We ended our 12 night Tassie holiday with 2 nights at the Islington, as a celebration for a milestone birthday. The good: the Wellington suite is generously proportioned, breakfast was impressive (we had an early departure and the chef kindly prepared an early cooked breakfast for us), the grounds are well kept and the bed was super comfortable. The heated bathroom floor is a good touch. The disappointing: on arrival it was straight to a guest lounge room for ID and payment. We were then guided through the dining area and straight to our room (a more in depth tour, explanation of some details of the hotel, and the offer of a beverage would have been appreciated). Some aspects of the room are starting to look a little worn and in need of attention. The wifi in the room was non-existent (the guest compendium wouldn't load on the in-room iPad). We booked a 'Love Actually at Islington' package which included a 'curated chocolate hamper for two'. After an attempt at a discreet enquiry about the hamper, we returned in the afternoon to find a very sad Easter basket, with a few chocolates that looked like they had been scrounged from the staff fridge (our stay was in late April). Our room had a lovely bath, but no indulgent bath salts /oils on offer, and the towels are on the small side.

Little bit dated. Booked through Qantas Hotels and somehow was upgraded. ( No requested room available? do not know.) Water shower deluge head is great. Plenty of towels washers etc. The body wash and shampoo bottles are squeeze to actuate, sounds simple doesn't it? Mattress very comfy. Pillow a little firm for me but I did have the choice of 5! You get a kettle and that's it. Fridge opens one way, cupboard door opens opposite way. Not user friendly. Mis mash of cups. No knife or fork. Had to book for a couple of nights the next week but was an extra 50 an night. Thought that was a bit unnecessary for a returning client booking the same room. We had two windy nights and the sliding door widows rattling was enough to keep you awake. Need to be wedged. Location to town. Excellent, walking distance.

This was a fabulous stay. Weather let us down a bit though not even the excellent customer service could fix that. The staff were so attentive and pleasant. The facilities were excellent for our 3 day stay with a roll away bed being provided as we needed 2 separate sleeping areas. The cooking facilities were excellent for our needs. The view was very good over the Derwent River. Shower room was excellent and the clothes washer and dryer much appreciated. The location was fabulous with all sites a walk away. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Great base for our 2 night Hobart stay. A little out of the city centre and up quite a steep hill, I'm not sure it's location would suit those without a car, but if you have one it's an ideal spot. The whole property looked well maintained including the pool and games room (although we didn't have time to use either). Our 3 bedroom villa (no. 12) had a fantastic view out over the city and river and easy parking in front. It was very spacious, clean, modern and comfortable with two bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs) and a compact but perfectly adequate kitchen. I would have given five stars but we were there during a heat wave and although the air conditioning worked really well downstairs, there is none upstairs and it was very hot by the end of the day making it difficult to sleep. Unfortunately there are no flyscreens on the windows either, so we didn't feel comfortable opening them. Aside from this though a great spot for spacious self contained accommodation.

Quest Trinity is in a great, convenient location close to the CBD although noise from helicopters attending the Royal Hobart hospital can, at times, be a little intrusive. Beds were comfortable and apartment was well equipped and had everything needed to make your holiday feel like home.

Basic room but very clean and well appointed. Very close proximity to all amenities of the cbd, uber eats was able to find us quickly and without hassle, also the establishment is very quiet of a night. The bed was comfortable and there was free Wi-Fi, for $85 a night, so close to everything and presented in this manner, I would happily recommend to anyone I know and will be staying again when we are down again. The only recommendation I have for the owners/managers is the shower cubicle itself is very small and I'm a tall guy and big build too, so moving around to shower was a bit hard but otherwise that's it. Thank you for a great stay, my partner and I will see you again on our next stay. ๐

We stayed for Cadbury marathon, which starts Cadbury Factory in Claremont. The location is not only good for the event but also not far from Hobart town centre, which is 10 minutes by car.
The carpark space is shared with BWS.
There are two complimentary water bottles in the fridge.
We really appreciated their kindness to let us have late checkout about 12pm. My husband could take a shower after his 42km run!

The Richmond Arms Hotel is an impressive heritage building set in this historic town. The room itself is quite comfortable but with shared bathroom facilities. There was quite a delay in checking in as the room was not ready but the bar compensated with a complimentary beverage. The hotel is very popular for lunch and dinner with guests and other customers and the food quality and variety is high. I was very grateful for the staffโs assistance when I misplaced my bank card. The only odd thing was that they featured only American sports on the large TVโs in the lounge but no one seemed to notice or care.

PPengguna TetamuThe 2 bedroom unit was decorated to match the older style home. We chose the Waterview apartment mainly to sit on the balcony but sadly was too cold. The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable. With a large bed and table to use. Bit noisy from road. The bathroom small. Step into bath for shower. Kitchen had everything but we didnโt cook. Great to have washing machine/dryer. Lounge area spacious however a very small TV which isnโt the usual, needs to be updated. The iron too? The only heating is a wall heater in lounge room and 1 bedroom and a portable oil heater in 2nd bedroom which we had to move into our bedroom to keep us warm enough. Kitchen was freezing. I wouldnโt like to stay there in the cold months. The larder across the road has closed down but is replaced by BlacFig which is a huge coffee/deli place.

RRelax39281755835The Bay Apartments are a good value but simple place to stay in Hobart. We stayed here for 1 night this week, in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean but small. It had an overpowering smell of cleaning products when we arrived but this dispersed during our stay. The bathroom is a traditional shower-over-bath, and there is a small living area and flat screen TV. There is a small cooktop and sink, and a bar fridge. The apartments are a short walk to a large range of restaurants, a Woolworths and a Cole. There is also a pub (almost) next door. It is a short drive to Hobart CBD and there are public buses out the front. We were apprehensive at first as it was quite noisy (noise from other guests and from the road), but this didnโt affect our sleep quality. There is parking outside the unit and one reverse cycle aircon unit in the living area. Donโt expect a fancy property- this is a basic but well presented unit at an affordable price point, not a $300/nt property. If you set your expectations correctly this is a very good property. The stairways to the upstairs appartments are very narrow and it is difficult to carry large cases up and down. Iโd stay here again if looking for a basic stay in Hobart, but probably not for multiple nights.

Beautiful setting and the room was lavishly decorated. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was enormous. Reverse cycle air conditioning worked perfectly. Lots of hot water for the shower and there was an ample bath too. Breakfast was a wonderful array of cereals, fruits, cold meats, cheese and breads. My only criticism would be the lack of a small bar fridge as you may want to have a cold drink. They do have ice available but it can be a messy process. I would stay again and there are plenty of dining options nearby. They have a lounge for you to enjoy too with complimentary port.

PPengguna TetamuI am very disappointed as I thought I booked a room in Wrest Point but instead it was in adjacent property called Motor Inn. I felt that I have been cheated as the picture in the booking details showed me Wrest point Towel and not Motor Inn. I thought the room was called Motor Inn as I have not been there to know the existence of Motor Inn. When I queried about it, they said it was the agent's (trip.com) fault . To move to the main tower will cost me an extra of $80. I felt I have been conned and they should have placed the Motor Inn building photo instead of the tower of Wrest Point in their website for booking. (It is deceptive marketing - show you a ferrari for sale and got a lemon after you have paid for it)
Motor Inn is an old building and does not have lifts to the room we were allocated and being retirees , we have to carry our bags up to 2 flights of stairs. On top of that, the room walls were not sound proof and you can hear every customer slamming their doors and flushing their toilets. I thought we have booked the room with the sea view instead there were only bushes as a window view.
It was so embarrassing when I thought I could request for a room on a higher floor in wrest tower for good views but instead shown out of the door to an old adjacent building call Motor Inn. In all its websites and advertising, there is not 1 photo to show Motor Inn as Wrest Point . It has always being the tower used to promote the sale of their rooms.
The Bistro food is poor quality and costly. We order from the caviary and the food came out to be cold and dry. We wanted to try the other 2 restaurants Kwan Ho and the one on the 17 th floor in the main tower but were told they were close. I thought being a top notch hotel, their restaurant will be open 7 days instead they are closed 2 days.( sun and mon).

Easily located within walking distance of Sandy Bay shopping district with a great variety of restaurants and cafรฉs, groceries and all resources. The rooms are spacious with a beautiful four poster bed and very comfortable mattress. A clean and equipped ensuite, ensures privacy. A continental breakfast is provided with variety to suit every taste. The breakfast room overlooks the cottage garden and was warm & cosy. A fully stocked kitchen is available if you want to fend for yourself. A relaxing lounge area provides a quiet place to escape or relax, with a complimentary port should you wish to partake. Parking on site makes the transition to your room easy. A wonderful stay, close to everything, and an easy drive to so many of Tasmaniaโs attractions & tours. Great communication from our host, ensured we wanted for nothing. We felt like the Lord and Lady of the โManorโ. Highly recommended.

PPengguna TetamuThis motel had been recommended to us by relatives for our first Tasmanian trip. We'd chosen a ground floor Queen room and frankly it was the only real disappointment in our trip. To call the shoebox-sized ground-floor Queen room a Queen room is laughable. It might be big enough for a couple of kids with a backpack but for two adult travellers with suitcases the small room was totally inadequate. It's the smallest motel room we have ever been in anywhere in the world. The bed is supposed to be Queen size but we doubt it and the linen was to small for the frame. At 3am every morning we had to re-make the bed as the sheets and matress topper became totally undone. We will not be staying here again and if you have motre than a backpack do not choose the ground floor rooms. The only plus was it was close to the car park.

PPengguna TetamuThe rather bland exterior of the hotel hides a pleasant enough interior. Despite being situated on a busy road, our room was totally free of traffic noise. The bathroom looked to have been recently renovated. The room was a little small with built in shelf space, but no cupboards and only floor space to put suitcases on. The bathroom window lock didn't work, but being on the second floor, we didn't feel at risk. Tea, coffee, jug, iron, ironing board, fridge, plenty of power points, air conditioning and comfortable beds were all positives. Security is excellent. You need to swipe your keycard at the main entrance and floor entrance before accessing your room (again with the keycard). The hotel also has a fairly large car park at the rear of the building. Staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is only about a 15-20 walk away from the Salamanca Square/Franklin Wharf area. It also houses a very good and popular restaurant (see Hobart Restaurants, Doctor Syntax). Also, being a hotel, it costs a lot less to stay here than in one of the big-name motels around town. I'd happily stay here again.

We had a room for the disabled and it was fantastic. Why can't every other motel I've had to stay in do a room like the Mayfair does for those in wheelchairs? The room was larger to accommodate a wheelchair and the bathroom was fitted out with a sink you could actually reach while seated, there were handholds around the shower which had a built-in seat (so important for those of us who can't stand in a shower) and bars around the toilet. I loved the overnight stay, and it was the first time I could have a shower without feeling fearful simply because of a seat in the cubicle and an extended handheld shower head. Not only was the room amazing, but the motel location was also brilliant with stores close by. The indoor garden was an added gift to a motel I'd definitely stay in whenever I'm in Hobart.
