Hotel Villa Costes Gallipoli

My boyfriend booked this hotel for a summer beach vacation with his three kids and I was completely disappointed with the experience, especially given the great TripAdvisor reviews. While the dining room staff were great (pleasant and accommodating), the food good and the rooms large, those are the only positive aspects of our stay. When we arrived, the door lock did not function properly and the room had a certain odor (which may have been the air freshener) which bothered my allergies. We opened the window for fresh air and found that there were no screens to prevent mosquitoes from entering. We notified the manager who indicated that they would fix the door and get us screens, but neither was done during our stay. The extremely small "bar" is similar to a "home bar", and is located in a front sitting room near the reception desk - not where you'd want to have a drink. Lunch is not offered, and there are no vending machines or room service, where you can get a snack or a cold drink after hours. The dinner menu offers few options and you are required to select your evening meal during breakfast. The property is also home to large German Shepherd dog, which roams freely through the grounds - inside and out, and sleeps in the dining room. Despite my allergy to dogs, and my fear of large dogs, they did absolutely nothing to accommodate, and instead asked "what do you want me to do, kill the dog?" The wi-fi is spotty and fails more often than it works and there are limited outlets in the room - some of which are elevated and consequently out of reach for any realistic use. Although relatively close, they are not within walking distance of retail establishments, restaurants or the beach, which makes getting around without a vehicle simply out of the question. I'm not sure why this is referred to as a Hotel because it's as if you were staying at someone's house. If you are looking for a fun beach getaway, comfort or pampering, I would look elsewhere.

Siamo tornati la settimana scorsa dalla bellissima vacanza trascorsa a Gallipoli, e devo dire che siamo stati benissimo. L'hotel sta a un passo dalla superstrada, a 5 chilometri da Gallipoli e dalla baia verde. In quell'hotel regna la pace e la tranquillità... La cena viene servita quasi sempre in giardino a 5 metri dalla piscina. Le pietanze presentate sono un primo abbondante, un secondo con contorno e un dolce che corrisponde, una sera si e una sera no, a gelato o frutta. Solo l'ultima sera abbiamo avuto la cheesecake, buonissima tra l'altro. La cucina è casereccia e tipica, ma davvero buona . Le stanze sono molto grandi, pulite, con condizionatore e frigobar. Il direttore è una persona eccezionale, che ama il suo lavoro e che ci ha consigliato di visitare dei posti spettacolari. L'hotel è convenzionato con il Gbeach, lo stabilimento più bello di Gallipoli. E con altri stabilimenti di alto livello. L'unico neo che devono migliorare è la colazione... un cornetto a testa, e il buffet di colazione, dovrebbe essere un po' più abbondante... c'è sono un ciambellone... Però 5 stelle gliele do tutte ! Verremo sicuramente di nuovo a trovarvi. Complimenti vivissimi a tutto lo staff.
