Went for birthday lunch. Food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. Cooked fresh to order. Very friendly. Hotel in lovely setting would definitely go back and recommend Dining room decorated very well. Can’t comment on rooms as didn’t stay

Wonderful 2 night stay in this lovely, wee hotel. Great staff, great food, great location and wonderful room with lovely views. Nothing I could add that would make it better. Water supplied in the room and replenished after the first night. Fresh smoked haddock for breakfast was one of the best ever tasted, and the omelette with smoked salmon on the second morning, again, wonderful and cooked by Paulo himself.

a peaceful small hotel in beatutiful countryside with lots of places of interest close by. The owner Paolo was charming and is a keen gardener growing all their own produce. He is also an excellent cook. The room we were in was very well appointed.

One of the worst hotel experiences I fail to understand its 4 tar and rosette standard. We were the only people in the hotel it felt like a ghost ship. No help to our cottage which was damp and smelt, the iwner moved us to a smaller cottage, begrudgingly it was not much better. The bed was hard, not much lighting and tepid water. Dinner was a disappoin**ent geasy sauce on chicken, watery mashed potatoes and cold veg. The steak was tough snd tasteless and did not come with the accompanying tomates, mushrooms etc. Breakfast ok but a very long wait. We explained on arrival I was recovering from a heart operation. The damp brought on my asthma and I was unwell next day so we decided to move on. He was quite belligerent and charged us for the full 3 nights. We will never go back and can never recommend this unhappy place

I recently stayed at this charming hotel set in a beautiful location that's easy to find. The cozy a**osphere made it a perfect retreat, especially for those with furry friends—the hotel is dog-friendly. The owners were incredibly welcoming and attentive, creating a homely feel despite the lack of a 24/7 reception. While a midday coffee would have been a nice touch, the homemade shortbread and fruit in the rooms added a delightful twist to the usual biscuit offerings. I appreciated the thoughtfulness, although slightly firmer fruit would have been preferable. The lounge menu offered an amazing culinary experience, with perfectly sized portions and delicious flavors. Despite the chilly ambiance in the dining area, the warmth of the roaring fire added to the overall cozy a**osphere. The only real downside during my stay was the steep £20 price tag for breakfast, which I found a bit excessive and so didn't opt for (especially for a small eater in the morning). Limited breakfast options at a more reasonable cost would have been of interest. Additionally, the prices of drinks at the bar were on the higher side, especially as its a very appealing choice for those looking to enjoy a casual drink in such a cozy setting. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience at the hotel remained delightful, with its warm ambiance and friendly service.All in all, a highly recommended and relaxing stay and I will no doubt return.

My husband and I visited the hotel this weekend for a get away. The whole experience was disappointing from start to finish. No warm welcome on arrival from the manager/owner, we waited 20 minutes for him to arrive at the reception desk and we were treated as though we were an inconvenience. Cottage basic, clean but poorly lit with main lights only and the most uncomfortable bed and hard pillows. Booked a table for dinner last night, minimal vege options available. Should have received a glass of Prosecco on arrival, which bar waitress said she could ‘knock off our bill’ Waited 50 minutes to be seated for dinner which we ate in the lounge area as we had our dog with us. It was so cold I had to keep my coat on. Candles on the table unlit and spotlights on full glare, it was like eating in MacDonalds. Food was mediocre at best. Ordered an apple crumble which arrived with a light sprinkle of crumbs. I asked the waitress if that was normal and she brought the manager out who asked “what’s the problem?” He was aggressive in his manner and most unpleasant. I was told ‘that’s the way they do things here’ and that no one else had ever complained before, there was no apology. I mentioned the lighting & cold and he shrugged and said he couldn’t do anything about it. We paid quite a bit of money for our stay and dinner and would most certainly not return.

The room was ok, warm too. The staff friendly and helpful. Down stair it was cold the evening wasn’t so bad because the fire was on but it was Baltic at breakfast time. The food was ok but only served warm not hot so given the temperature of the dinning room soon became cold. We wouldn’t stay again disappointed because we came with friends, we felt we had let them down by choice of hotel. The owner was quite rude when we mentioned how cold we had been disappointing

We have just left the Blackaddie House hotel after spending the night. On arrival we were greeted by Paris who is an absolute delight. She was so friendly, polite and knowledgeable about the menu and wine. Our room The Pheasant was fabulous, beautifully decorated with the comfiest bed ever. The canapés served in the bar with our drinks were delicious. The food was top class as was the wine recommended by Paris to accompany our fillet steak. Breakfast was served by Isabella who was also extremely friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We opted for the Scottish breakfast which was delicious. The owner Anna chatted with us last night and made us feel very welcome. The a**osphere was relaxed, welcoming and homely. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Wonderful hotel for a mini break. Great location for walking in the beautiful Scottish countryside. Excellent food and service, all food is fresh and delicious, my husband wanted to lick the plate clean! The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and spacious. Would happily recommend
