We stayed for a week and what a find. El Hierro was fabulous as was the hotel. We have been to La Gomera on numerous occasions but never to El Hierro. It was a challenge to get here involving two flights, a taxi transfer between airports and a hire car to the hotel. We arrived very tired but were welcomed in by Joanna, who was excellent throughout our week's stay. She was always willing to chat and always welcomed us back each day and asked us where we had been. The hotel location was excellent, we fell asleep each night to the sound of crashing waves. The bathroom could do with some updating and parts of the hotel could do with some tlc. The food was very good although the menu never changed throughout the week we were there. Overall everything was great and we had a wonderful holiday😃😃😃

Arrived travel-weary and in much need of a break from work. It was a long journey as a a ferry to the island extends your travel time but the hotel has made every effort to combat this by offering a check in service at the ferry port before you even board as well as having your bags delivered to your room. Due to this we still able to get dinner late on our first night. And that's just the start. We woke up to stunning sun rises from our room with its sea views and terrace and enjoyed the varied breakfast choices, often sitting out on the restaurant verandah. Dinner choices were excellent, with the self-service buffet theme changing from night to night, so that we could easily avoid eating the same thing twice. Staff were super friendly and helpful, special mention to Angel in the Bar Kristina, Jurgen for his infomative guided walks and the ever-smiling Juan-Francisco, who called daily to see whether the mini bar or coffees needed replenishing. The reception areas have large, touch-sensitive screens where guests can access schedules of events, programs and tours throughout the week. The gardens are beautifully maintained and host a variety of animal and bird-life. There are so many extra touches such as a small library with a selection of books in a variety of languages, even a full arm of bananas hung at the reception entrance for guests to help themselves to a snack! Lots of encouragement for guests to learn about the growing of plants (including said bananas) Guests are also able to take advantage of the nearby Tecina Golf course where, again, the staff were really helpful, with a small pro-shop, club and buggy hire and a cafe bar for those post-round refreshments. Could not ask for a better holiday or a warmer welcome.
