Great Hotel .... Everything you need at this hotel .... staff are very friendly and so helpful They do an amazing job daily The restaurant- food was amazing. All cooked fresh and some foods cooked in front of you So much choice .... cannot fault the food at all - delicious Rooms - just one small criticism- they need an update and a lick of paint ! But apart from that the rooms are very spacious and the beds are so comfy I would also like to say the cleaners do an amazing job daily cleaning the rooms - thanks guys and loved the little love heart and fan made from the sheet on my bed - it's the little touches that make you smile 😃 All in all a great hotel - thoroughly enjoy my stay at Funana and will definitely return All staff do an amazing job daily so thanks guys you made my holiday 👌 My first visit to Cape Verde and certainly will not be the last

We stayed for 1 week end of August, beautiful hotel. Room had 2 double beds, large seating area and balcony, air con and 2 large water added daily. Bathroom was big and spacious, Toiletries offered are Crabtree and really lovely. We ate once in the buffet restaurant which was good but the best is the Bounty Beach Club, amazing food in a beautiful setting. Beautiful hotel with exceptional service.

Points positifs : chambre équipée propre, petit déjeuner (buffet), horaires du minibus pour Santa Maria+ Ponta Preta, proximité avec les plages, plusieurs piscines, Points négatifs : manque de vie nocturne et animations, l’espace sport libre extérieur à refaire, + une réceptionniste très désagréable et qui ne voulait rien entendre (ne voulait pas que nous payons le montant de la taxe de séjour indiquée sur notre réservation mais bonne gestion du service client Trip)

The good- 😁 Excellent location for beach, pier, shops, bars and restaurants. Lovely restaurant with fantastic view’s, excellent food and a good selection for both breakfast and evening meal (half board) -waitresses Irene and Patricia were especially good. The hotel and our room were kept very clean throughout our stay. Good to have a free room safe but too small for iPads or Kindles. Also good to have a kettle in the room but the cups are tiny! The bad-☹️ No regard for half board customers arriving too late for evening meal- restaurant closed so went to bed hungry! No welcome drink on arrival. The bottle of water in the mini bar should be complimentary at least on the first night as it’s not advised to drink the tap water or use for brushing teeth. Finally-charging guests €4 each per day for sun beds! A common complaint which seems to fall on deaf ears. Overall- We wanted to support the local economy and book a local family run hotel, but feel that the Rui hotels ( which we have used before) provide better value for money and value your custom more, so would choose that option next time.

After a long flight we arrived to find our room was not ready, we had to wait 3 hours which is really unacceptable as they knew what time we were arriving. Other than that we had a fabulous holiday. Room was clean, bed comfy. Clean towels every day. Pool area was clean, pool bar had plenty of food and drinks available from morning till 8pm. Restaurant had a good variety of food available. I would recommend this hotel and even though it was a bit far from the beach and town I would visit again.

Located on Sal Island, Porta do Vento is only a 10-minute walk from the beach and offers a garden and terrace. Snorkeling, fishing and windsurfing activities are possible on the sea and Espargos is a 20-minute drive away. Decorated in a simple style, all rooms feature a TV and a safety deposit box. The en suite bathroom is complete with a shower. Additional features include a restaurant, bar, organisation of tour excursions and airport transfers. Sal International Airport is ideally located 17 km away and Wi-Fi access is available at an extra cost.

We had booked a 5 room Villa for tow families to share to celebrate the end of the year directly through the hotel and were told a. few days before they had overbooked the Villas and ours wouldn't be available for three days. This is when the problems started! We were offered VIP wristbands, two suites, a discount on the bill and some other things to sweeten the deal. Not having much choice, we accepted. The suites we were put in were tired, shabby and overrun with mosquitos and we all had lots of bites from these first few days. The standard at this end of the hotel (which was inland from reception) was way below what we were expecting but we were close to the kids club, pools etc and so just got on with it. The really disappointing thing happened when our Villa was ready. We were told by the hotel to pack up, leave our luggage in the room, go to dinner and our luggage would be there shortly. The next day, our iPad was missing from our luggage. We reported this to reception as soon as we noticed who assured us they would check and investigate and to come back later. We know the iPad was off-site as we were notified about it's location being near the airport after a tour. After multiple visits to reception over the next few days, with different staff fobbing us off, we were getting nowhere. Having email addresses of the staff meant we had another route to ask for help, but that proved fruitless. Needing a report for insurance, we got hold of a member of guest services on the day we left. They were polite, but refused to write a report on what happened let alone claim responsibility. What we should have done is report to the police immediately rather than rely on the stretched customer services in the hotel. At every trip to reception, there was someone complaining about something missing, lack of service etc. Aside from the theft, our stay improved a lot once we were in the Villa which was great. If you have it as part of your package, book a-la-carte restaurants in the evening. We enjoyed each of them. but there is limited availability each night and you need to book in advance. Each of them has a kids menu.
