The stay was good. The manager was very helpful and spoke English. Nice pool. Not much to do in Santa Marianita though

I was so happy to get a recommendation for Santa Marianita nr Manta, whilst the rest of Ecuador was under grey cloud. It has its own little sunny micro-climate plus has this little gorgeous gem of a hostel. Oswaldo, the owner, is the most accommodating host and has made the hostel, with its bamboo structures, swimming pool, hot tub, pool table and hammock deck, the most delightful and relaxing place to stay. Rooms are clean, spacious and the showers are with decent hot water. Eating in-house is a must as cheap and delicious. Oswaldo is a fine cook and cooks the meal of the day different every night. The beach is only 2 mins walk but being the Ecuadorian mecca for kite-surfing it can be a little windy, which is why a dip in the Soga pool to cool off does the trick. With a free beer on arrival, an upgrade to the balcony and a marvellous host who speaks great English, this was the best place to land after arriving in Guayaquil 2 days previous. Highly recommended.

Soga Hostal is about a 1 minute walk from a beautiful beach. The breakfast was great and the dinner we had was excellent. Warm welcome, beautiful common areas including a digital nomad space, a guest "bar" that seemed to open early and close late, quiet location, good security, and basic rooms.

We stayed for four days at Soga Hostel and we could not have made a better choice. The guys are super friendly and really make an effort to make you feel at home at their place. We had to work from there and for that it was really great too. The hostel has a beautiful terrace with very good WiFi connection and working from there was so much fun. It is just a two minute walk from the beach and the beach is really nice and clean and very few people. Oswaldo is a dear and you can always ask him for advice on anything, he is a very great cook too - you have to try his ceviche! We could not recommend the hostel more if you would like a chilled place, nice beach and cool people around.

The best place I've stayed on Ecuadoian coast. I'm not joking. Really is the best rooms, cleanliness, bed, breakfast, friendliness and care of the people who work here. I fell in love with the family who treat me like their own with love, kindness and endless tasty treats. With the owner Oswaldo who goes out of his way making you feel at home, driving you to Manta and being incredibly accommodating, as the rest of his family. I can't say enough good words for this place, if you want great experience in Ecuador come to this place. Next to the beach and shops. Just awesome.

El hostal es increíble, las habitaciones son cómodas y acogedoras; mi padre es una persona con discapacidad, y fue bueno haber encontrado un hostal con adecuaciones para su comodidad. Hay diferentes ambientes, pudimos disfrutar de karaoke, un poco de baile y demás. La comida es deliciosa, fresca y los precios son súper cómodos, por lo que decidimos quedarnos en el lugar para todas las comidas; aparte, sí deseábamos nos servían unos cócteles deliciosos. Esperamos volver pronto.

Een super leuk, gezellig en fijn hostel! Direct aan het strand en met super leuke mensen. De eigenaar, Oswalda is een hele lieve, behulpzame man die je graag wil helpen met wat dan ook. Het eten is voortreffelijk, vooral de Ceviche is mijn favoriet in dit hostel! Ik kan een ieder dit hostel heel erg aanbevelen. Hele lieve, behulpzame en gezellige mensen, het is heel netjes en schoon, heerlijk eten en direct aan het strand!
