PROS: - The location was beautiful - the huts are moderately spaced out with jungle foliage and large boulders between them. The ocean view is really a partial ocean view as the cabins are set back quite a distance from the beach. However, the elevation of the cabins scattered along the jungle mountain affords guests with a view of multiple landscapes; it is breathtaking. As the sun set, gorgeous pink and purple hues stretched across the sky before dark clouds rolled in and treated us to an amazing thunderstorm light show. - Hiking nearby, we saw some Capuchin Monkeys in the trees and heard some Red Howler Monkeys nearby. - The breakfast was simple, but good. - The staff at reception and the restaurant were kind. - My friend and I spent one night in the deluxe suite and the style and condition of the cabin was exactly like the pictures shown here. The cabin was huge and the redwood cabinets were nice. The queen bed had a mosquito net (needed!), but the single bed did not. - All of the window shutters around the circular cabin could be opened to allow a better view and/or breeze, and all of the shutters had screens and locks to secure each screen/shutter. - The room had a high ceiling and a large fan. - The structure is beautiful with its thatched roof and stairs that wind up the side of the hut to the bedroom. - The bathroom downstairs was modern and beautiful. Very comfortable and included hot water. - The mini fridge was downstairs on the open air patio. It worked well and had a lock (though we had no problems with anyone straying into our ecohab area). - The hammock on the downstairs patio was clean and comfortable. - The ecohabs face Playa Cañaveral, which is not swimmable. However, a small cove on the side of the main beach IS swimmable and the water is a beautiful aqua. This is Playa Piscinita and in theory, the tables with umbrellas and the lounge chairs belong to the ecohabs for guest use. When we were there, randos were using the tables and chairs, but it was low season, and tables were still available. I don't know if table "ownership" is enforced during the busy season. - A small snack bar sold a small selection of expensive drinks and snacks. - While the accommodation does not include A/C and may seem a bit rustic for the price, keep in mind the guests are paying for private cabins in a lush setting with some of the best views in the park. *One night was perfect for us. I don't think it's a MUST DO, but if you visit the park during the high season, you might want to reserve one of these babies (at least 3 or 4 months in advance) and stay for two nights just to enjoy some peace and privacy. CONS: - This is the most expensive accommodation in the park, and is considered to be a luxurious stay compared to the surrounding options. (The Arrecifes cabins are similar, but are located at ground level in a campground area.) - Do not expect service and amenities here. The huts are located in a somewhat isolated area in
