I totally enjoyed my stay here, the hostel seems to be quite new, everything is clean and in a very good condition. The atmosphere is super nice and relaxed, as the ground floor is also a bar/restaurant. It is also only a few minutes away by foot from the Susukino district.

The only thing we really didn't like was the soup at breakfast. Some reviewers obviously did like it, we did not. Otherwise the room was fine, the staff downstairs reasonably helpful - they don't know much about the local restaurants (Oosuke nearby is very good) - and most of the bar staff friendly and engaging although one poor chap was pretty clueless. A smile always helps. One of the city loop tramstops is a seven minute walk (make sure you have some change), there is a good laundromat next to an excellent dry cleaner on the same street (turn right out of the hotel, the tram stop is up the main road to the left, the cleaning shops to the right past a few cheaper restaurants). From memory it is about Y2000 taxi from the station to the hotel. We enjoyed the free glass of wine early evening and a single malt before bedtime at around Y1500 was a nice way to finish the day.

Modern convenient hotel near the shopping street, I chose because Dormy inn didn't have twin room available. We stayed 3 nights recovering from jet lag starting our vacation. Room was insanely small 170 square feet, had to store luggage on floor under bed. Probably the smallest twin room I've stayed in even for Japan standards. Shower was claustrophobic but I used the Spa to shower. They only cleaned on the third day and did not touch the beds or tables because our personal items were on them. There should be a warning to pack up everything into your suitcase if you want your room cleaned. Breakfast was phenomenal. They had Japanese and western offerings. Everyday they had Hokkaido specialties to try both meat and seafood. It was a wonderful opportunity to sample dishes. Coffee machine at breakfast and the room coffee was instant-yuck. 7-11 is next door thankfully. Front desk staff was top notch, extremely helpful with my inquiries. They hire great people. Spa bath had quite a bit of hair, outside bath a lot of bugs, but I was happy to use it anyway. That area could use some work. Definitely an upgrade from your Dormy Inns. For reference, this my third trip to Japan, first to Sapporo. I’m a single mom traveling with my teen daughter, carry on luggage only. We are from NYC, used to small spaces, both thin. This was tight for 3 nights otherwise pleasant. I would book this hotel chain again based on the quality of their staff.

Location is superb. Direct access to the park and subway. Right in the city center. Service is super good. Only thing that needs to improve is the breakfast.
