Checked into this hotel (spent 4 nights here) after spending 4 days at a more humble and further out of town hotel. No sooner had I checked in and strolled to the river bank (all of 20 metres away) I found my first rhino feeding without a care in the world some 100 metres away. It really did surprise me how placid this large beast was. I really enjoyed my time here and would regard the hotel as rustic, yet comfortable with the customer service being a standout. Some staff excelled, especially to the man who worked tirelessly at the restaurant from sunrise to well after sunset. The location is second to none. I had a room on the top floor which had extensive views over the river and well into the National Park. You will find some mixed reviews of this hotel however please keep in mind this is Nepal, a developing country with people just wanting to help you and give you every chance to experience their culture and most wonderful country. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a large room with ensuite and breakfast is very reasonable and certainly value for money.

We stayed at this Resort in last week of March 2022. The property is clean, very good service, warm and friendly people. And efficiently manage the various safaris. Post Covid, they are still working with limited staff, but put in lot of effort. The rooms, pool, garden. Every thing is clean and well maintained. Wifi is pretty good Very pleasant stay with family. Located close to the market, and cultural centers.
Tiger Residency Resort

All of the staff at the Tiger Residency were friendly and helpful and they made us so welcome from the minute we arrived. The guide was just fabulous, going way beyond his remit of taking us to the elephant conservation site, bird watching on the river, to a cultural evening event and to see the sunset over the river. He gave us a personal tour of the village around the hotel and introduced us to a local group who were celebrating an 84th birthday. He then waited patiently while we were invited to join the dancing and meet everyone at the party. The kitchen staff made food especially for us and brought us lassi and tea on the veranda. The hotel itself is excellent, with hot rainfall showers, a beautiful tranquil garden setting, good wifi and balconies outside each room for relaxing in the shade.

After the long and soggy Christmas I endured I decided to book a lovely family holiday to Nepal. We woke up horribly early for our flight and hopped on the local bus to the airport. On arrival it was overall chilly and wet. I don't want to traumatise anyone so I'll give an overall airport summary. Children screaming , adults crying, dogs dying. We waited a long and painful two hours and went to hand in our wet and girthy luggage to be told it's too heavy. They are obviously lying to my face as my husband tong weighted the luggage pre leaving. I believe if anything it's from all the rain getting it soggy and very moist. After removing some kids toys from the suitcase it was the correct weight. We move towards boarding and hop right on the plane for a ride. DISASTER STRUCK! My youngest baby andrew was separated from us at boarding where we didn't find him until we had sat down in the seats. I am someone that suffers very horribly with crippling anxiety and losing my baby did NOT help.#dobetter. I don't want to yap on about the flight so I'll also summarise it for you . Soggy food, screaming kids and smelly feet. Upon arrival the private transport we had booked came to take us to the hotel. Hot , sweaty and sticky is all I can say. When we arrive at the lovely looking hotel we enter and give our bags and jackets to the staff. We go up to the counter and are told our room isn't ready yet as we arrived 4 hours before check in. I politely explained I have two young sons who are shattered and emotionally drained from the soggy smelly flight. She explained to me that if I wanted a room immediately it would have to be a DOWNGRADE. I explained to her that 4 beds is just not enough for the four of us as my youngest Andrew prefers to have the option of two because of his autism and he's just simply getting too old to share with mummy. One thing led to another and I am verbally abusing the woman at the counter. I was then asked to leave but peacefully protested in the corner with my lovely family until they allowed the upgrade. When we hike up the set of stairs to the room we are greeted by wrongly folded duvets, towels hidden in cupboards and the smell of cleaning products. As I make my way onto the balcony I dip my long leg into the hot tub where a hair politely floats up and wraps itself disrespectfully around my big toe. With a few phone calls all of this was sorted and we made our way down to the pool. We spot another young, kind , loving, caring , respectful family just like ours. We make our way over and William (oldest son) begins talking to a girl. Not impressed. She smiles at me in a rude way and asks how my days have been (I'm already having a terrible day) I reply well and she whisks him away to the bar. Bare in mind my son is far too young to be drinking as he has only just become allowed to around 6 years ago. Later on William comes running back to me only to tell me his little Alberta was only an Alberto and he only likes girls. I turn around

Very good hotel/resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. very friendly and attentive staff, food is excellent and they were very accommodating and considerate towards our special requests /dietary restrictions. Hotel premises are lush green and very relaxing ambience. Hotel owner was around to personally check on all guests. The hotel arranged all our local activities including safari, which was quite convenient. A minor point is that floors in rooms were not very clean. Nevertheless, we had a good time during our stay there.
Rainbow Safari Resort

I was disappointed with my stay and felt like my business was not appreciated. The resort was aware of power outages and did not inform, warm or compensate for the lack of power. Often the power was out for hours when it was 39 degrees!! It was unbearable!! I was aware of the heat before arriving and made sure the resort would have a/c. I felt cheated! I also was not impressed with the jeep tour. We were crammed into a jeep with other guests from the hotel for 4.5 hours. The guide was knowledgeable but did not try to make any connections with anyone. The canoeing was enjoyable as was the walk, but perhaps it was the wrong time of day to walk. 4 - 6 pm was quite hot for walking. The staff were kind and helpful - in particular the servers. Although I didn't feel they gave enough care for the heat exhaustion we felt when the a/c was out for hours. Invest in a decent generator! Treat your staff better so they can show joy for working for you. Offer cold drinks when the a/c isn't working. Take 2 jeeps, so that your guests can enjoy the jeep safari tour. Ask your guests what kind of food they would like. Get some bikes that guests can rent or borrow. Give service that makes me want to recommend you! Good luck Rainbow!
