The hotel reception design is unwelcoming, though the staff who handled my check-in was polite.
Upon entering my room, it looked run-down.
Evidence of poor maintenance was everywhere: tape on the walls falling off, holes in the curtains, cracks on the furniture, and the floor appeared dirty. They also do not provide disposable bedroom slippers.
My sleep was disrupted first by external noise (people playing fireworks to celebrate Deepavali). However, the most significant disruption came at 7 a.m. when I was woken up by an Indian man shouting non-stop in the hotel lobby.
I saw this same man in the lobby when I left for breakfast and again at 10 a.m. when he finally left. Based on his interaction with the front desk, I strongly suspect this non-paying guest who caused the all the noise was a friend of the Indian ******* receptionist. Allowing a friend to loudly disrupt paying guests' sleep for hours is a complete failure of professionalism and security protocol.
I have stayed in 1-star hotels before, and I'd dare say this hotel is worse. While I understand this is a budget hotel, budget is no excuse for facilities to be so badly maintained, nor should noise from non-paying customers in the lobby be allowed to disrupt paying guests' sleep. Do not stay here.
