Hotel berhampiran Ephesus Experience Museum, Selcuk

I booked a room for 2 people at Boomerang Guest House and paid around our usual price, AUD$45/28 euros a night. Dorm beds were quoted at AUD $19/night. When we arrived at the guesthouse in March 2023,  they said we had booked a dormitory room (mixed dorm) and pointed to some Turkish words on the booking confirmation which,  according to them, said we had booked a dormitory bed for each of us. That was not what was indicated when I went through the booking process, which stated I was booking a room, not a dormitory. The owner stonewalled and said we would have to pay extra to upgrade to a room of our own. That was odd, since the room I booked was the 'last one available' at the time, yet they had at least three spare private rooms. They claim that the problem stems from the fact that they only have a relationship with Expedia and something has gone wrong when they (Expedia) have shared the information with Agoda. At that point I confirmed with him that this same situation had happened before (for months!): he blamed Agoda for using the Turkish words to describe the room.  I said that if this was a situation which had misled people before,  then he needed to be the one to ensure it was fixed. He could easily contact guests beforehand to let them know,  in English,  their reservation was for a dormitory,  until the booking process was fixed. But never did. I contacted him prior to arrival about the check in time but he did not respond (He received the message on WhatsApp via his brother: he made the excuse that the phone number on Agoda is out of date and doesn't go directly to him). Of course, the whole excuse was simply deflection: blame some other third party and avoid accountability. Coincidentally, another person arrived as we were at reception who had experienced the exact same situation. She had booked what she thought was a room for her and her traveling companion but the two young girls were told they were sleeping downstairs in a dormitory with men. Her traveling companion left immediately and the Malaysian girl was left by herself. She booked through Agoda and also felt assured she had booked a private  room.  By then I could see a pattern emerging and thought this could be a scam. Sell a room for a normal price,  then charge more on arrival,  pointing to some Turkish words on the booking which talked about it being a dormitory that we'd unsuspectingly signed up for. When I questioned the owner why the only indication it was a dormitory was written in Turkish,  he said he didn't know and again put the blame on Agoda. I said that given people had been misled even before our arrival,  it was his responsibility to ensure changes to the wording were made. What made it even more suspicious was that when I took him through the process I undertook to make the booking on the Agoda app,  not only did I show him it clearly talked about booking a room, not a bed and no mention of a dormitory,  there were no dorm pictures shown AND even tonight as

Outstanding service and friendliness. Made to feel like part of the family and at ease. Great advice given of tours to join and places to visit as well as where to eat…take their advice it is amazing. Room was really comfortable and had everything you would need. It was located in the perfect location to get to where you needed and wanted to go. Really close to restaurants and saint johns church. Breakfast was amazing and the coffee was probably the best I’ve had so far in Turkey! I would definetly stay here again. Thank you for the amazing stay!

When we arrived, there as a problem with the works the city was doing with the water pipelines and we had to be put in the second Ephesus (Ephesus Garden). That one was probably not as good as what we had booked. They were fair and offered us a free diner as well as a bottle of wine. That was nice but we will never know what the Ephesus Livia would have been like. Rooms were quite basic but the service quite good, especially Adnan. Excellent breakfast and recommendations. One thing to note also: you stay in the old part of the city, which is great but you can hear the neighbors's dog and roster during the night! The windows are not soundproof at all.

I'm giving the Nicea 5 stars. The place is very clean, everything works, there are lots of outlets in the rooms, and our room was spacious. The WIFI works well. The staff is welcoming and pleasant. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious. There's a pretty courtyard where you can hang out, drink tea, or eat. Plus, there is a small resident dog that's super cute. It's very close to nice shopping, plus it's easy to go to the big tourist spots from the hotel. There are nice restaurants nearby. Two things of which to be aware: you can't park in front of the hotel. We easily found a spot on the parallel street less than one minute away. Plus, there is no elevator. We asked for a room with a balcony, and it was worth it. We sat out in the evening watching the goings on. We will return there for sure when we return to Selcuk. I loved this place.

The room and bed were clean and spacious. All of the staff were kind and helpful, whenever we had any queries they wouldn't hesitate to lend their hands to us. They helped us book a tour to see the main attractions there and we definitely enjoyed the experience. Location was perfect, near the train station, wakable to many restaurants. There was Saturday market in front of the hotel and in the surrounding area. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Selcuk.

Nobel Boutique Hotel'de geçirdiğimiz zaman boyunca her şey kusursuzdu. Otelin konumu şehrin merkezinde, tüm ana turistik yerlere ve restoranlara kolay erişim sağlıyor. Oda tasarımları zarif ve konforlu, ayrıca son derece temizdi. Personel son derece cana yakın ve yardımseverdi; bize şehir hakkında harika tavsiyelerde bulundular ve konaklamamızı mümkün olduğunca rahat geçirmemiz için ellerinden geleni yaptılar. Otelin sunduğu kahvaltı çeşitliliği ve kalitesi de beklenenden çok daha iyiydi. Nobel Boutique Hotel, şehirde geçireceğiniz zamanı unutulmaz kılmak için ihtiyacınız olan her şeye sahip. If there were to give 10 stars, I would need them for Nazar Hotel and its owner! The hotel is in a top location, easy to walk from there to the bus station, train station and all the restaurants and sights in Selcuk. We had a four bed room which was huge, spotless clean and cosy. The pool and garden are great to cool off; we also enjoyed food delivered there. The terrace where the breakfast is served, has incredible vistas of the Selçuk castle - a view we will never forget! The Turkish breakfast is delicious! A taxi to Ephesus is fast and cheap as the distance is not far. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, easy going and will do everything to not only make your stay a memorable one, but will also help and support with any other things. In our case we were waiting for contact lenses to be delivered to the hotel; they did not arrive on time from abroad so the owner then managed to have them delivered to us in Antalya on the same day. I don’t even want to know the hassle we put him through for this - for the owner it was the most normal thing to do; that is how he is and how he runs the hotel! 10 stars and more!

19 haziran'da Selçuk'ta düzenlenen Efes ultra maratonu için 2 gece konakladık.Otele girdiğimiz andan çıktığımız ana kadar çok samimi karşılandık.Bizim için sabahın 5 buçuğunda kahvaltılık bile hazırladılar. Otel yönetimine ve personeline çok teşekkür ederiz her türlü imkanı sağladıkları için.Tekrar görüşmek ümidiyle.

We spent two days at the hotel. The owner (Sevilay) was an amazing host. She helped us with everything. The breakfast is excellent, which huge variety of food. We enjoyed the trip in this hotel so much. Is near yo the center with a lot of restaurants and bars. The location for visiting Ephesus is very easy, also for the others interesting places. The room is very comfortable and carefully decorated. We highly recommend this hotel and also thanks Sevilay for her kindness and help at any moment.

One of those places that exceeds expectations, especially in service which top notch, 5 star! We were served an elaborate breakfast of fresh figs, assorted homemade jams made by a owner mother in Anatayla (must try the fig and the cherry jam) basket of breads, eggs, and a scrumptious savoury sausage tomato & capsicum baked dish. We ate on our balcony off the honeymoon suite. The white cloth table service at dinner under fairy lights in walnut trees also a pleasure! There is a good selection of local wines. The accommodation is homey, clean and comfortable. I spent the afternoon lounging in cushy cabana by the cool pool enjoying the peace and quiet. They also helped us source a private guide to pick us up and take us through Ephesus.
