Ulasan The Stay Classic Hotel Myeongdong

The location is excellent. Namsan Market is right across the street, Lotte Department Store and Duty-Free Shop are just a block to the left, and Shinsegae Department Store and Duty-Free Shop are diagonally across the street. Myeongdong shopping street is located between the two department stores. Gyeongbokgung Palace is within 3 km, and N Seoul Tower is also very close. For dining, just turn left and then left again from the hotel exit, and you'll find a street with local restaurants. However, the service is very basic. Disposable items in Korea are charged separately, and the toilet and shower are combined in one space. The wardrobe is inside a garment care machine, and detergent for the drum washing machine needs to be purchased extra. Luggage storage is in lockers in the basement, costing 10,000 Korean Won for over 4 hours with a progressive rate. There's no breakfast, and although there's a Chinese restaurant next door offering a 13,800 won set meal, no one seems to eat there. Guests are diverse, with a majority being Chinese. Rooms facing the street are relatively quiet, but the single beds are a bit small. Communication with the front desk in English was seamless.

Overall it was decent. Nothing too fancy but it has everything you need.

The hotel is very accessible. Bus stop is just right in front. Very safe at night to stroll around the area. Room is clean and towels are  change everyday. Will definitely stay again. Staff are friendly and accommodating . Airport bus is just around the corner or if want to booked an airport taxi instead, hotel can do it for you . Also have th option for late check out at 3pm at a very moderate rate

The place was good. Clean and easily accessible. Walking distances to buses and train and local attractions. Reception was very helpful

The Stay Classic Hotel at Myeongdong was amazing and the rooms were perfect for two people, even a third person if needed. The rooms were clean and just enough to shower and sleep in. The rooms were a bit on the small size but that didn’t matter to us. A huge plus was having the washing machine in the rooms. We went in the winter time so the room was warm enough to dry our clothes instead of having to use the dryer downstairs. Perfect time at a perfect place!! It even snowed on us…

Location is ok. 10-15mins Walking distance to cityhall, hyeohon, seoul station. Cons: Toilet is very cramp. there is no segregation between the dry and wet area. And the place to hang your towel is just right beside the shower. Bed is as hard as rock…. There is washing machine in the room but no dryer in the room, only styler(?).

I booked a Junior Suite Double. Room was decently spacious with a huge balcony. Location was great. It was about 10mins walking distance to both Hoehyeon Station (Seoul Subway Line 4) and City Hall Station(Seoul Subway lines 1 (Blue Line) and 2 (Green Line)). It's also right across Namdaemun Market and walking distance to Myeongdong. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but the breakfast is from a restaurant from Level 1, so I did not eat as there were plenty of options nearby. BEWARE: 1) The cleanliness of the room is very bad. I was bitten constantly when I lie on the bed that I needed to power myself everytime before I get onto the bed. This could be a potential bed bug issue. 2) The Service attitude by one of the receptionists named "Crystal - a Korean" was atrocious and horrible. In addition, her command/comprehension of English was terrible. When I had some questions made to her, she does not seem to understand and answered differently (This went on a few times) till 2 guests tried to help by translating what I meant to Crystal. But on both occasions, she actually explained to the guests what i wanted/asked, instead of me telling the guest my question so that the guest can help translate my question correctly in korean to her. In the 1st place, she does not even understand my question, so I do not know why she keep on preventing me from explaining my questions to the guests. Whats worse is that when I tried to explain to the guest what my questions were, she cut me off (which was plain rude). In addition, she was the only reception that did not greet the guest(or me), as all other receptions were all very friendly and greeted me when I went out or come in but I saw her speaking happily to other koreans. In a service-oriented industry and also a country such as South korea reknown for their customer service, she is definitely a disgrace and is not suited to be in a customer facing role. Based on this poor experience with the service staff and also the bed bugs issue, I definitely do not recommend this hotel.

Excellent location with accessibility to Hoehyeon station subway exit 6. It is near dongdaemun market with lots of eateries, shopping and the Airport Limousine pickup is nearby. There is also a washer in the room!

Good location walking distance to shopping area in Myeongdong. Room is clean with washer inside.

Very close to Namdaemun Market, so have many local food. Walk to MYEONGDONG about 15minutes , walk to the Palace 20minutes, great location, nice staf

Love it! Walking distance to myeondong street, walking distance to city hall and seoul station. Near a palace too!

Location is not far from Myeongdong shopping street. The hotel does not provide any toiletries.

We stayed 5 nights and satisfied with room amenities especially the washing machine, do remember to bring your own detergent. Please note the hotel does not provide free luggage storage so be prepared to pay for self luggage service at the basement if your departure is late afternoon or night. We love the balcony as it looks out to the Sungnyemun Gate. Location is opposite Namdaemun market which has good food options.
