my partner and I stayed here for a week. The location is good and the views are amazing. People are friendly. What surprised me is that the breakfast was not included in the price and to be honest 7,5 euros per person for breakfast is too much, especially what's offered and knowing that if you take breakfast in a local cafe you might pay 3 or 4 per person. The hotel needs urgent maintenance. We had a safe in the room that we could not use as it was not working.

We booked this hotel not knowing much about it from the U.S. we are staying 19 days and it is a wonderful hotel. The people are very nice and professional. The room is very basic like we were looking for and very clean. The breakfast has a great variety of breads and fruit with eggs and sausages. The coffee is very good with a wide variety. I would recommend this to anyone that doesn’t need a fancy place to stay with great service and clean rooms. Thank you Hotel Litau for a great stay.

I visited Portugal on a group tour that included stays at three pousadas. A big takeaway from my experience is that pousadas are remarkably variable. Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes, was fantastic, while Conimbriga Hotel Do Paço was abysmal. This one, Pousada Castelo Palmela, was somewhere in-between. I recommend you choose your pousada carefully. The positives of Pousada Castelo Palmela are many and significant. It’s a magnificent building with fantastic views. I recommend you save some time to explore the fortress the hotel is part of, and, when weather permits, you go to the west side of the pousada’s grounds to enjoy a lovely sunset. However, the staff of this pousada could improve. I got the impression that the place was understaffed, and not all staff were fully trained. Dining was disappointing; the pousada’s restaurant has limited capacity and books up quickly, and there are few if any local restaurants to use as an alternative. To solve this, you could book half board, or reserve your dinner table well in advance. However, I don’t recommend that because, as well as being small relative to the number of guest rooms, the restaurant isn’t very good. My dinners here were frankly awful – uninspired and badly served, often cold. I recommend you go grocery shopping and bring food with you when you return to the hotel, or use Uber Eats to have your dinner delivered (as I did).

Accueil parfait, petit déjeuner complet et copieux avec des œufs brouillés, croissants, brownies,pomme, kiwi, flans, abricot, pruneau, café, thé, jus d orange, pain aux céréales, brioches, etc. Personnel très agréables et professionnels. Coin pour les enfants avec toboggan et piscine, partie ombragée sous les arbres bien entretenus par les jardiniers. Grande chambre confortable et très propre. Literie confortable. Salle de bain spacieuse et propre. La réceptionniste et le serveur du petit-déjeuner sont réactif et a l écoute. Merci pour ce séjour reposant dans cette belle région.

Not a pretty looking hotel from the outside but very modern inside. Very professional staff and a high level of service. We had difficulty with the parking garage which was difficult to access and egress. Rooms were quite large, clean and comfortable with a small balcony and a small water view. We had lunch in their beautiful dining room which was a set menu of 20 euros, the food was excellent and very well presented, service was superb. Breakfast was superior with tons of variety. We were also given a free drink at the bar. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Location is wonderful, and so is the whole building and surroundings. But comparing price/quality there is really something missing. We spent 3 nights in weekend High season, but there was no management at all.We had to wait more than 3 hours before we could have our room, although we send a mail to ask for an earlier check in than 16.00. Not possible, we have to waited till 16.15 . We have been in many 5 stars places all over the world, but never had this situation. Thanks to Mr Joao de Sousa we we're calm down. He treated and helped us later with everything, and that made our stay good. Our superior terras room was located perfect, clean and cool, but the decoration is for that price some dated. The bathroom very small and not really comfortable. In the adults pool only three umbrellas, to protect all the guests from the sun. sunbeds we're not very clean, and the pool towels, is really not done, in a 5 star Hotel member of the Leading hotels of the world. The quality of the breakfast was 3 stars, only 2 sorts of unripe fruit, and no fresh bread at all. We have had diner several times, at the fantastic Terras outside, but please put mores covering to protect people for the extreme sunburning. quality of the food was good, specially my fish was perfect prepared, and again I say, the very kind service of Mr Joao, David, and several other members of the restaurant was really touching. They did their job more than fantastic. So overall, the place has so many strong assets, location, building, history, surroundings, but some for us important details we're missing, and the feeling that there was no management to talk with, but the location is Portugal on it's best! I have just returned from this hotel and I could not fault it in regard to the hotel cleanliness and hospitality. Most of the hotel staff have good English and are there if you need any help or if you need to order a cab. The continental breakfast was lovely with lots of food on offer. Good beer and lovely seating area around the pool for rest and a chill. Do not buy food as an evening meal as these are just ready meal and are not nice, no fresh food prepared here. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is that the hotel is in the middle of no where. There are no convenience shops, no bus routes, no trains. If you need to go some where or go out for the day you need to order a cab/taxi. The hotel is on the main motorway so you are unable to walk anywhere as it is dangerous. If you are just needing a rest and are not planning on going out of the hotel it's highly recommended but for sight seeing of Setubal, I would try a different hotel unless you have spare money for cabs.

Good hotel, friendly staff, nice pool & restaurant, in a good location. Quite a way up a steepish hill, but they provide a service to take you up/down if you prefer not to walk it. Breakfast has a good choice of foods. Sesimbra itself is a great seaside town & it’s lovely to walk along the seafront, with a great selection of restaurants & bars to visit.
