Pod Inn (Shanghai Pudong Airport)

It was easily the smelliest place during my trip to China, in part likely due to the windows opening onto a murky river. It's bearable for a one-night stay if you're travelling solo and not too particular about cleanliness, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything longer.

The girls at the front desk were extremely nice and informative. They have lots of times that the free bus runs to the airport. Worth a stay if you have an early morning flight the next day.

Im baffled by this high rating, I would only give it 2 stars maximum. First off be careful when booking a two person room here as they only allow men to book those rooms. I had to pay and extra 80rmb to get a single room. The lady at the desk said on the Chinese booking apps it's clearly stated,but since I can't read Chinese the relevance of what she had to say to me in respect of that response is irrelevant. Trip. Com should really adjust this rating because if they consider newly renovated as painting over everything including rust as an upgrade it's pretty sad. Amenities are below par and slippers are multi use,which is disgusting, so bring your own!! The shower door was basically a piece of unmovable glass on rusted wheels. So major safety hazard to even move. I guess the saving grace on the price is it includes a shuttle to the airport. Also the entire building was musty ,old and smelled of cigarettes and mould.yuck!
