Ulasan Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai

Booked this place for New Year's Eve, and it was excellent value for money. My child absolutely loved the hotel, especially the little cats in the garden. Every evening, walking past after dinner, we'd see kind people feeding them, which my child adored. We booked a suite because we had a tutor coming the next day, and the price for the suite was fantastic. Breakfast was quite crowded, and we had to queue for a bit. I initially thought there wouldn't be much variety, but it turned out to be pretty decent! The Japanese breakfast was good, though I didn't try the burdock mixed rice. They gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, which we took with us even though we don't drink. Overall, I thought it was great! On our way out, we even went to the second floor to pick up two boxes of fresh meat mooncakes. My parents really enjoyed them, but you do need to order them via a mini-program.

The room was very clean, the view was beautiful, and the service was excellent. They even offered a free late check-out and helped with parking, which was a great experience!

The hotel's exterior is grand and has a historic feel. The rooms are clean and tidy, though the facilities are a bit old, they are well-maintained. However, the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which should have been noted on Trip.com or communicated to guests via phone, as noise can be heard in the rooms. Breakfast is decent, quite Japanese-style. Free parking is available for guests and they'll tell you it's valid until 3 PM the next day. I only stayed one night, so I didn't experience much of the service.

Walking past the lobby bar, I can't help but remember the glass I broke and tweaking my back back then~ [wipes away tears with a smile] 🏨 I must say, even though it's an old-school hotel and the facilities and design style are quite dated, it still has its unique charm. The service quality of the Okura brand is also very much on point~ The dinner included in the package was pretty good too. 📚 The book is a tough read, but in this place that holds so many of my youthful memories, my heart feels exceptionally peaceful~ ❤️

The room was spotless, and the service was excellent. The environment is also very pleasant, with a lovely garden perfect for a leisurely stroll. It's also super close to Huaihai Road and other shopping malls.

I come to Shanghai every two or three months, and I always stay here. **Ambiance:** The red maple leaves in the garden have turned, and they're so beautiful. It truly lives up to its reputation as a Japanese-managed hotel; even the environmental details have that special touch. This is why I love this hotel. Plus, the express checkout is super convenient. **Service:** This time, I felt the service quality had declined a bit. I called for things to my room twice and had to wait a long time, then call to follow up. Especially when the room heating wasn't enough, I was freezing while waiting. Later, the housekeeper proactively brought an extra blanket. However, as a loyal guest, I didn't feel a special sense of belonging. **Facilities:** The remote control by the bed is really difficult to use. The settings jump around, and it's hard to tell what you're adjusting. It's usually fine, but in winter, the room temperature just wouldn't go up. It was truly freezing. **Breakfast:** Still delicious.

First off, upon check-in, the hotel only then informed us about significant noise and required us to sign a waiver. This information was not available on the booking interface. Had I known this in advance on the booking page, I wouldn't have chosen this hotel. The front desk claimed it was in the hotel policy section, but my screenshot showed no such thing, and even when I handed my phone to them to find the relevant notice, they couldn't locate it either. Apparently, some people on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) have experienced the same issue. Then, I left an item in my room and reported it to the hotel as lost and found, but I received no follow-up from them all day. Finally, during check-out, the hotel didn't proactively ask if we needed a parking voucher. We only realized we had to pay 160 yuan for parking when we reached the exit, which made us go back to the front desk. I believe it's reasonable for the front desk to offer this proactively. In summary, this experience does not justify the 1000 yuan per night room rate. The stay was not good.

The facilities are a bit old, but they are absolutely spotless. The service is very prompt; I requested an extra pair of slippers when checking in, and by the time I got to my room upstairs, they were already there. The view is also great.

This veteran five-star hotel in Shanghai still offers excellent service, maintaining its five-star standard from concierge to the executive lounge. The room size is indeed a bit smaller compared to newly opened luxury hotels, and the ceiling height is also quite low. The stains in the toilet's side seams, which weren't cleaned properly, definitely need attention. It's also a bit disappointing that the mini-bar in the executive floor rooms doesn't offer a complimentary round. As a descendant of the Garden Hotel's original staff, I sincerely hope the hotel can maintain its former foreign brand image and service quality. I look forward to the renovated veteran hotel better meeting the needs of current guests and forever upholding Shanghai's high-end hotel image.

Overall, the room was quite clean, but as it's an older hotel, some of the facilities felt a bit dated and not as convenient. The staff were incredibly enthusiastic; I'd especially like to thank Xiaoyun and Xiaozhou at the front desk for their proactive help in adjusting my room. The festive atmosphere for Christmas was also a nice touch!

Facilities: The old Shanghai style is well-equipped and brings back a sense of nostalgia. Hygiene: Both the lobby and the rooms are exceptionally clean. Environment: The Japanese breakfast noodles are particularly delicious. Service: Although the service staff are older, they are all very elegant and professional in their demeanor and presentation, and very gentle. It's worth staying here, highly recommended!

The Garden Hotel Shanghai offers an absolutely superb experience. Located on Maoming South Road in the city center, right next to Huaihai Road, it boasts excellent transport links. Managed by Okura Hotels & Resorts, it beautifully blends the charm of an old French building with a modern main tower, all set within a lovely garden. The rooms are spotless and tidy, and the service is exceptionally attentive. The hotel's restaurants serve a wide array of delicious food, with both European French fine dining and Chinese cuisine receiving high praise.

The hotel's service was thoughtful and meticulous, and the soundproofing was excellent. The surrounding transportation was convenient, and I was very satisfied with everything. The hotel has a long history and a Japanese-style aesthetic. The night view was also beautiful. I felt very comfortable during my trip. I will definitely come back again; the service attitude was particularly great.
