Echarm Hotel Shanghai North Bund Tilanqiao subway station

Location is near Tilanqiao metro (Line 12 Exit 1). No food options near the hotel, the nearest would be the Raffles City North Bund mall. The suite room is a good size at a good price. Room is a comfy size with a separate living room and bedroom. Bed is firm, the way I like it. They offer firm and soft pillows and I found the perfect height in stacking the 2 firm pillows. Shower area is a little small but water pressure is decent, all basic toiletries are provided. I failed to notice there's no mini fridge until I checked in and unpacked. I like that the room flooring is non-carpeted, the bathroom is a little small with a lack of hooks but not an issue since I'm alone. Love the open wardrobe which is great for me to lay out all my stuff. The laundry room has 3 washers and 2 dryers, as well as a standing steam iron. Works perfectly, taking an hour for wash, 1.5 hrs for drying. They do have a robot sending parcels / deliveries to the room but no smart tech in the room itself. The lobby smells a little of cigarettes though the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. Staff are friendly and helpful, they are also very responsive on the app and addresses requests quickly.

The room was clean and the housekeeping  staff were friendly. Able to early check in. Easy to walk to subway and have the shopping mall nearby. Overall was very nice experience and affordable price.

I stayed here recently and, unfortunately, the experience was not very pleasant. The room had a strong smoking smell upon entering, and the overall cleanliness was below expectations. On top of that, the door was difficult to open and made a loud cracking sound each time, which was quite inconvenient. The air conditioning also did not work properly — it never really felt cold, making the stay uncomfortable. For the price charged, I believe there are definitely better and cleaner hotels available nearby that provide more comfort and value. This property would benefit greatly from improving room cleanliness, maintenance, and basic amenities before it can justify the current room rate.
