Stayed only for 2 night, and it’s not cheap. But I would say it cost every penny of it. The best location with amazing view, especially at outdoor pool sight. Overall rooms are very clean and spacious. I recommend to stay at corner club room, it’s has very magnificent views.

This is genuinely the worst hotel I've ever booked on Trip.com. I've used Trip.com for so long, and this is the first time I've ever had to complain about a hotel's service through them. Firstly, a room costing over 4,300 RMB per night isn't exactly cheap, is it? I left a note when booking, mentioning it was for an anniversary stay, and hoped the hotel could arrange an early check-in around 1 PM. However, two hours after completing the check-in process, no one had contacted me. During this time, I went to the hotel's Western restaurant for lunch; both steaks were impossible to chew, and the salad was awful. Is it appropriate to charge over 500 RMB for steaks of such poor quality? After two hours, I went to the front desk myself to ask, and that's when they told me a room was finally ready – not a single apology. I got the room card, and no one even told me where the elevator was or how to get to the room; I had to figure it out myself. As soon as I entered the room and went to wash my hands, I saw a hair on the sink. Extremely annoyed, I immediately contacted Trip.com customer service. A housekeeping staff member came, looked at it, wiped it, and left. Later that afternoon, my family called to request an extra bed. Trip.com customer service then contacted me, saying they had spoken to the hotel, and the hotel agreed to provide the extra bed for free and a complimentary fruit plate. However, I never saw the 'promised' fruit plate, even when I checked out at 8 AM the next morning. Everything in the mini-bar was chargeable. The service staff at the elevator were enthusiastic and said hello to foreigners but were expressionless when they saw Chinese guests. Honestly, Trip.com's service is excellent, and I will continue to book hotels through them for future trips, but I will *never* stay at this hotel again!

Facilities: Spacious and bright, with a great sense of design. Cleanliness: Spotless. Environment: Excellent location. Service: Proactive and thoughtful, with great attention to detail.

It was a great stay at the W and the room was very nice and clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Celebrated a birthday here and was surprised with a cake and card. Breakfast was the best I’ve had at a hotel in a while. Room was perfect. Staff went above and beyond. Couldn’t recommend enough.

The Marriott W Hotel boasts an excellent location with stunning views, offering a panoramic sight of the Oriental Pearl Tower and the 'three giants' (referring to the Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, and Shanghai Tower). The large curved glass windows are a highlight. The view becomes even more spectacular at night when the city lights up. The room's environment and hygiene are also very good.

The service was excellent! I was pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade upon arrival. The late checkout until 2 PM was a real lifesaver. This is a huge plus, as Banyan Tree, for instance, was completely inflexible about late checkouts, which is partly why I chose W instead. I hope this late checkout option remains available!

I booked this hotel after seeing pictures online, only to find it reflected a rather rundown side of Shanghai. I've stayed at other Bund hotels like the Wanda Reign, and that experience was far superior to the W. I booked a river-view twin room at the W for 4600. The moment I arrived at the W's front desk, I noticed thick dust on the lampshades. Unsurprisingly, the room's windows were coated in a thick film of grime. All drinks and snacks in the room were chargeable, and even a flimsy shopping bag cost 80 RMB. Honestly, it feels like they're just selling retouched photos on Xiaohongshu, rather than providing a good environment or service at the hotel.

Might I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

The hotel's location is excellent; there's a mall, subway, and restaurants downstairs, making travel very convenient. It's also just a few minutes' walk to the Bund. However, the hotel breakfast is just average and definitely pales in comparison to the Park Hyatt or Regent hotels. With so many rooms, it feels like the service can't keep up.

We chose this uniquely themed hotel for our honeymoon, and it definitely has that trendy nightclub vibe. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside, and the decor is quite artistic. The hotel even gifted us a delicious small cake. However, the mini-fridge wasn't cooling. After we reported it, the hotel gave us a complimentary souvenir. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

The room I was given was a bit out of the way, and the view of the Bund was obstructed, so it wasn't ideal.

I've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined. First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience. Now, for the less satisfying aspects: 1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one. 2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them. 3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.

First off, there was an uncleaned hair clip left in the room. Secondly, if you're sensitive to light while sleeping, you'll definitely need an eye mask. The blue light from the wall-mounted Bluetooth speaker is very noticeable at night, and the TV's standby light is a bright red. These red and blue lights reflect off the colored acrylic decor, which can significantly disturb sleep.
