Comfortable room, with a nice view. Hot shower much appreciated after a day’s hiking. Great food. Very friendly owner took good care of us. Highly recommended.

The location is ok but the room is freezing in the winter. Nice view from the room.

We had a great overnight stay at Summit Inn, which is in the same village as the famed Tea Horse Trade Guesthouse along the Gorge Trail and a mere 10-minute car ride from the Gorge Scenic Platform, up an amazing switchback mountain road (look for the signpost "Summit Inn" in English/"Shanmei inn"/"Modern Beauty Inn" when you reach a fork in the upper road). Our room was very clean. It has a large wet bathroom with solar-powered hot water, modern flushing toilet, comfortable beds with electric blankets, outdoor clothes and gear drying rack and amazing views of Jade Dragon mountain peaks outside the window. Our host is warm and humble. Despite our poor command of Chinese language, we communicated well enough via Weixin (with translation help) and she offered water, meal options and hiking tips. She even helped us find a local driver for our onward journey to Shangri-La. We especially loved the peaceful rooftop area for star gazing at night, after having coffee and a meal at the busier Tea Horse Trade GH. We highly recommend staying here if you want a comfortable, tranquil alternative at the end of Day 1 of the Trail!

Summit Inn and the family is fantastic. Place was awesome. The family who manages this place was super kind and very helpful. Amazing hospitality!

We stayed here as our mid-point stop while hiking the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The location was easy to find, just about a minute further from the Tea Horse Guesthouse. The hotel is undergoing some renovation so it was a bit tricky for us to find the check-in. We think we accidentally went through the back entrance. Once we managed to check in, the host took us to our room right away. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. The hot water worked reliably but note that the bathroom has a wet toilet. The view of the Yulong Mountain from the room is spectacular. There is a restaurant at the hotel but we did not get a chance to try it. Due to the renovations, the rooftop space mentioned in other reviews is also not accessible. We did have tea (free) and coffee (paid) there the next morning before setting out to continue our hike. Overall, the hostess was very sweet and we would recommend staying here! Note: If you speak English, note that the signs are a bit confusing as it is sometimes referred to as Summit Inn but sometimes they use the direct translation from Chinese of Mountain Beauty Inn.

Very nice view out of the room. We leverage the tea horse for our dinner and breakfast. Place is very clean. Be aware if you are not hiking you need local taxi to bring you up the mountain

The location was right on the way of Tiger leaping gorge - Upper trail. Close to Tea horse, the hard part to find was that on Maps is says "Shanmei inn" and on the sign leading there it says "Modern beauty". But I got there in the end and I guess its only a bit confusing since I don't speak any Chinese. The facilities were nice and room was clean. Can also go up on the roof terrace to admire the view. Service was also great, I had some issues getting tickets from Tina's to Shangri-La, since it was during national holiday tickets gets sold out quickly. But the landlord helped me and in the end I could continue my trip according to plan :)

Great location great view! Inn is higher on the mountain so you will have stunning views from the room, balcony, roof terrace. Inn directly on the hiking trail. Very nice to hike here. Take the trail to the west to the waterfall beautiful! Better then going east. We came from Lijiang with car and were stopped to pay the area ticket 35rmb/person 25rmb for the driver. Peak season expect big traffic jam from this. Room was ok, basic. Views are good. Dinner here was nice and owner gave very helpful hiking tips! Negative: charged us 100 rmb just to drive us down to the road. 10minutes. Because hotel is very isolated you are in the hands of the local drivers if you have not your own car; they charge a lot. 150rmb from gorge to inn with car. Gorge is beautiful to go down! If need bus to Lijiang they can stop for you down the road, 50rmb/person. Book and mention pickup in advance. Inn next door also have western food. Beautiful surroundings!
