Stayed 3 days / 2 nights in January 2026 at this hotel for snowboarding.
Location
Very isolated and quiet — no nearby shops, restaurants, or convenience stores (basement of hotel has one, pretty good) outside the hotel. You definitely need a car to get around. The ski resort is about 10 minutes away by car (not walkable; it's along the freeway). Ski rental shops are scattered in the area — resort rentals have basics but can sell out in peak season. For more stylish/fun options or variety, check Little Red Book for independent shops.
Check-in, staff & extras
We booked a package with free train station pickup, breakfast, and a reindeer visit. The driver (a friendly third-party guy, friends with the manager) was fantastic — drove a 2010 SUV that fits 6 people snugly. He acted like a personal guide: recommended places to eat, took us to the reindeer area, showed us rental shops, drove us to/from the ski resort, and was super patient and smiling. He probably adds a small upcharge, but it was worth it for the help.
Hotel staff were excellent too. After dropping bags, we were hungry around 2 pm. The basement has a cheap, well-stocked convenience store and a breakfast buffet restaurant. We ordered from the menu (a bit pricey), and they kindly gave us a free dish of Sichuan spicy cold veggies — really tasty!
Room
Double twin beds, standard size but exceptionally clean and bright thanks to large windows. Central heating makes it warm (sometimes too warm), but windows open fully — big plus. Water heater lasts only 15–20 minutes, so shower efficiently (no long soaks). Beds are medium-firm (not too hard/soft), pillows quite flat. Housekeeping was good overall (fresh towels, vacuumed/mopped floors, trash emptied), but they didn't change or even tidy the bedsheets — we came back to the same messy bed from morning. We also accidentally opened the window before leaving the room because we were getting too hot in our snowboard gear. So when we returned to our room later that day, the room was FREEZING (6 degrees). The cleaning staff didn't realize the window was open!! Took an hour for the temperature to reach back to normal.
Breakfast
Decent, not amazing. Highlights: fresh sunny-side eggs cooked to order and made-to-order noodles. Mostly Chinese options — noodles, fried noodles, dumplings, congee, Chinese sausages, machine coffee, fake orange juice, soy milk. No big variety, but it's the only real option nearby, so it's fine.
Overall
Great hotel — we'd definitely return! It's relatively new, with spacious interiors, very clean and comfy rooms, good lighting, friendly staff, and solid breakfast. The isolated location is the main downside (car essential), but perfect if you're focused on snowboarding and don't mind the quiet. Good value for a ski trip base.
