Hotel di Shenzhen Coastal City/Hou Hai, Shenzhen

Had high hopes at UrCove but we were disappointed with the service. It's not that the staff were rude, but they were somewhat lacking the service you normally get at a hotel under the Hyatt group and for this price range. It felt a bit difficult to get in touch with the concierge if you don't know Chinese. We wanted to check if we could get an extra 1hr for a late check out without leaving the room, but it took us a while to get onto the wechat mini program and find service. But then, no one responded so we just left at 12pm. I also realised our booking included free beer from the bar which no one reminded us - at other hotels, the staff always mentions about these. The pros for this hotel are the location, the view and the large rooms with the smart toilet and smart black out curtains and we slept very well. It is about 10mins walk to Coastal City and around 20mins walk to the new MixC which was really nice as it was a bit cooler these days. Although the hotel was all very clean, the carpet in the corridor to the rooms was already dirty with several stains. The breakfast spread was also lacking with limited options and the quality needs to be improved for this price range. There is free laundry service by the gym but the gym was tiny with only has 2 treadmills and 1 elliptical machine and weights. A gym of this size is what you can get at a 300RMB/night price range hotel. Our package came with ”welcome fruit” which came but nothing special. See pic #4. I suggest to just get the standard room or wait for a super good deal, if you were to stay here as it's still pleasant so you won't expect too much.

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment, and my overall stay was comfortable and relaxing. The surrounding area is quiet. One thing to note is that you can't be dropped off or picked up directly at the hotel entrance. Whether arriving from the airport or checking out and heading to the next hotel, you'll need to walk about 5 minutes from the drop-off/pick-up point to reach the hotel itself. Also, the TV remote wasn't working properly during my stay, and I had to call the front desk for assistance several times. I hope these small details can be improved in the future. Overall, it's still a recommended hotel.

From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in an atmosphere of tranquility and luxury that lived up to the Shangri-La name. Here are the highlights of our visit: 1. Impeccable Service & Warm Welcome: The service was the standout feature. We were fortunate to be taken care of by Hebe and her colleagues at the Horizon Club, whose service consistently went above and beyond. They always offered assistance with a genuine desire to help. I was particularly touched on one occasion when my Alipay wasn't working to pay the taxi driver; a staff member at the door helped me pay the driver, which relieved me from the hassle and embarrassment. 2. Stunning Room with a View: We stayed in a Horizon Club Room with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Shenzhen Bay area. The room was not the most spacious but was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed. The decoration showed great attention to detail and redefined the concept of luxury. The bathroom amenities were from John Masters; they smelled wonderful but were a bit difficult to wash off as they are oil-based. 3. Exceptional Dining Experiences: The breakfast buffet on the 66th floor was phenomenal. The variety was astounding, featuring everything from freshly baked pastries and a dedicated noodle station to Western classics and healthy options. The Horizon Club lounge was a peaceful haven with delicious and delicate canapés at afternoon tea and a sumptuous dinner during the happy hour in the evenings. I found the food there to be among the very best offered by top-notch hotels in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). 4. The Pool and Recreation Facilities: The hotel’s indoor infinity pool is a masterpiece. Swimming while looking out over the bay through floor-to-ceiling windows was a surreal and relaxing experience. The gym was huge and well-equipped. However, the temperature was a bit warm for a genuine workout. 5. Prime Location: The location in Nanshan is perfect for both business and leisure. It's situated in the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, a future major commercial and business district in Shenzhen's Nanshan District. As the area is still under construction, the immediate surroundings are not yet fully engaging. However, it is still very easy and convenient to get to major malls nearby. Verdict: The Nanshan Shangri-La is more than just a hotel; it's a destination. It perfectly balances business-like efficiency with resort-like relaxation. We left feeling completely pampered and recharged. I would not hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shenzhen. Perfect for: Luxury travelers, couples, business trips, and special occasions.

I stayed in one of the hotel's suites. The suite was spacious and boasted an excellent design. What truly stood out was the thoughtful, human-centric care evident in the smallest details. For instance, the specially placed hooks on the luggage rack by the entrance – seemingly minor, yet they perfectly solved the common dilemma of where to conveniently place keys, room cards, or small shopping bags upon entering the room. This small detail instantly created a positive first impression. The extensive collection of books in the room transformed the space, making it feel less like a hotel room and more like a private library or study. Enveloped by these carefully curated books and art albums, time seemed to slow down, allowing for complete relaxation and moments of serene contemplation. The hotel's service was equally commendable. From the initial booking, a dedicated butler thoughtfully contacted us to provide guidance. Throughout our stay, whether explaining the hotel's design philosophy or fulfilling our needs, their responses were consistently prompt and professional. Overall, it was a truly satisfying stay, well worth revisiting!

Shenzhen Kempinski Hotel - Excellent Service from Julia My recent stay at the Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen left a deep impression, all thanks to Julia's thoughtful service. When I checked in, she proactively provided information about local transportation. Upon learning I was there for a business trip, she kindly informed me about the hotel's meeting room facilities and express printing services – truly attentive to every detail. During my stay, I casually mentioned some discomfort in my neck. To my surprise, when I returned to my room that evening, I found an extra latex pillow. It turned out Julia had specially arranged for it to be sent. Later, when I needed a late check-out, she quickly helped communicate and resolve it. Her service throughout was efficient and genuinely heartwarming. The hotel itself boasts a superb location and comfortable bedding, but Julia's service truly enhanced the feeling of being at home. Her unobtrusive yet consistently considerate care was unforgettable. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Shenzhen!

I absolutely have to rave about this hotel! William at the front desk truly elevated my experience here (yes, that's the handsome guy in photo 2!). His warm welcome, the complimentary welcome fruits, and detailed explanations, along with his meticulous attention during both check-in and check-out, left a fantastic impression. The 24-hour gym is a given, and its transparent window design really helps you feel refreshed and invigorated. The location is also excellent, with convenient transport links, making it a great choice for both leisure and business trips. Overall, it offers excellent value for money. The most delightful aspect of this stay was the thoughtful service from the AnYan Hotel's front office concierge team. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, every detail made us feel truly cared for. Especially when Carl Lucas Demi arrived with a large suitcase, the concierge immediately stepped forward to assist. During check-in, they swiftly verified our information and even smiled, saying, ”You mentioned you prefer quiet, and the higher floors offer better views and more tranquility.” When we were leaving, our luggage was already loaded into the car, saving us any extra effort throughout. This kind of professional and warm service left me with a fantastic impression of the hotel. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit!
