Great location, great food, clean and incredible staff. They made our stay very much comfortable and memorable. Food is really superb they have a pure vegetarian restaurant, must try their indian cuisine special dal makhani, aloo dum. Most recommended places to visit and stay in shillong.

Very wonderful location close to the main city market. Yet peaceful. Very well kept rooms and clean smelling towels and sheets. The food was amazing and the team went out of the way to help us with some amazing customized food. Big thanks to Fedrick, Diwakar, Alfa, Aiti, and few other girls ...and chef Babalu. Verdy at the front desk was amazingly helpful and made our stay very special with his hospitality and guidance. Rajasri was very kind to make our stay awesome by keeping guest relations above everything else. Last but not the least, the ever smiling and friendly Hilter who really was warm and helpful without any expectations...that was very nice gesture. So I said ”Hail Hilter” to him :)) Lovely experience overall and am looking to be back.

This is a simple, clean and quiet place to stay at while at Shillong. The rooms are large enough for a couple. The property is in a quieter part of the town. The staff at the reception, are friendly and efficient. The only area for improvement is breakfast. It is too simple. If they could add some fruit to begin with, it would make a big difference.

The hotel is excellent. Staff behaviour is awesome and they are very helpful people. Restaurant ***** with the hotel is too good and most important part is everything in the hotel and its restaurant is clean. Also the fresh food has been served always. Overall experience is excellent.

Orange Homestay is an excellent accommodation and is above Frank motors (Tata motors dealer). The rooms are spacious and very clean. The terrace is awesome as they have many flowering plants which are blooming. The food is also good but at times the wait time is more. The staff are very helpful and service oriented. They don't expect Tips. Very polite and well mannered. Breakfast options are limited but serving is generous and unlimited. There is only 1 chef and he arrives around 7 am. So the earliest you can expect the Breakfast is at 7:30 am. It would be either of Poori or Bhature or Aloo Paratha ***** with bread toast and bread sandwich. Whatever they cook is tasty. Coming to the drawbacks. 1) No lift. If you get room at 3rd floor then it will be difficult for elderly 2) The accommodation is on Laitmor/Mawblei main road which is always busy and very noisy. Sleeping in the night will be slightly difficult due to the vehicles making noise. 3) Very far away from Police bazaar. You need at least 1 hour by car to reach police bazaar though the distance is only 6 kms. Shillong traffic is pathetic. Taxi guys fleece you. It costed us 400 to come from Police Bazar to Orange homestay. There is no car parking as well at Police bazaar. So if you are keen to spend time on shopping then Orange homestay may not be the right place. We stayed in room 111 at 3rd floor and the room is massive in size. Very thoughtfully stocked with hot packs, geyser, Air conditioning which can also double up as heater, extra blankets etc.

Absolutely worth it! We only stayed at the pear tree for one night but wish we could have stayed longer! Even with one night the owner and staff made such an impression. The room is elegant (beautifully furnished) with original hardwood floors and a proper place for your luggage. We needed to arrange a driver to go to the airport, they booked us one right away. If you are coming to Shillong, this is the place to stay. The location is great, the people are incredibly friendly, and breakfast is provided. The taxi driver didn’t know how to get to it at first but the hotel staff happily got on the phone with the driver and we had no problems getting there after that. If you need any suggestions on where to go they also have great knowledge of the area and surrounding areas. We hope to come again.

Aanubhav0330We stayed at LadyBird for 3 nights. The best part about this hotel is their staff and the service provided by them. They are ever smiling, ever ready to go that extra mile to help. Sam became very very dear to us during this trip. He is extremely professional and yet very friendly. Very sweet human being. We thank Sam and the team for making us feel at home. Loved the food at this hotel as well.

PPengguna TetamuWe were a group and we booked the suite. It is a huge room with 1 king bed, 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. 5 people can comfortably stay there and it also has 2 private balconies. The first night was terrible for us as in such a huge room there was just one small wall fan and hence we had to open the windows which resulted in a swarm of mosquitos coming in as it faces the lawn. As it is zostel, there was no service at night and the next morning we raised a complaint to the ***ager. He was the most helpful ***ager I have ever seen. He got everything done within hours and post that our stay was pleasant and so wonderful that we also extended for 2 more nights. The entire staff is very accomodating, good to talk to and soft spoken. The food at the restaurant is delicious and they also cater to individual needs. The only drawback is that they are extremely slow. If the cafe is full, do not expect your order to be served for an hour. Morning breakfast times, we would give the order, go to the room.. have a bath and get ready and still the order would not have been prepared.. Coffees and drinks are given in a jiffy.. But nevertheless, they also catered to serve us at late hours by keeping the food ready for us even after the restaurant shut down. Overall, it is a wonderful stay.. There are some hiccups (which all hostels have unless you opt for a 5 star hotel) but the best part is they listen to your grievances and act immediately. A big kudos to Santosh - without his help, we would have been in a terrible soup.. He definitely deserves a raise.. Thank You Santosh for everything!

Firstly, the rooms are the same as shown in the pictures. The wooden floorings and lobby decor are lovely. The whole property consists of beautiful decor pieces,(side note- you can have Instagram-worthy pics everywhere on their property). The ambiance is calm and peaceful inside the property. The staff is also very lovely and friendly. But what I didn't like was the food was very expensive, and in the morning buffet there were not that many options which I would have preferred for the price. The services were good but you have to ping them again and again to provide the services. The exact location of this property is not pleasing but the main road and markets are nearby, so that is a good thing. The toiletries were in the bare minimum amount. Overall, for me, the experience at the price that you pay is not completely satisfactory.
