Room is very large and there are extra pillows, always a plus! Nice bathroom and shower. Big wardrobe with a safe. Kettle for tea and coffee in the room, with sugar and creamer. On site restaurant was very good, we had dinner there. Staff are lovely. Free parking across the street. In an odd spot, sort of a ***** mall with the entrance in the middle. Very comfy. Only negative was the lamps are a bit dim, but the room has a balcony!

We stayed for 2 nights, the room for 3 was basic but very spacious, comfortable beds, how ever the bathroom area has no door, the wc and shower both have a glass door that you can totally see through, and hear everything, very embarrassing! The hotel is very big and the food is great, breakfast, dinner, drinks- all nice and not too expensive. The service was not good, our room wasn’t ready when we got there, and when we finally got to it, the third bed wasn’t ready (no towels too), the breakfast payment was very hectic, and finally when it rained they wouldn’t open the gate for us to go in the parking area because “the parking is flooded “, after 5 (!) calls on the intercom, we managed to drive in and found a small puddle, not even close to a flood (our other car wasn’t even wet!). It was really stupid and rude and just unnecessary.

We stayed here for a night and it’s basic and fine. The breakfast just had the necessities like some eggs, bread, cheese, ham, etc. but it was good. They also had a nice coffee machine so if you want to drink a cappuccino you can! While the breakfast area was small, it was enough to seat quite a few guests. When we arrived (I believe it was around 8:30am) there were tables that were not cleared yet and during our breakfast only one of those tables was cleared and cleaned which is something they could improve so the guests don’t have to stare at trash all the time. The room did not have a fan or an airconditioning, which is fine, but we also could not open the windows at night because they did not have screens and there were quite a lot mosquitoes and other unwelcome guests waiting to get into our room. The windows were also extremely dirty which is quite disgusting since they open inwards. The beds were clean and the mattress was soft and surprisingly comfortable! The bathroom had soap and showergel/conditioner attached to the wall and the showerhead was small but powerful. For the elderly there was a chair in the shower so you could sit down. The towels were clean and there were two shower towels per person. (the smell in the room also gave away a lot of elderly stay there) The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful so for people wanting to cycle or hike its perfect. Outside the hotel is a seating area where you can drink something. The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of shade. While you drink your cold beverage you can enjoy the view of a small lake and fountain separating the hotel from a main road. We read online this was a 2 star hotel but it was worth 4 stars. In our opinion everything was fine but compared to other 2 and 3 star hotels we stayed at it is definitely not worth 4 stars. Definitely a hotel to consider for an event so you basically only have to sleep there. Een verblijf in Kasteel TerWorm is echt een belevenis. Vanaf het moment dat je het terrein oprijdt, voel je de bijzondere sfeer. Het kasteel heeft een prachtige tuin, waardoor je direct in een heerlijke “relaxmodus” komt. De service is top. Het personeel is vriendelijk en professioneel, ze zorgen ervoor dat je je van harte welkom voelt. Het eten in het restaurant was een hele culinaire belevenis. De gerechten waren creatief en elk bord was een plaatje. De wijnkeuze was uitstekend, inclusief deskundig advies van de sommelier. TerWorm geeft een unieke ervaring waarbij luxe, comfort en gastronomie samenkomen. Het is de ideale plek voor wie op zoek is naar een speciaal uitje. Absolute aanrader!!

Though we weren't expecting our rooms to be in the Kasteel itself, the accommodation in the modern blocks was corporate and dingy and though described as ”deluxe with a balcony” had no views of the ancient pile or anything of particular interest. To be honest, I have stayed in more interesting Travel Lodges in the UK and paid half the price. The whole place oozed mediocrity, from the check-in clerk who volunteered no recommendations on how to experience the Kasteel which was, in effect, sealed off to tourists, to our bathroom which had no natural light or air and a shower situated in the bath. All very disappointing. Dinner in the Old Water Mill was marred by a delay of 25 minutes before we saw a menu and extremely long gaps between courses which we put down to a shortage of kitchen staff or maybe a lack of english menus; both seemed plausible. The food itself was high quality/mid-range though definitely not gourmet or fine-dining. Oddly, Limburg wines were not included on the wine list but a very limited number of bottles from the best promoted vineyard in the region were available by the glass on request. The entremet was literally inedible though I appreciated the free glass of dessert wine I was given in compensation. Service had its faults such as asking us what we wanted to drink before we had been given any kind of drinks/wine list but was generally characterised by a sincere effort to provide attentive service. We opted not to have the breakfast buffet at 23 euros a throw and though the check-out clerk verbally acknowledged we hadn't partaken, somehow he included a line item on the bill ”breakfast excluded” which added 46 euros to the bill (yes, added) which we only discovered as we prepared to drive off. Utter stupidity and a symbolically apt end to our misadventure at Kasteel Vaalsbroek.

It's been some time since I visited a hotel where there was absolutely nothing to improve. But Chateau St. Gerlach was a perfect hotel. We booked a 2 room appartment and the appartment was roomy and cozy and most of all clean and complete. One living room on the ground floor and 2 bedrooms upstairs. Nice bathrooms with men and women grooming bags. Nice soft beds, and the price proved excellent value for money. We enjoyed a great breakfast and the staff was very proactive, very helpful. The hotel has excellent spa and swimming pool facilities, a church on the hotelground that is breathtakingly beautiful. The location could not be better. The grounds of the hotel are big but well kept, and surrounding the hotel are the hills of Valkenburg and some great walking areas. And I was not the only one who was excited, my wife and my family were equally thrilled. I think if you really wanna treat yourself when you are in the south of the Limburg province in Holland this is definitally the place to be. I think this venue will be in my personal top 5 of best hotels I ever slept in. A 100% recommendation by yours truely. Can't wait to return to this hotel in the future.

Fijn verblijf gehad bij Hotel Winselerhof. Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hebben hier voor de verjaardag van mijn vriend verbleven, daar had het personeel wat extra leuks voor op de kamer gezet. Daarnaast ook heerlijk gegeten. Beide restaurants zijn een aanrader.
