Room is very large and there are extra pillows, always a plus! Nice bathroom and shower. Big wardrobe with a safe. Kettle for tea and coffee in the room, with sugar and creamer. On site restaurant was very good, we had dinner there. Staff are lovely. Free parking across the street. In an odd spot, sort of a ***** mall with the entrance in the middle. Very comfy. Only negative was the lamps are a bit dim, but the room has a balcony!

We stayed for 2 nights, the room for 3 was basic but very spacious, comfortable beds, how ever the bathroom area has no door, the wc and shower both have a glass door that you can totally see through, and hear everything, very embarrassing! The hotel is very big and the food is great, breakfast, dinner, drinks- all nice and not too expensive. The service was not good, our room wasn’t ready when we got there, and when we finally got to it, the third bed wasn’t ready (no towels too), the breakfast payment was very hectic, and finally when it rained they wouldn’t open the gate for us to go in the parking area because “the parking is flooded “, after 5 (!) calls on the intercom, we managed to drive in and found a small puddle, not even close to a flood (our other car wasn’t even wet!). It was really stupid and rude and just unnecessary.

We stayed here for a night and it’s basic and fine. The breakfast just had the necessities like some eggs, bread, cheese, ham, etc. but it was good. They also had a nice coffee machine so if you want to drink a cappuccino you can! While the breakfast area was small, it was enough to seat quite a few guests. When we arrived (I believe it was around 8:30am) there were tables that were not cleared yet and during our breakfast only one of those tables was cleared and cleaned which is something they could improve so the guests don’t have to stare at trash all the time. The room did not have a fan or an airconditioning, which is fine, but we also could not open the windows at night because they did not have screens and there were quite a lot mosquitoes and other unwelcome guests waiting to get into our room. The windows were also extremely dirty which is quite disgusting since they open inwards. The beds were clean and the mattress was soft and surprisingly comfortable! The bathroom had soap and showergel/conditioner attached to the wall and the showerhead was small but powerful. For the elderly there was a chair in the shower so you could sit down. The towels were clean and there were two shower towels per person. (the smell in the room also gave away a lot of elderly stay there) The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful so for people wanting to cycle or hike its perfect. Outside the hotel is a seating area where you can drink something. The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of shade. While you drink your cold beverage you can enjoy the view of a small lake and fountain separating the hotel from a main road. We read online this was a 2 star hotel but it was worth 4 stars. In our opinion everything was fine but compared to other 2 and 3 star hotels we stayed at it is definitely not worth 4 stars. Definitely a hotel to consider for an event so you basically only have to sleep there. I was extremely satisfied by my stay at Thermae 2000. Located on a mountain in Valkenburg, the panoramic views and the natural beauty of the surroundings give a great sense of serenity. The hotel is very comfortable. Each room, fully equipped and well maintained, has a little terrasse with a peaceful view on the forest. Built as a pyramid, it is the only hotel I know that has a little funicular instead of a lift to go from one floor to another. The staff in general, and especially in the hotel and the various restaurants, are always smiling, polite and seem to care and be happy to work in this place. They will make you feel welcome and comfortable, and attend to your every request with a smile. The spa facilities are very extensive, super clean and well maintained, and you can choose from a variety of options to suit your mood and needs. There are pools inside and outside and a very large choice of saunas, steam baths and water treatments as well as lots of space outside to relax and cool down. Throughout the day, free group activities are proposed. The spa treatments are very professional and enjoyable. The therapists are skilled and pleasant. All the rooms are clean, well maintained and provide the perfect atmosphere to relax and feel pampered. I tried the gastronomic restaurant for dinner (« Pure”) and it was perfect. The Indian lady Executive Chef has a very inventive, superbly presented, sophisticated and tasty cuisine. It is a bit expensive but worth every penny. The dishes are creative, fresh and flavourful, and the service is impeccable and reasonably quick – although the restaurant was full on that night. (It is advisable to book in advance) Overall experience: Perfect for a special occasion. I believe, it is one of the best spa resorts in the Netherlands and among the best in Europe. I personally truly unwinded and enjoyed every minute of my stay.

This was our first stay ever at a vd Valk hotel and I start with the positive things. 1) Staff at the lobby and the breakfast very friendly and helpfull. 2) When we arrived we got an other room after a complaint without any problem. What disappointed us strongly were the following. 1) We got a room where the carpet all over had black smudges which looked really dirty. 2) The bed in the new room was on the side facing to step out like a slide at a holiday park. It was worn out by the” heavy weights” over time and never repalced. I fixed this problem temporarely myself by turning the very thick second mattrass over. 3) My wife and I were not able to watch our own old digitized pictures and short video's (TV has an USB port) because the television terminated everything in such that we even could not watch TV at all. Watching only TV was restored by a very helpfull staff member. 4) Between my bed and the wall were a lot of big and thick parts of clocked together dust. (see pictures) These rooms stay very dark even with all ”lights”turned on and by accident I noticed this because I used my flashlight in the night. 5) Vd Valk send us by e-mail a voucher for a welcome drink which did not specify any period of validity. When were thirsty the last day we decided to use it and went to the lobby and showed this voucher and the answer was that it was only valid on arrival. When I told the lady that this voucher did not mentioned anything about it she then told us to get a cup of coffee where we just had breakfast 1 hour before. This first acquaintance (in Dutch kennismaking?) with vd Valk hotels was ice cold and for us never more. So to say, our first and last.

Pro - Nice beds, but is was a twin bed, so you had a split between the two beds - nice rain shower - good selection of breakfast in nearby La Place including children’s playground - free parking Con -No soap tray - Water leaks a bit into the bathroom floor - Not all rooms had tea cups - choose for rooms at the air side other rooms are right next to highway

Fijn verblijf gehad bij Hotel Winselerhof. Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hebben hier voor de verjaardag van mijn vriend verbleven, daar had het personeel wat extra leuks voor op de kamer gezet. Daarnaast ook heerlijk gegeten. Beide restaurants zijn een aanrader.
