Hotel berhampiran Santuari del Vinyet Sitges, Sitges

Hotel Sitges is small but very stylish; everything is white, dove grey or charcoal with an occasional splash of scarlet. There are 3 vintage racing bikes, one a 1938 BMW R51 with sidecar, in the foyer, and two other models on every floor landing. Tea, coffee, croissants, cake and biscuits are served between 5-6pm. Really excellent breakfast buffet including tempting bottles of Cava and white wine - so you can be sophisticated and have a Bucks Fizz to start your day! The Hotel is situated in a quiet part of the resort, mainly an upmarket residential district, perfect, 5 mins walk to the beach and a further 15mins walk along the promenade or beach to the old town and El Balcón del Mar. The staff, Victor, Roman et al, are all super: we made a couple of requests with our direct booking and they were both met. Victor checked out bus and train times for us, Roman made restaurant reservations and organised our airport taxi. For those of you who don't want to be one of many in a large anonymous hotel then this is the choice for you!

Although the outside could do with an update and a lick of paint the pool area, reception, restaurant and bar were fine. The room is on the small side and rather basic but they do have other bigger rooms to choose from, at a price. Basic toiletries provided, no frills. Staff were outstanding and couldn't do enough. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the set meal in the evening was good value and had some interesting options. Wine reasonably priced too. The location is a fair walk, 20mins, (along a lovely promenade) from main town Sitges but the location is quiet and has lovely beaches and beach restaurants. Good bus service into town and only takes 5-10 mins.

The location by port entrance and overlooking the beach is very relaxing. Hotel has a relaxed and chilled out vibe. The superior rooms with individual artist drawings are all on the first floor at the front overlooking the beach. Breakfast is fine and taken inside or outside on the terrace. The guys are very busy and it took over an hour to clear the tables outside. We sat and took coffee so this is was the reality we observed. Pool area is fine, however only two sun brolleys and no pool bar service. Why did the hotel lose two stars 1, WiFi is non existent in the rooms. They changed the system whilst we stayed without telling us and we still could not connect except in the reception area. We had two rooms and nobody could connect apple or windows devices. 2, No tea or coffee in either room - this is a 4 star hotel so quite surprised.

This complex is badly managed and I am writing this as a warning to other potential guests. The positive is that the apartments have been renovated so appear great in the photos. Unfortunately that is where it ends. On arrival the floors were filthy and we had to ask for them to be cleaned. Only a table on the balcony so chairs from inside had to be used. It is advertised as air conditioned which technically is correct, however it is set at the lowest temp of 18 and has little power so the apartment was too hot for us. We complained and maintenance was sent (after 2 calls) but he couldn’t change it. The block had no hot water for 3 days but no update or explanation was given. The garden and pool area was not kept clean or tidy and I reported dirty towels and filled bins 3 times to Reception which had been left for 4 days. Gardeners came to cut the grass (not remove litter or empty bins) at 11am on 2 occasions within our week and asked us to move our beds, the leaf blower and mower were unbearably loud and guests had to endure this for 2 hours. I asked Reception why it wasn’t done earlier in the day but they said that it was a private company who can turn up at any time. Apartments only get cleaned every 7 days and no clean towels provided. . As other reviews have explained, keys need collecting from their sister hotel, a long walk or taxi ride away. As there is no Reception or any staff on site this complex feels unloved and forgotten . I rarely write reviews but felt compelled on this occasion. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. We feel so disappointed with our stay and it has ruined our holiday.
