St Angela's Lakeside Aparthotel Sala

Awful. Mouldy. Staff laughed at my partner when he asked if there was a cleaner apartment for the night as we had 2 young children with us, they said that was housekeepings problem and he was welcome to write a bad review. I then went and asked for our money back and we were able to get somewhere lovely and not hazardous to our health for less money. Its a disgrace the state they have it in when its in such a beautiful location

The staff are very unprofessional and unhelpful. We had a problem with our booking and date changes. I messaged the hotel back and forth for several hours and called them on the phone. The person who answered the phone was driving and very dismissive. They told us we could change our date eventually and they had an apartment on hold for us for an additional price but we had to still request through the original sit we booked with. The problem was they would not release the room for us to change the dates. So we were back and forth all day. I felt like I was talking to a different person each time. Eventually hours later the manager got back to us and said there actually was no availability. Leaving it way to late for us to seek alternative accommodation. Because of this I requested a free cancellation which was also declined. So we ended up losing £232 and having to cancel our weekend away. Communication and costumer service like this is unacceptable.

Expensive for what you get. Apartments were clean but furniture was a disgrace, worn, damaged and well past their use by date. Staff were rude as well, probably bit trained or managed correctly but it makes the place odd. Overall needs improvements for what they are charging.

Bit of a trek from car park to the rooms, even using the lift need to carry luggage or groceries up stairs. Room doors are very heavy and 7 year old couldn't open them himself. Otherwise accommodation was comfortable and clean, with spectacular views.

Nowhere in the property description says this is a dorm room. Spartan at best. No one at check in that knew what to do, manager had left for the weekend and couldn’t be reached. No one at the “light breakfast “ area at 8:30 even though breakfast was promised from 8-10 a.m.

We are an 82 year old couple. My daughter booked our one bedroom apartment over the phone with Jerimiah and was delighted with how the property was portrayed as we had always wanted to visit the lake area because of "lake isle of Innisfree". We travelled three hours from Laois to arrive at 3pm. The place was like a ghost town. There were no cars and absolutely no people. It felt outdated and more like an old nursing home!!! We EVENTUALLY found reception and was told we were not booked in. I rang our daughter who spoke to receptionist and Jerimiah had spelt her surname wrong when booking so then we were told the apartment was not ready. We went to Sligo town and came back at 4pm to be told it would be 6pm before the apartment was ready. We therefore felt enough was enough. We left, never to go back there again. We travelled home, stopped in Mullingar, stayed in a lovely hotel and enjoyed the rest of the night. My daughter was devastated that an 82 year old couple were treated like that. By the time we were leaving there was two other families who were also told it could be 6pm or even 7pm before their rooms were ready. SCANDALOUS!!!

Beware all college students that no matter how clean you leave your apartment the landlord will deduct at least €25 from your security deposit(that's €25 each student and there are 4 students in each apartment). The landlord will tell you that the cleanest apartment will win an X amount of money. The reason for this is that all students will clean their apartments but the main reason is that you "students" will have cleaned them so that the landlord can rent out the apartments for the summer months while college is closed which in my opinion is cheap labour and don't forget he will still deduct a fee after your hard work. Don't be fooled. Also he will enter your apartment unannounced without even ringing the doorbell.

Lovely location on Lough Gill and only a short drive into Sligo Town. Was disappointed with the service of some of the staff who were quite abrupt and not very helpful. Edward the maintenance worker was very friendly and did a good job in fixing a broken window frame.

Beautiful spot and good rooms We booked family appartment. The location is beautiful beside a lake and 10min from Sligo (though view marred by some portakabins).Appartments very good condition. One issue - the room doors have very strong springs so they slam shut VERY nosily all the time -ony negative. All the staff are E. European. Mattress a bit soft.
