Right next to the major walking street in town and minutes away from outstanding restaurants. Large rooms with views and automatic blinds to darken the room. The elevators are a bit confusing as only one goes from the reception to all floors while two others only go to first floor (and strangely say for only one person; come on!). Don't be put off by the reception which is so unimpressive that you think you are going into a dive-hotel. We didn't choose to pay Euro 12 per person due to all the bad reviews on breakfast but there are many places to eat near by; just be aware that places don't serve breakfast before 8:00 and many not before 9:00!!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. First, it’s totally new so everything is perfect and clean. Then, the rooms are really big, for the second night we got studio, and it’s like an apartment with bedroom and living room and a big couch. So you feel really relaxed and it’s nice spending time there. Also, the hotel probably has a great cook because the breakfast was outstanding - not a big choice but everything is extremely tasty. Also try fish soup for dinner, we loved it so much that we ended up coming back for it the second day. There are just two downsides (for me, you might not care) - the hotel has a cute patio where you can sit and have coffee, but the problem is, the patio is projected the way that makes voices really loud, and all windows overlook the patio - it makes it impossible to sleep when someone is talking there, and someone is talking there almost all the time. This made me wake up at 7 and go out at 12 at night asking people to be quieter. But if you are fine closing the windows that solves the problem (we just don’t like conditioners and sleep with open windows). And also the mattresses are very hard, but that’s a matter of taste. Other than that, amazing place. Not exactly in the center but it’s about 15-20 minutes walking, and in June the street was full of linden trees with amazing smell.

the room was satisfactory at a whole, esp with the little balcony attached for a small laundry zone, electric water kettle for making hot tea, a small refrigerator for use, a big plastic bucket in bathroom and hair dryer provided. The lightings are bright enough. TV also offered a few channels.
if a microwave or a small oven could be provided by the hotel for customers reheating their takeaway food or bread, alongside with a mini size folderable tea table, they would definitely earn an extra score by all customers.

It was an amazing accommodation for me. I came Sofia by train and the hotel is very close to the Sofia Railway Station & Bus Terminal and it took a 3-5 min to arrive with a big luggage. 9 a.m. was an early time for an check-in but the staff helped me about an early check-in and im so thankfull for it. The room was so clean and well organized. I shared the same room with my parents and there was an extra bed for me (it was comfortable) and still there was an enough space to move. The AC was a little bit old but it was working nicely, Internet connection was good and I was able to use it without interruption. The bathroom was clean. There was a lot of options in the breakfast room. I ate a lot actually and everything was so tasty! Kitchen’ door was open when i was in the breakfast area and it looked so clean to me so i never felt anxious while eating. The chef (i think her name was Sofia sorry if im wrong) was so smiley and the coffee machine wasn’t working for a reason when i was there and i asked for help, she quickly fixed the machine without me having to ask a second time. I asked to many question about the hotel, public transportation, markets etc. to the lobby staff and they answered nicely without getting tired. Hotel’ location is not the best for a trip to the Sofia Center. But at least it’s close to the Lions’ Bridge and local markets. It was a wonderfull experiance for me and I enjoyed. Probably I will prefer this hotel again when I come to Sofia.

I stayed in the hotel for about 10 days. The single room was small but pleasant, with the caveat that the bed was SUPER SMALL. It was barely big enough for a single person, even smaller than the twin size - something important to keep in mind when booking. Another unexpected surprise - the hotel does not provide basic toiletries (soap and shampoo), so come prepared. I want to add here that there WAS a hand soap dispenser but I don't think that you can use hand soap for anything else but hands. You get one big towel and one small towel, changed fresh every day, plan your bath time accordingly. While the staff is friendly and helpful, many of them don't speak English or have very limited vocabulary. The hotel does provide breakfast but from the feedback from other guests I did not think to try it out so I can't say anything about its quality. The area around the hotel is calm and quiet with good public transport. The metro station is a few minute walk along the boulevard, there are a couple of trolley bus lines not too far either and the biggest arena is within walking distance. There are a few restaurants with good food and good prices but they are well hidden, make sure to do your research beforehand (or ask the hotel staff). The biggest disadvantage for me (big enough to discourage me visiting the country again) - smoking is tolerated pretty much everywhere, there were groups of people smoking at the entrance at all times. The hotel could do better protecting its customers suffering from severe asthma and other respiratory conditions.
ibis Sofia Airport is ideally located just 500m from Sofia International Airport. Once here, travelling around Sofia is a breeze; there's a network of public transport on your doorstep, including buses, metros and shuttle services. Visiting for business? The Megapark Business Park, European Trade Center and Interexpo Center are just 2-5 minutes drive from the hotel. Travelling for leisure? The ibis Sofia Airport is less than 10 minutes from Bulgaria's largest shopping center, the Mall.

We stayed here because our flight arrived late night and shuttle bus came to the sofia airport after calling the hotel. We prefer to get the shuttle bus without calling (ex. it's better if we can call the bus by app or text etc). However, the driver and all staff were really nice and friendly.
Our train was very early morning so we asked the hotel to prepare our breakfast and it was really good! Thank you.
Our room didn't have bathroom rug.

I missed my flight at sofia airport so had to book a hotel for one night. So I went for a mid range hotel. It was better than mid range. Lovely helpful staff on reception, an aceptable price with thier discount....paid 68 euros for a large kingsize bed with onsuite bathroom. Comfortable bed, fresh pillows (very snazzy cushions too) and a nice relaxing corner sofa, reasonable TV and every thing was realyl clean. Complimentary coffee and tea, which is not the norm in Bulgaria, nice and quiet, was lovely and warm. Actualyl a bit too warm and I couldnt turn the heating down so I had to sleep wit hte fridge open to cool off as aircon didnt work. THis was the only negative for me. They did an airport pickup, but not a drop off and this nearly stopped me booking, as they should have told me this at the begining, however they were saved by the fact the metro was 4 stops to the airport and cost me 1.60 leva, so about 70p. I picked up food from the little shops in the metro, as I hit a holiday so the restaurants close by were closed. A very lovely stay and Id go there again. AND they had these lovely drop lights near the bed as side lights, some veyr nice touches, clean crisp sheets, soft towels and nice soaps etc and they dont ask you to leave till 12 lunch time. My photo doesnt do the room justice

PPengguna TetamuCasa Ferrari was a lovely place to stay in Sofia for a couple of nights. The host, Ludmil, is simply one of the very best - he has a great knowledge of the history of Sofia (and Buglaria and the Balkan region in general) and is a great resource for sights to see, how to plan your day, getting a taxi, nice little restaurants in the area, etc. And a great conversationalist in general! He also helped me out with a last minute change of plans. The B&B has a very comfortable common area with cute furniture, there is a kitchen that one can use for basic prep, but Ludmil serves a very nice breakfast that also mixes in a selection of Bulgarian pastries and yogurt. The room itself was spotlessly clean with all the necessities, and very comfortable. The place is in a quiet area of town so there is absolutely no street noise or other disturbance at night, but it is just a few minutes walk from all the tourist areas and attractions. Highly recommend!
PPengguna TetamuPros: The hotel design is very modern and clean. The staff are nice and friendly and do everything they can to help you. This hotel is big on sustainability. They don't leave plastic bottles in your room. Instead, you have glass bottles that you can fill up everywhere in the hotel. Every floor has a drinking fountain where you can fill up your bottle.
The food was absolutely amazing. Breakfast is not a buffet. On weekdays, you have to choose between a Bulgarian or a French breakfast. At first, I was disappointed that they didn't have a simple option like an omelet; I went with the Bulgarian option. It was fantastic. Everything was fresh. On weekends, you only have an omelet option, which was also great. For dinner, I got Sea Bass and it was also great! I am fully satisfied with the food served at this hotel. The only criticism I can give is that the breakfast serving window is very small and late (8:30 am to 10:30 am if I remember correctly) and you have to wait for more than usual to get your food.
Cons: The rooms have tile floors, which look cold but are not since I believe they use floor heating. The problem is that they don't offer slippers, which I don't like, since the same tiles continue into the toilet. It doesn't feel clean.
They also don't offer toothbrushes which I would have really appreciated.
I had to unplug the fridge since the compressor made a lot of noise when turning off and on, and I'm a light sleeper.
Overall I would recommend this place if the location suits you, just bring your own slippers and enjoy the food!
PPengguna TetamuThis hotel is in an excellent location: about 10 minute walk from the bus/train station; 5 minutes walk to the metro; 20 minutes walk to the city centre. So from that perspective, it fit my needs perfectly. The staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful, so that was a major plus. The rooms, well, a bit of a mixed bag. While the rooms were VERY spacious, and had a great little balcony, from which I enjoyed a few drinks in the evening, the room really needed to be renovated. The word I described it is “shopworn”. Look at my photos of the room and you can see the broken couch and stained carpet. I would also say that the cleaning staff is a little lacklustre. While not “dirty” per sae, it certainly could be cleaned better. Some minor renovations and better cleaning would have me rating this hotel as a “five”.
Cons: no breakfast despite free breakfast being advertised on Tripadviser and mentioned on the laminated sheet in the hotel room. No restaurant open at all, despite being advertised and mentioned in hotel room. I didn’t notice until afterwards a note on ********** stating restaurant closed for a time period, but my stay was a month after this time period anyway. The staff just said “we don’t have a restaurant”. No airport shuutte despite being advertised. Bed was bigger than expected (was expecting a single bed) but very hard & uncomfortable, with a lumpy pillow. A bit rough around the edges (broken chair, broken shower door, cracked basin). Pros: Great central location. Fairly clean, fairly quiet. Air-conditioning and TV in room. Wifi was ok. Overall I would have been happy with this hotel for the low cost, if I’d known what to expect, but I booked here partially based on free breakfast and airport shuttle. They need to update their Tripadviser profile and their in-room laminated leaflet as it is currently misleading. Not a 3 star hotel in my opinion.
PPengguna TetamuI'll start with the positive points first: - I'll start with the positive points first - The minibar and the drinks at the bar are cheap Now the negative points they are effecting mostly the rooms: - The carpet is dirty and the rooms stink. Most probably they never changed the carpet since the hotel was build - The air conditioning was installed later. The hose to dispose the water from the air conditioner goes through a hose into the bathroom and ends above the bathroom floor. this means that the bathroom is always flooded when the air conditioning is on. this is definitely not acceptable. - The room cannot be darkened because the fabric of the curtains is very very thin and translucent. As soon as the sun rises it is not possible to sleep. In my case it was around 05:30AM when the sun came up. This point bothered me the most because I didn't get enough sleep on my business trip. I have visited the hotel Hemus regularly since 2017 when I have not been able to get a room elsewhere. in 2019 they had done major renovations, but I still don't understand what exactly was improved. the points just mentioned above have not been resolved. only the tv was exchanged for a flat screen and the bracket for the old tube tv was removed. Maybe this was the reason of renovation. I hope that someone from the hotel will read this as a general overhaul is urgently needed. Especially with the carpet and the curtains. There's no point in choosing a hotel to relax after a long meeting day and can't even sleep because of the windows that can't be darkened or the smell of the carpet that has never been replaced.
PPengguna TetamuWe stayed here for a couple nights whilst exploring Sofia. This a perfect and cute little hotel, purely somewhere to sleep for the night. If you want fancy, stay in the centre. But what do you need on a city break? You’re exploring the whole time! It’s simple and effective and budget friendly, it was half the price of the flights and less than our airport parking! (Paid £50 for two nights). Sofia is very cheap to eat and drink so you just can’t go wrong. The staff were friendly on arrival and check out, and they let us keep our bags after check out when we had a late flight. Not too far from the centre, we walked the first day but after realising it’s £2 for all day on the metro, we stuck to the metro. 30 minutes walking, or maybe 6 minutes by metro. The airport is about half an hour away on the metro and no issues getting there or back. Smooth transport system! There’s a supermarket 3 minutes away which is handy for water and snacks. If walking at night, I will say stick to the main road side, as the other side of the hotel feels a little unsafe and dark. The rooms are small but practical, bathroom is a little smaller than I expected but it still worked. My only issue is I would say the room could of been cleaner when we checked in. I had to clean the toilet and sink with sanitiser as it was a little dirty. Take flip flops for showering as you are very close to the toilet when you shower and very close to the shower when you use the toilet. Shower gel provided smelt lovely and the hand sanitiser at reception! We had a brilliant time and would highly recommend the hotel and stay again should we ever take another trip to Sofia.
PPengguna TetamuSveta Sofia is a traditional hotel in a quiet pedestrianised street in the city centre. All staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful. The receptionists speak excellent English. Rooms are big and include a settee and coffee table as well as fridge and coffee making facilities. There is constant hot water and great water pressure. The hotel is very clean, including the breakfast room. Rooms are cleaned every day, towels and sheets are spotless. Its true there is no bar or outside space but it is so near lovely roadside cafes you really dont miss out. The breakfast is varied and plenty of it - self service but you can get an espresso made by the restaurant manager. Because the hotel is in a pedestrionised street, there is zero traffic noise. In fact there is very little noise as the bars are not in this street. It also feels safe here which I think is important. I highly recommend Sveta Sofia if you are thinking about visiting this lovely city.
