Bergland Design- Und Wellnesshotel

First class welcome from the reception team. The reception area is very spacious and welcoming. The furniture in reception however is not placed correctly. The bar if fully stocked with everything you would want. The bar furniture, like reception is not placed correctly, , it can also be said for the furniture in the lounge next to the bar. Not placed correctly, you should not have to climb through seated groups to get to an empty table. The rooms are finished to a fantastic standard. A mixture of traditional and modern. I did report two room faults on the evening of my arrival and they were not fixed prior to me leaving one week later. First class welcome from the dining room staff. A really well appointed dining room. There were a few issues with the food. The selection at the buffet was fantastic however the quality of some of the dishes on the buffet were poor. There seemed to be different menus for different guests and that was based on seeing food being delivered to tables that was never offered at my table. Now, the quality of food has been highlighted by previous guests and conveniently brushed over , they do not always get the food correct. They are trying to serve portions that you would expect to find in fine dinning restaurants but the quality of food is far from fine dining. I would ask the chef to taste the food before it leaves the dining room and that goes for the buffet, taste the food before it goes on the buffet. The quality of prepared food is either fantastic or inedible. During my stay, the plates from my table were either returned cleared of everything or returned full. The spa, fantastic, clean warm and comfortable, actually, outstanding. The facilities are outstanding. Look, this is a great spot in a great location with great people working in this hotel so if you stay then you will have a great time, sort the quality of the prepared food out then this will become a fantastic spot. Just as an aside, as i said, some people were eating food our table wasn’t offered so maybe there is a tiered menu offering and if there is then this has to be made clear to all the guests.

I stayed at Bergland because of my participation in the annual cycle race, Ötztaler Radmarathon. I feel just like at home, I don’t even look for other places to stay when I’m in Sölden.

There is no better hotel than the Bergland! It is such a wonderful experience to stay here and the whole family were so sad when we had to leave! Everything is thought through with so much care and attention. We stayed with children aged 6 & 8 and the Easter hunt was incredible. The special touches delivered to all guests were flawless. We used the beautiful spa each day after skiing and had a wonderful signature massage. The dining room is always a lovely experience and the staff are just fantastic! This was not our first visit, and we really hope to return again very soon!

Yet again a truly wonderful holiday at the Bergland hotel! What makes it special is the outstanding design plus the staff many of whom have worked there for decades. In service we again had the pleasure of first class waiters Fenec, Robin (soon to be sommelier), Helena and her sister plus many more. Breakfast buffet is wonderful and the a la carte dining too notch! Reception staff has been starkly upgraded - the team is responsive and very guest-focussed (thanks Bas and others!) Bar staff is also excellent and they can prepare any cocktail of your liking. Not least thanks so much to Sara for hosting our ski safari this time and spending so much time with us (best of luck for your endeavours). Also wonderful to see co-owner Siggi again who takes his time to speak with all guests. Only considerable downside this time was the SPA service. While facilities are great service is sub-standard. We booked a massage and were allocated a slot, no asking about preferences, prior medical history, welcome for intro. No info on prices were provided (€89). We were allocated a male therapist without checking if we’re comfortable with that and when noting that we were not the staff didn’t bother and still didn’t change. The massage then was awkward and hastily conducted as also the therapist realised us being uncomfortable. When we asked to speak to the SPA manager they didn’t revert. Our table neighbours noted a similar occurrence where their teenager daughter also was treated by the male therapist without checking if they felt comfortable. Further the dress code in the sauna area was not enforced which again made the visit uncomfortable. As we very much love the hotel we hope this issue will be addressed.

Bergland Design and Wellness Hotel Sölden We have just enjoyed a 7 night stay at this incredible hotel. What a gem it is! I cannot fault the hotel and their attention to detail is exceptional. We travelled as a family of 4 (2 teenagers) and we had 2 of the deluxe comfort rooms, side by side. The rooms were roomy and so very comfortable, including rocking chairs and terraces. The bathroom included a shower and seperate bathtub. The room also included bathrobes and slippers to use in the spa (more on that later). We made excellent use of the sport shop in the basement and hired our ski equipment for our week long stay. Each morning we would pop down and pick up the gear and then head to the slopes which were only minutes away. Our room package included the Half-Board option where breakfast and dinner are included. We had the same table every time, which was set especially for us each day. There was never any rush for us to vacate the table and as a result we enjoyed leisurely meals, enjoying the delicious Tyrolean produce each day. The service in the restaurant was impeccable and it is clear that the staff are very special and are cared for by the management. Each of them truly seems to enjoy being part of the Bergland family. A special mention must go to Nikolette, our waitress for most meals. She was wonderful. The sky spa in the hotel is amazing, and after skiing most mornings we enjoyed the sauna and spa time in the afternoons. It includes a Finnish sauna, a steam room and a bio-Sauna. My husband and I also enjoyed a special spa package of a body scrub, mask and massage. It was divine!!! We were especially blessed to spend new years at the hotel and had a wonderful New Year’s Eve gala dinner with live music and a real party atmosphere. A lovely evening hosted by Siggi the hotel owner also made us feel like a part of the Bergland family. I honestly could not fault the hotel for anything and am looking forward to one day visiting again. The town of Sölden is just lovely and the snow and skiing conditions are exceptional. I am so glad we found this place, I cannot recommend it more highly.

Wow, arrived and greeted with Prosecco. 1 room was available early, the 2 others were at the designated time of 4pm. The rooms are very large, with lovely balconies and so much storage. The food was Michelin like, with 5 courses per night. Breakfast was all you could ask for. The 2 spa’s were wonderful, outdoor & indoor pools and jacuzzi, saunas, rest areas, plus an Austrian adult sauna with hamman/steam, bio sauna and Finish. The whole hotel has been recently refurbished. Location wise, right in middle of town and within 2 mins of bus stops for both gondolas. There is also a shuttle lift that takes you to slopes so ask about this. Supermarket across road. Sigi the owner came to say hello which was a nice touch one evening during dinner. The ski area is excellent but so go to Hochgurgl. Good bars, Marcos, Live.
