We are Ruby members who recently stayed at El Dorado Royale in a sapphire beachfront room. We were in building 55 which is the southernmost building on the property. Our room was fairly basic, but always clean and we loved our balcony overlooking the ocean. We also loved the proximity to the Kick restaurant/bar and also the members only beach area. It was a short walk to the main pool and the more quiet and laid back pool behind the main pool. We also didn't feel like it was an excessive walk to the main buidling but if you wanted to go to the casitas area or Generations for restaurants, there were always plenty of golf carts going around to pick you up. This was a last minute trip so we only stayed four nights and we ate dinners at Santa Fe, Jade, Wine Kitchen and D'italia Casitas. We ate lunch at La Isla, Kampai, and Kick twice. Our feeling is that the food was good, with a few dishes we'd call great. Our favorite meal was Jade with the Mongolia dish and tuna sashimi. Very very good. The burgers at Kick were really good. We didn't eat a single bad thing at all, we do recommend ordering several things off the menu. Most portions are pretty small which is how we like it so we can try several things. Highly recommend ordering coffee or cappucino after your meal with dessert. Such good coffee! We love the martini bar in the lobby before dinner at night and the bellini bar after dinner is always nice. If the main pool bar is busy there are plenty of places to go to get a drink without having to get into the water or push past the people who sit there all day long. As members we had a butler(s). Jhonny and Isabel shared this responsibility for us and they were just delightful! So courteous and nice to talk to and also so responsive for the requests we had. First day there, via whatsapp, I asked Jhonny if we could swap out our in room wine for a different kind. I had also asked if the beer in the fridge could be stocked with just one of the four kinds offered. He had it done within the hour while we were out eating and then showed up later with real wine glasses because he noticed we didn't have any stemmed wine glasses set up in the room. Such a nice touch! Every morning he would stop in and bring us fresh ice. He also filled in on the two occasions that our coffee bar did not get reset and we were out of coffee. Isabel was also helpful when we decided, rather last minute, to get massages for the next day and had has set up, again via whatsapp, within like 20. minutes. They both also arranged for transport on a couple of occassions for us and scheduled our luggage pickup. They were wonderful!! Also, I have to say this is the first time we had a mini fridge that was actually really cold! It was wonderful! Finally on the pro side, I've ready many reviews where people complain about the app but we used it with zero troubles. Was able to make reservations all four nights on it with no issue.
