Royal Suite? Laughable! I was sadly homeless in my early 20s 40 years ago and I was put up in a better b&b than this. Check in was borderline rude and entering the ”Royal Suite” I started to calculate if I could just drive home the 2.5 hours after the event I was attending locally. Dirty room, paint peeling away from the walls, the flatest pillows and mattress I have seen since my teenage years. A window come skylight with no curtains that let light in from the street and kept me awake. Garden view advertised but only if you are on your hands and knees looking under the chairs. Remote control with no cover on the battery compartment, no hairdryer.. this had to be asked for, no advertised water in the roomm I dreaded breakfast and anticipated having a coffee then eating elsewhere but despite the dreadful waitress, the food was actually very good. Dirty cutlery spoilt the experience and when I asked if I could have bottled water to take to my room as it was missing, the waitress told me she was busy and was in the process of refilling the bottles. Walking passed dirty tables empty handed to the kitchen is always a downfall in a waitress time management. Overall, it was a poor experience. On check out, I asked for the GMs email. However, I was advised to use the info@ email. Surely at this point, alarm bells would have been ringing enough for the lady to at least ask how my stay was and if she could help?! No, nothing. I was hoping to give feedback to the GM privately but the staff were not helpful. Please change the Royal Suite name to a large double. You are setting the expectations too high. Well done breakfast chef, the rest was sub standard.
