Hotel berhampiran Julius Pizzeria, South Brisbane

To be honest, I'm not sure how Opera Apartments South Bank has such a high rating. Here's a breakdown of the good and bad. Good: o Fully equipped kitchen o Balcony with outdoor table and chairs o WiFi is good at ＞50/50 Mbps. o The rooftop pool and BBQ areas are nice. The pool is a great place from which to watch the sunset. o Fantastic location. Very convenient for attending conferences at the exhibition centre. Bad: o Cockroaches in our bathroom and kitchen! Once it was dark, cockroaches came out in our bathroom and kitchen. On the first night, we killed four in the bathroom and two in the kitchen. o The front door has no signage to indicate where to enter Opera apartments. The door to enter the building does not automatically open and often the reception is unattended. So you have to use the keypad at the door to even gain entry to the building. We saw lots of new arrivals who were left very confused by the system. o We arrived at 12:30 pm and checked in, but as check-in time is not until 2 pm we dropped our luggage and then went off to grab lunch and coffee. We returned at 2 pm but were advised that our room still wasn't ready. We were told the room would be ready at 2:40 pm. Since we had already had lunch, we had nothing to do but sit around in the reception area until our room was ready. At 2:47 pm we were advised that the room would be ready in 10 mins. The room was then ready at 2:57 pm. When we entered the room it had a chemical smell and the kitchen floor was still wet after cleaning. o The walls were covered in dust. Additionally, all the air conditioning vents were caked with dust. There was an insane amount of dust behind the bed. As someone with allergies, we had to be very careful not to disturb the dust otherwise I would have been sneezing the whole time. o No tissues were provided. o No towels were provided for the pool. o The hallway had an unpleasant smell. Then the room also smelt but it was a completely different unpleasant smell. o The tv was fairly small. Only about 40”. o We were on level 3 and we couldn't have our balcony door open as there was a loud noise from air conditioning units under us and the building next door. With the door closed though the noise of the air-conditioning units outside wasn't an issue (but then you're trapped with the smell!) Overall, I do not recommend Opera Apartments South Bank. Complete waste of money. Still traumatised from all the cockroaches coming out during the night and the smell in the apartment.

The customer service at Atlas is exceptional. All the staff are friendly, professional and consistently courteous. I am a person with disabilities, and use an assistive device for mobility. The manager Simon was wonderful in answering my questions regarding accessibility. He understood my requirements, and was clear in communicating what could be done and what was outside of their scope as these are apartments not purpose build for disability access. I appreciate the candor and once we established what it was that I needed he was able to make suggestions and give me a good idea of what rooms might suit. They also made it easy for my support worker to come and go and made sure that their access was in accordance with what I wanted. I am very happy to recommend Atlas and confident that they have their guests satisfaction at the forefront of their service model. Well done! I will be back, and I will (have done so already actually) recommend Atlas Apartments to others. Thank you :)

Travelling to BNE every 15 days and I used to stay in the CDB, even when attending some conferences in BCEC. Due to a last minute booking, I ended-up at the Novotel few months ago, and this place is officially my new HOME when in town. Clean and tidy very modern quiet rooms, 100m walk from exhibitions halls (thanks to a shortcut at the back), with a 24/7 accessible parking (you can get in and out easily), this place is super convenient. You are just next door to all what Southbank has to offer and a short walk distance (or scooter ride) to the CDB (pedestrian bridge over the river) Staff are young and efficient, smiling all day. ACCOR Motto btw. Last but no least, you stay far from the noisy students/backpackers nightlife + trains / highway of downtown. After all, even if you are in Bris-Vegas, you came here for a rest!

I stayed a week and didn't get much sleep. My apartment was next to the entrance to the building and the main entrance door slammed very loudly every time someone come in or went out. This started up as early as 5am and didn't stop until midnight. There was a building site behind the apartments. Fair to say that the owners can't do anything about the digger starting up at 6am 7 days a week. This also made the pool sandy which then had cleaning equipment in it 24/7. I removed the floating cleaning hoses twice to be able to swim and was then told off doing so. The pool was my main reason for booking. I did ring reception more than a week before my arrival to find out about the noise I read about it in a previous review. I was told that my room was going to be fine. It wasn't. When I mentioned this phone call to the manager, he questioned me of ever having made this call (it was showing in my call log). The room itself had a comfortable bed, good aircon, good TV, good blinds, BUT there was no shelfing anywhere in the bathroom to even put a toothbrush, the two chairs were very wobbly (one had a completely loose leg), the microwave was not working (got replaced within 2 days), all mugs were very old and stained and just didn't look clean, etc. etc. When I asked for a fresh tea towel on day four I was told by management that they don't supply fresh towels. I was disappointed by the constant noise but more by management.

The apartment was clean and tidy with all new appliances. The location was convenient with many restaurants nearby as well as many attractions at walking distance. We will be recommending to friends and family and will stay here again when visiting Brisbane

We had a really nice stay in this service apartment. Very clean, nice staff assistant, very new and well furnished.

Its a hit & miss type of accommodation , I have stayed at the property a few times and was fine, but last stay the main TV did not work and told reception and still noting was done, and the room was due for a carpet replacement or a big steam clean with stains all over the carpet, hot water took about 4 min to to get warm.

Fantastic location. Unit a bit old and tired, but clean. There were no glasses in the unit. Not one!! Lots of good restaurants nearby. Comfortable beds.
