After several day trips to southwold we decided to stay at the swan to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. On arrival the reception staff were friendly and professional. We were shown to our room by butler Will who was charming and informative. The room itself was small but nicely presented. It was very warm despite the windows being opened but we found a fan in the ample cupboard. On closer inspection there was quite a few missed attentions to detail. Thick cobwebs on the windowsills, a hole in the upholstery of the chair and black mould in the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious although on the second morning there were some missing items on my order but, they did seem a bit short staffed so I let it go as what was there was well cooked. There was a complimentary bottle of adnams gin in our room which was a nice touch but nowhere to really put the kettle apart from the dressing table. We did have a nice time and all the staff were lovely but for nearly £600 for a two night stay disappointing.

The Swan and its staff were absolutely perfect for my Mother and I for a 2 day break to celebrate her 80th birthday. Stylish and comfortable with exceptionally friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast and dinner in the beautiful relaxed restaurant were first rate. I cannot recommend the Swan highly enough

The hotel staff were very friendly and the Hotel had a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The room was very good and the food was outstanding. The beer as you would expect was kept in excellent condition. All in all we had a relaxed and enjoyable stay.

The Swan Hôtel is exceptional in every way. The accommodation, staff and food are wonderful. For a really relaxing holiday with wonderful service. I can’t rate it high enough.

Lovely hotel in the center of a small quant sea side town . We had a few issues with our room which were quickly resolved . Service in the dining room was a bit slow on our first evening . Nice bar and great service . Local ales are wonderful

We stayed for 2 nights in a “Fabulous Double”. The room was on the expensive side at £400 a night, but it was very nice. The bedroom and the bathroom were both a good size, spotlessly clean and of a high standard. The bed was very comfy. The food in the restaurant was good although you wouldn’t want to eat here every night as the choices were limited (strangely not as much fish on the menu as I would have expected). The staff at reception, bar and restaurant are all friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. I can recommend the Adnams tours too - we did the lighthouse and the brewery, which were both good fun and informative. A couple of small grumbles: firstly our room was very hot so we had the windows open but we must’ve been near the kitchen as we got food cooking smells coming into the room; also the soundproofing wasn’t very good (although this is probably to be expected in an older building). Overall though a lovely hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Highly recommended though expensive hotel. Staff cannot do enough for you - nothing is too much trouble. Really took care of us. Comfortable Superking bed with pristine linen and gorgeous toiletries.

The Swan is in the centre of Southwold. Parking is straightforward and plentiful. We were welcomesd on arrival, and the staff were all helpful and keen to look after us. We ate in the evening, and the food and service were excellent. The hotel is not cheap, but it was well wort the money for a pleasant and comfortable break.

Fantastic stay in the garden rooms. Rooms were beautiful set around a courtyard with outside table & chairs, lovely to sit out with a glass of wine & relax in the sunshine. Rooms so well thought out even had 3 types of glasses wine, champagne & tumbler. Very comfortable beds & luxurious duvet & pilllows. Staff all very friendly & seemed genuinely interested in you. Would have like to stay longer but we will definitely return but with our dog next time!
