Distant Hills Guest House

We’d heard so many good things about Distant Hills… and they did not disappoint! Superb local knowledge, warm hospitality (the fluffiest pancakes) and excellent facilities like the honesty bar and hot tub. It has an excellent location to explore so many walks and the Aurora topped off a really special stay. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a fantastically comfortable and very friendly one-night stay whilst passing through on the Great Glen Way. I had a spotlessly clean room which, whilst it was small, mattered little as there was a vast lounge available for guests use (indeed I spent a lovely hour chatting with a fellow guest late into the evening). And the lounge includes a well-stocked bar (with honesty box). Breakfast was good with a satisfying cooked breakfast to set you on your way. And for a small nominal fee, they supplied a good pack lunch too. Spean Bridge is located some 5km from the Great Glen Way, there is nowhere to stay at Gairlochy (the natural breakpoint when walking this trail). So the owners offer a pickup and drop-off service if you're feet can't make it! And on top of that, they also have a hot tub available for guests - if a days walk has exhausted them! The only (small) point of note is that this is located a 10-minute walk from the centre of Spean Bridge so eating out does require a bit more walking. Overall, though this is 5-star guest house / b&b accommodation and a credit to the owners - well done!

This is the best place I’ve ever stayed, not just in Scotland, but anywhere. So much thought and consideration was put into the set up, and it’s obvious from the moment you set foot inside. The hosts are gracious and friendly. The home and rooms are IMMACULATE. The breakfast is the best of my experiences in Scotland. I could go on and on and still not say enough about this beautiful place.

Booked this last minute ready for a hill walk the following day. We needed a slightly later check-in as we were traveling that evening, but this wasn't a problem at all. Communication was excellent with clear directions and instructions for late check-in and breakfast arrangements. The house and our room were spotlessly clean, warm, and tidy and the house had great facilities. We had a warm reception from Cam and Dani and were made to feel very welcome. Excellent hosts, very easy and attentive. Breakfast was 5 stars, super tasty local produce. One of the best we've had in ages. Would highly recommend.

Distant hills guest house is the best place we have ever stayed the hosts are exceptional the place is exceptional nothing is too much from the hosts. location is spot on for Fort William, Nevis and loads of other excellent places We will be booking again some time this year

I have just watched 4 in a bed what an amazing couple with a beautiful location and 7******* service and accomodation absolutely was amazed by there guest house and what a genuine lovely couple I look forward to visiting your beautiful guest house well done both

Had a great four night stay at Distant Hills. Dani and Cameron were superb hosts - welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Distant Hills is spotlessly clean, our room was really comfortable and there is a good selection for breakfast. The B&B is in an excellent location, we did lots of walking and visited local attractions such as Glenfinnan. We would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you Dani and Cam!

Can't recommend this place highly enough. Really cool, modern style and the hosts Dani and Cameron could not be more helpful and friendly! I even got a lift in the morning to the start of my hike. The breakfast and packed lunch was amazing. Definitely worth checking out, 5 stars from me
