Hotel berhampiran Fountains on the Lake, Stafford

We had a quick weekend trip and this location and rates were just right. Late night staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was clean, breakfast was the standard fare where you can make your own waffles, with offerings of potatoes, eggs and a protein; along with toast, yogurt, muffins, juice tea and coffee. There's a clean outdoor pool and small work out space. It's not too far from stores or places to eat. I would book there again

This Holiday Inn Express was the nicest one I've been to. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the service of the staff was the best. The Front desk agents that helped us were always smiling and the housekeeper supervisor was the absolute best! She asked us every day if our room was ok and if we needed anything. Breakfast was delicious and the attendant, Tameka had us taken care since my wife is lactose intolerant. She had almond milk ready for us. Amazing Service! They should be #1 if they keep staff like these people who actually care about the guest. With the way the world is going, you are lucky to find these types of people.

I had a bag of shoes that went missing after housekeeping came. When getting ready to go to our event is when I realized my shoes were either mistaken for trash or stolen. Assuming this petite man has no need for women's shoes, I met with the receptionist who checked lost & found and took us to the side room where the recent trash was being held. Me and my husband sifted through the trash ourselves when she told us if it's not here it could be in the outside dumpster. My husband requested someone to check for us as we were already very late. The next morning I met with a manager. He checked security footage and said he didn't find any visible evidence, but mind you the camera angle is not direct and you can't detail the contents of the cart to see what's actually in there or not. I explained there was a sentimental connection to these shoes as they were my own WEDDING shoes. I cared more about finding the shoes itself than any monetary compensation for them, so much so that I was willing to personally search through a hotel's trash two days in a row. They told me the housekeeping staff are trained to distinguish valuables vs trash...my question is why is this even an issue to train on? I remember the receptionist earlier sympathized with me and insinuated this is not the first time something like this happened either. What still confuses me is why they are mistaking items for trash when the trash bin itself was empty. If the motive was not to steal, it's definitely negligent. I wouldn't have even let housekeeping service our room if it wasn't for finding horrible stains on our bed sheets right upon arrival. Two strikes at this hotel already in terms of the room and staff. The shoes were not found, no ownership was taken, and I was given no compensation for my loss and troubles either. I had a horrible weekend because of this incident and I left very unhappy losing such a sentimental item. Especially after being loyal Marriott members for years, I was shocked this even happened and that we couldn't get this resolved. Please do not keep valuables unattended and monitor when housekeeping is in your room or just skip the service all together. If something is missing or stolen, you will be at a total loss. I'm never stay at this location again and have to reconsider all Marriott properties from now on.

Need more breakfast services, good location and others for business travelers.

Arriving May 12, 2024 (about 4ish pm) I noticed a young man sitting by the Front Entrance so I parked outside of the Veranda. I acknowledged the young adult and proceeded in to check costs and availability. The young Lady provided all and I started to check the room. I noticed another car entering the Entrance area and I decided to move my vehicle. As I headed past the desk the young asked where I was going and I provided “to move Trk)….Surprisingly she said not to do that and the Marine/Roughneck living inside of me started to answer and I stopped me/him to provide instead “there is a Lady in the other car and they may need to move their car” mine complicating the drive thru. I didn’t think much about this until 9:00 pm when my truck parked across the Parking Lots farthest (fm my rooms visibility) location that a blk f150/2016 entered the spot next to my Trk which could handle a Honda Accord but not a Trk. I blinked my lights to let whoever know as I hadn’t seen anyone leave the Trk. Around 9:45 pm a young lady who accessed the Office was returning to the Trk. By 10:30 I blinked my lights again and the Trk finally drove off. Next morning it became evident that someone had been in the truck and attempted to siphon gas, a complicated job to perform on a Silverado or any later model truck. Since my gauge showed no loss I was relieved until I realized the Gas Door had been leaned on and was now broken. Summary this Best Western Parking Lot is being preyed upon by some group. The communication between the individuals and the Desk Clerk/Employee (possibly) seem questionable. Considering the initial check in activity provided. The next day I moved to the Springhill Suites by Marriott in Rosenberg TX, right down the Street fm this Best Western and found the Answer to all my traveling Americans dreams. The Hotel has 5 Stories surrounded by a meticulously maintained Property. The Check In Floor is open and beautifully decorated. I met all the Staff while spending 3 Days there and each Lady was friendly, attentive and ready to provide all necessary requests of we Travelors! I will access the Springhill Suites Marriot website to complete this 5 Star Review of one of the finest Hotels I have visited! 1. *DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Houston at the Galleria IS THE FIRST HILTON-MANAGED HOTEL I'm STAYING IN WITH SUCH UNHOSPITABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL FRONT OFFICE STAFF. 2. The front office staff, unfortunately, are a new guest’s first contact but they lack professionalism and decorum. First impressions last forever, they say. 3. They don’t wear name tags at the front office (except Pinky Pradhan), so they carry on providing sub-standard services in anonymity. 4. THE RESTAURANT STAFF ARE ALL SO CORDIAL & SO NICE. 5. The food was excellent. 6. The facilities are super (gym and pool) except that the lifts are so slow and were perpetually being fixed for the seven nights I stayed there. 7. Only one electric power outlet (charging point) in the King size room, which was far from the work desk. So, laptop use was not fun. I was on a business trip, not on holiday 8. I was told that a guest has to be Hilton Honors DIAMOND to qualify to have a bottle of water in your room...amazing! I chose the hotel because of its proximity to JW Marriott, venue of my training, so I could do a few minutes' walk to and fro. I wish I stayed at the Marriott. I may not recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Houston at the Galleria to any one I care about.

I initially posted a review but had to remove it and provide an update. I stayed at this hotel for only one evening. I was in Houston for work and when I returned to my hotel room, all items I had in the room that were not in a closet or drawer were gone. In total, it was over $430 worth, including my gym shoes, apple magsafe charger, food, and toiletries. I informed the front desk and my experience with Lenice was absolutely horrible. No empathy at all for someone who had just had most of their day-to-day items taken and she was extremely rude. I cut the stay short and went to another hotel and filed a police report. It has taken 72 hours of me calling the hotel and IGH's corporate office to find out that anyone who went in the room denies seeing anything in there and I have to wait for the police to investigate. The corporate office has been no help. I'll never stay at another IGH hotel.

I stayed here over the weekend to visit my daughter who lives nearby. The check in was fine but then things quickly went down hill from there. Many of the lights in the room didn’t work and neither did the TV. I can deal with limited lighting but I had to have TV so I called down to the front desk. The same attendant who checked me in, Adina, rudely answered the phone in an irritated manner and hung up on me before I could fully explain my concerns. Maintenance was sent up to my room and the guy was incredibly nice and helpful but he couldn’t fix my TV. So they had to move me to another room. Adina’s horrible attitude impacted my trip for absolutely no reason at all. Guests should be able to call the front desk without worrying if they will annoy the staff. Especially for the more than $335 I paid for two nights. I didn’t feel very welcome because of her.
