Was fantastic staff were really nice and helpful and the whole were clean, parking was good with good lighting and cctv cameras, will definitely be going back on a regular basis and breakfast was amazing, thanks to michael and lyndsay

Very friendly greeting from hosts. Room clean, bed and pillows comfortable and room quiet. Plenty of parking spaces. Bathroom clean and everything worked well. Breakfast excellent, really set us up for the day at beamish which is close to this location. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely return when in the area.

Lovely wee place, breakfast was amazing, beds bouncy and comfy, light airy room, spotless! Bathroom high spec, staff lovely, live music last night was……. Different! 😳 we will come back when in the area, defo book here again, see you soon 👍 x

When we walked into The Ball Alley we were greeted with a lovely smile from Lindsey, who took us to our room. She explained that we had use of a kitchen as it was a B & B. Lindsey asked about any dietry special needs for breakfast. We were in room 1 which was clean, airey and had everything we needed for a very comfortable night. Considering we were above a pub there was very little noise and what little we could hear stopped very early. All the staff we met were really cheerful and welcoming. We were impressed with the breakfast which was included in the price. We were visiting Beamish which was only a few miles away. We would highly recommend a stay here.

I was so pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The rooms and facilities were great, we stayed for 1 night to attend a wedding at the south causey. Allowed us to meet them early to check in and get the key as wouldn’t be returning until later. Really comfy beds, clean room with everything you need and breakfast the next day was brilliant. Couldn’t have asked for more, excellent value for money, proper little pub.

Staff were friend helpful, welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed to make our stay a good one Room was spacious,clean,comfortable beds, good size bathroom. Very reasonably price Fantastic!

Needed a place to stay to attend a weekend event at St James' Park and, having never been to Newcastle before, I used a hotel booking site to find somewhere reasonably priced and nearby. I couldn't have chosen better. I contacted The Ball Alley when I booked to see if I could.leave my car there on the Saturday morning while at the stadium- no problem. Bus stop within a few metres into the city centre. On arriving back in the evening, it was lively in the bar with a singer on and apologies were made but, it was fine and we couldn't hear her much unless someone left the bar area as the windows were all open. We were able to take drinks up to our room and, since they don't serve food, ordered a takeaway to be delivered. No problem. Great night's sleep and a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was lovely. Really helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely choose to stay here again.

We stayed here for one night after attending a wedding at the South Causey Inn. It's ideal as the causey in is quite expensive to stay . We had to wait till 3pm to get booked as the pub doesn't open till 4pm the room was more than acceptable nice and clean nothing over the top but absolutely fine for us . Tea coffee station with extras on the nearby landing 👌. Breakfast was superb all fresh and good quality produce with large portion more than enough to set you up for the day. If would recommend the ball alley as an alternative if you were ever invited to the causey Inn its only about 10/12 min stroll and more than half the cost 😉. Spot on 😘
