Stanwick Hotel Reception 10/10 A lovely warm welcome, super smiley. Everything explained on arrival Restaurant 10/10 Food quality and presentation was superb. The styling of the restaurant was just stunning and overlooked the gardens which were immaculate. Parking 10/10 Loads of secure parking spaces. No issues at all. Room 8/10 Stayed in room 20, rooms are in a courtyard on ground level. Small but comfortable. Iron and ironing board available, hairdryer. Tea and coffee, dressing table to work from or do make up and hair. Breakfast 9/10 7am - 10am Lots of choice - fruit, yoghurt, pastries Tea, coffee, fruit juices. Order hot items from a menu - load of choice , full cooked breakfast ,.breakfast sandwiches Room price £115 including breakfast / double room - Wednesday Overall-we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the gardens and restaurants are the highlight. This hotel is such a hidden gem ✨️

Met a friend here for lunch today - first time visiting and won’t be the last . What a lovely hotel. Restaurant comfortable and very tastefully decorated, menu great and good value . Nice to be able to get sandwiches at lunchtime rather than a main meal. Staff super efficient and friendly . Grounds look beautiful and will look forward to enjoying the better weather there. Thank you .

The Stanwick Hotel is in a rural location, but within a 15 minute drive of nearby towns and villages with food options if these are needed. The hotel had ample parking. Despite it being winter, I enjoyed having the grounds of the hotel to walk around after my journey. The hotel has a number of chalet type rooms outside the main building, side by side. The entrance was at ground level direct into the room, which I liked. I was able to walk straight out to my car on leaving the room. Only a few rooms appeared to be occupied during my stay, so it was quiet. My only issue with the room was that the key handle/lock appeared rather stiff, and some force needed to be used to raise the handle in order to lock it. The bed was comfortable, the heating worked well and the shower was nice and hot. Breakfast was ordered from a menu, with some self-serve items. Regards staff, an older gentlemen behind the bar wore an elf outfit (it was a week before Christmas), a gardener was maintaining flower beds (in winter), and reception staff were chatty and friendly. I thought all of these were nice touches and showed that care was taken to maintain the hotel and give customers a good experience. Good value for the price. I would stay again.

Sad to say, I am really disappointed for the second time, thus feel compelled to comment. Booked for today at 14:00, long in advance, paid £325 for a Sunday lunch 8 adults 2 infants, my 66 birthday. We were placed in the function room, felt completely isolated from the main bar and restaurant ambiance. No sooner arriving we were asked to sit down quickly and place orders for food. Plates after main course not cleared, didn’t get asked if we want a desert, and had to go get drinks from the bar ourselves. So headline is; all very rushed, end of shift syndrome, felt to be a nuisance rather than a customer. If 14:00 sittings are a problem, the hotel would be better off not taking them. Won’t book again or recommend. Sorry.

Very functional with really great amenities. Very clean and the rooms are well appointed. Room service is excellent with quite an extensive menu and the staff are very friendly. Great location with easy access to several major towns in the immediate vicinity.

Just returned from a lovely two night stay at The Stanwick Hotel , the bedroom was beautiful and shower amazing . Sunday lunch was first class amazing Sirloin beef with all the trimmings and the breakfasts were freshly cooked to order were the best out of all the hotels i've stayed in . To sum up a great value hotel with very good food and one we shall return to .

Excellent short break. We stayed 2 nights and as we began I our stay on a Sunday were lucky to receive a very good rate The restaurant is superb with an exemplary Sunday lunch but the next morning breakfast was one of, if not the best, we have ever had at a hotel.

The room was fine, comfy beds and very clean. Attended a family wedding and stayed for 2 nights. Had a steak meal on the Friday evening which was very average, dessert was lovely. Breakfast the following two mornings was okay but ignore the online menu as this is a buffet breakfast so there is nothing cooked to order or available. Tea and coffees available but from a hot flask type jug which is unacceptable as it was either cold or very weak it should be made fresh to order. A tea pot and milk jug is not too much to ask. Staff were not very good at replenishing items they appear to lack in training. Not their fault but would benefit from leadership which was sadly lacking.
