Banhoek lodge provided the perfect getaway at the end of a tour of South Africa. Perfectly located for so many amazing wineries in the area, several within walking distance. The attention to detail here is obvious. From proteas on the bedside tables, to walking maps from the hotel and vouchers for free tasting at a couple of local places. Endless possibilities for food in all directions (Steplenboch town is less than 10min away), either on foot or by Uber (which was always easy to pick up) so don’t be put off by the lack of dining here. You are spoilt for choice! Breakfast either in room or in the dining room was so good. The room itself was stunning with incredible views over the Banhoek Valley, comfortable bed and a well stocked and reasonably priced mini bar. Staff were always friendly and helpful, and full of knowledge of the local area. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Banhoek Lodge to anyone. A perfect Stellenboch escape! We will be back!

EXCELLENT service the receptionist disk offered by Shannon made our stay most enjoyable. Courteous, professionally dressed, efficient , she answered our queries quickly. The view from our room was magnificent and the food great- can highly recommend this lodge !

Lovely stay, amazing view, best ever, very kind staff. We will definitely come back. The rooms are amazingly well placed and the view (we had nice weather) from the bed is one of a kind… ! The staff is on point, very kind, helpful, and remember what we ordered the day before! 100% recommended

I absoutley LOVED our stay here. The views are stunning and your private balcony with bi folding doors was a perfect place to admire them with breakfast brought to your room or even better wine. You can walk to several winerys nearby and we got 2 complimentary visits with our stay. Thelma was amazing! Well worth the walk. Staff were friendly. Location was great. Easy to get an uber to either Stallenbosch or Franschhoek. Would love to come back+!

I think your reply to Belinda Slabber is pathetic to say the least. Your so called inverter in the room does not charge a computer or a cell phone. It also does not provide lighting in the bathroom. A four star lodge should have a strong back up solar system as well as a generator. No excuses!!

On arrival we were told that there was no electricty due to loadshedding! there is no backup lighting or charging facilities during loadshedding too, nothing can be ordered from staff!how can a boutique hotel charging these prices not have solar or an inverter to supply guest with basic amenity like electricity??? it went off twice in 1 day so most of our stay we were without electricity

Unbelievable location. Incredible rooms - tastefully decorated and a view that you can only dream of! The staff are all very friendly and helpful and it was really easy to get to so many other places. I can't recommend enough.

Our stay at Banhoek Lodge was wonderful. The lodge is nestled in a valley between two mountains, making for stunning views! The lodge is walkable to a few wineries which was great. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Truly an amazing experience. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the Stellenbosch wine country.

This hotel is a gem. Michael and the front desk staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful during our stay. The rest of the staff (kitchen, maintenance, etc) were also very pleasant and kind to interact with. Our room with a terrace overlooking wineries was spacious, beautiful and very comfortable (setup, bed, linens, towels). The breakfast menu is rich and the many items we tried during our 4 night stay were all delicious. We made use of the 2 free wine tastings in the area. The wineries were lovely and we explored the other highlights in the area. It was great to return to the calm and beauty of the Lodge.
