Hotel 2 Bintang di Sudbury

Good hotel for accessing medical appointments. New carpeting in rooms. Door to room did not close properly though. Perkins restaurant was overpriced and not very good. I’d stay again for another medical appointment but likely not for recreational travel.

Hotel yang bagus, kakitangan yang menyenangkan, bilik pancuran mandian yang besar dan tempat tidur yang selesa. Sarapan pagi sangat bagus dan semua langkah berjaga-jaga telah diambil untuk Covid. Satu-satunya kelemahan adalah permaidani di lorong yang tergelincir hampir sepanjang jalan ... bahaya tersandung ... kemalangan menunggu untuk berlaku.

I don’t normally write reviews but felt compelled to after my stay here. This is not a place to bring a family to with kids. We weren’t familiar with the area but upon arrival, we noticed that the “parking lot” (room for 6 cars) and general area around the hotel were full of people on drugs/homeless. We felt worried leaving our car there. The rooms are dated & in need of repairs, toilet seat was falling off & bathroom door wouldn’t lock. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast was ok, the basics, nothing amazing. We noticed that there were a number of hotel guests that were members of the homeless community - which it’s great that they have somewhere to stay but we didn’t feel safe having our kids there. Lots of people strung out on drugs in the hallways and on the elevator. The staff were all lovely and helpful. Just wanted to warn people that this is not a good/safe are of town, which is unfortunate for people trying to run a hotel business because it isn’t their fault.

I got bed bugs bite after the stay. It’s unfortunate but I feel like during my business travels, unless I am booking premium higher end hotels where it is at least $130-$150+ per night, there is about 20-30% chance that I wake up with bites.. i can never see them and everything always appears ok but you find out after the fact, a day or two later. My biggest question to hotels are do you guys wash ALL bed sheets, fitted sheets, pillow cases, blankets, covers etc after every single stay? I can probably bet my next paycheque that I wouldnt be surprised if that’s not the case with most lower end hotels and it’s quite alarming…

At the first impression, I thought the area was sketchy but changed my mind and decided to stay as was looking to stay nearby work place. The hotel staff were very courteous, helpful, polite, and the rooms was with all amenities as well very clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was satisfied and good with morning start up.

My son and I stayed at this Super 8 on the second night of our cross-Canada trip. Having left Central Alberta on Friday morning, we arrived at the Sudbury Super 8 late on Saturday evening after our second full day of driving. We were ready to go straight to sleep. At some point after we went to sleep, but before we woke up around 6am, the door opened and someone turned on the lights!!! The front desk gentleman had also assigned our room to a new guest just checking in, and she came directly into our room while we slept. We woke as soon as the lights turned on, and the lady was likely as shocked as we were, and she apologized and immediately left, but the fact she was able to unlock our door and walk into our room is clearly not acceptable. The next morning when we checked out, we complained to the gentleman at the front desk, who indicated that he was the one who assigned the room to the lady who had come in... but the part I was not at all happy with (not that I was happy with any of it) was that he did not seem very bothered by the fact he had given access to our room to another guest! Clearly this is NOT acceptable for a hotel! There were a couple other incidents that I could also include, but I think the anecdote above is enough reason for me to indicate that I will not be staying at this hotel again, should I ever be passing through Sudbury again.

Clean room, staff was nice and friendly. There isn’t much breakfast available (it was grab & go breakfast), but the hotel is located close to a lot of food chains and restaurants. The hotel is right next to a Dairy Queen, nice for food, but my room window was directly facing the drive thru, which was quite noisy. If you close the window and curtains the sound almost goes away. My room and a double bed, chair, desk, desk chair, and two wardrobes. Overall, it’s a good hotel for a night’s stay.
