Melia Sunny Beach All Inclusive

Although the hotel offers everything you might need in terms of choice of food and drink, it lacks atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend going middle to late September as they close some of the bars and restaurants. We found the restaurant to be manic (no matter what time of day you went), really difficult to get a table, not a nice dining experience. Added to that how greedy some people are and the amount of wasted food. The best meal we had was the Indian restaurant as the main restaurant food, although varied and plentiful was rather bland. Unfortunately, we only went there on the last day it was open, which was a shame. Consequently, we ate out most days so I'm guessing All Inclusive is not for us. Our room was in block B with a partial sea view but that meant we backed onto the fun fair and you could hear the noise up until 3.30am (I had to play white noise on phone to drown it out). Although the cleaners changed towels every day, they never once made bed, which I thought odd but not a problem to do it myself. Re the staff, all of the cleaners were pleasant and greeted you if passed in corridor; one particular young lady who checked us in was cheerful and helpful; the lady who checked us out, not so much. The lad with beard who serves the burgers etc at snack bar by pool was wonderful, a real asset. We wouldn't recommend Sunny Beach as a resort (way too tacky), however, Nessebar is lovely, we went there most days, only 2 lev on bus.

Spent 2 weeks in September room was very spacious overlooking the pools. Entertainment wasn't the best mostly for children which there were quite a lot of .the dining rooms were a nightmare so busytoo many people coming in there as there was 3 buildings only 2 dining rooms open.never had that were you cannot find a empty table to sit down .very noisy people going all ways around food countersand noisy chairs constantly screeching along floor .we ended up going out for food as noise stress at meal times was unbearable trying to find seat. Which is not purpose when you go all inclusive. Why trying to cram so many people in to 2 dining rooms whywas 3rd shut that was not acceptable the first 4 days it wasn't like that something changed I thing they closed the 3rd dining room.that was an experience I never want to have to go through ever .meal times should be nice on holiday not stressful never seen anything like it in my life .I paid a lot money for my holiday worked hard for it .it was shame as the hotel itself was a nice hotel but I definitely wouldn't go back there . Why didn't management do something about the dining rooms far too many people going through such shame you don't put customers first. We got told there was a convension in other dining room that why it was closed .really not putting guests first.is that why so many going through the other 2 dining rooms coffee machine in hall ways and around hotel were amazing so good to pop out room to get coffee . Just certain important things let hotel down . I also agree with sunbeds are far too close too each other felt like sardine s in a tin and some of them were quite dirty very low down and very uncomfortable probably the worst I ever got on . So although there were really good things about hotel I think the bad things were too much and which affected our holiday greatly

Group of 11 with 5 children ranging from 7 - 18 years old stayed for 10 days at the end of August. We absolutely loved this hotel, animation team during the day were brilliant (Big shout out to King Julien), the food was excellent- The choice of 5 restaurants as well as a snack bar and a pizza van! Hotel pools were spotless and lifeguards did a good job to ensure the sunbed situation was "fair". Rooms were absolutely huge (we had a family room and it was the best we've ever stayed in). We didn't upgrade to a pool view but we never spent time on the balcony so it wasn't an issue to us. Beer was good, ice cream was "Mr Whippy" style which was better than the miserable lads serving it! Location was bang in the heart of Sunny beach and Nessebar was a 3 mile walk which we loved! Also visited the Nessebar waterpark which was phenomenal, quite expensive at 70+Lev per person (Over 1.3Mtrs classed as an adult) but 100% worth the money! Went out on our anniversary to Khans tent which was also brilliant! Loved Bulgaria and loved this hotel. Thankyou to the hard working staff that make this hotel fun, clean and safe.

Melia hotel Sunny beach Bulgaria September first 2 weeks, Weather it and miss some places closing for end of season. Big hotel lots of kids and very busy. Food and drink ok but in the buffet restaurant it’s very noisy with wooden chairs being constantly screeched on the tile floors. loads of smokers everywhere and Plenty of ignorant people with no manners. Sun beds around pools and on beach soon snapped up. Ideal position for shops and restaurants. Indian restaurant nothing special and the same goes for the Chinese restaurant. No courtesy rooms for late flight home and the facilities for a shower and change of clothes are pathetic, 1 men’s shower and change facilities in spa and 1 in ladies with no privacy as a man walked into the shower room and used the toilet while my wife was in the shower, manager should seriously look at this as it’s perverse.

We have stayed in bulgaria twice now 1st time sveti valas premier fort was amazing my youngest daughter could go on all the slides BUT at the melia hotel sunny beach totally different experience and we paid lot more money, don't get me wrong rooms lovely BUT the staff let it down so rude, for example beginners of our holiday my husband put towels out then came back to apartment to then go back down to a note and our towels gone saying cannot do this BUT we saw lots of others foing the same thing not fair, 2nd was my youngest daughter who is 6 went on her own on one of the slides has the guard wasn't paying attention has he was sat on his PHONE so she went on 2nd time to be told NO too small,so I said you let her on a minute ago but you was on phone, then to top it off this lady took her little boy on slide then went back down steps to wait at bottom! So I said why can't I do that? He just shuck his head, further into our holiday at breakfast time was about 1003am they stopped serving breakfast at 10am my little one wanted some toast well I asked they said no she wasn't only asking for a cooked breakfast end of the day we paid lots if money and she got nothing for breakfast that day, last we was in the indoor pool my husband was just swimming and he got told by guard stop diving!! OMG what a joke staff very rude not coming back here again very disappointed.

Second year visiting melia sunny beach, they had upgraded our room on arrival lovely surprise, yet again a lovely stay couldn’t fault it, food as usual was lovely, I did put my foot in the pool in front of block B and quickly went to block C which was lovely. Staff are lovely and the man on the snack bar has a smile for everyone such a nice man. Cleaning impeccable throughout the hotel the staff never stop, towels changed every day. I love this hotel and would definitely return well done to all staff that make it such a enjoyable holiday

Researched hotel and area prior to coming. Talked to people who have been to area and all gave rave reviews. Can’t really understand what they expect from a holiday! Hotel itself was clean, beds available daily, room service daily. Entertainment team a little lacklustre. Only actually came around to talk on the day we left. Food was mainly edible, although a little cold at times. Ok for a few days but a little repetitive as the week went on. No information given on arrival re the different restaurants on site, although on day when we realised, on trying the other 2, realised they were all mainly the same. Staff at reception pleasant and daily room service great. Most staff elsewhere quite ignorant. Service in dining room all carried out with basic grunts, no thanks or response when handing plates back. Certainly seemed as if they didn’t want to be there. One big help was provision of a wheelchair for a party member, where you only have a deposit and had that back on leaving. This you don’t get in many hotels. Outside hotel complex, people only pleasant when selling or trying to get you into bars etc, or serving you in bars and looking for tips following. Generally population ignorant and non communicative with non area residents. The Sunny Beach area itself was the most disappointing. Run down and seriously in need of an upgrade. Can’t understand what brings people here. Also told how cheap it was. Don’t believe all your told. There were some positives. Found a few bars where we had a good night, The Fat Cats being the best. This I understand is just my opinion. Enjoyed the break but won’t be returning, the rest of my party all in agreement.

We stayed All Inclusive for a week from 2nd September. It was our first visit to the hotel which itself is impressive. The rooms are spacious, clean and modernly finished throughout to a high standard. The food and drinks were also very good. A wide range of choices at meal times and there is an option to self serve your beer and wine which significantly cuts down on queuing times. The hotel is also ideally located very near to the resort centre and also close to Nessebar. Unfortunately what lets the hotel down is the entertainment. The standard of the evening shows was disappointing and wasn't proportionate to the excellence of this kind of hotel which really surprised us. We didn't see a single member of the animation staff until the last day of the holiday and at no time did we see or hear them interacting and engaging with the guests which is what the majority of us would expect to see. The hotel appears to mainly cater for young families so couples (young and old) and solo travellers may not find this hotel ideal for them.

*WE ARE A COUPLE WITH NO KIDS* PROS • Good food, fairly good spread for veggies. Vegans had less choice, but if you’re happy with salad and maybe 1 different option per meal you’d be ok. Food is fairly well labelled. • Good location close to the ***** and beach. • Good amount of sun loungers around pool and at beach, still can be difficult to find one but the hotel run a strict no reservations of loungers policy which gives everyone a fair chance. • Entertainment every night, all that we saw was good. • Room was nice, comfy bed, good shower, air con, added touch of a coffee machine and water machine in each corridor. Nice sized balcony overlooking the pool. • Wrist band room key which meant I didn’t have to dig through my bag every 5 minutes • Friendly staff, helpful when we had a leaky sink, it was fixed fast! • Drinks and ice cream at bar was tasty CONS • Proper entertainment starts at 9:30pm, which if you’ve been out all day, I think is abit late. Totally personal preference. • Seating for evening entertainment is limited, you have to get a seat around 8pm if you want to be able to see (which means you also have to sit through the kids disco for 1hr) • Leaky sink & loose toilet in room, this was sorted very quickly after we reported. • The bed, whilst comfortable, was 2 single beds pushed together, there didn’t seem to be an option for an actual double bed. • DONT PARK ON THE STREET OUTSIDE, they will tow your car! ATTRACTIONS • Good bars within walking distance • Close to fun fair • Very close to market • 2BGN bus to Nessebar from bus station around a 5 minute walk away. Nessebar was an enjoyable day out for us.
