A very old fashioned house which is great! The rooms were beautiful, however the bathroom was very old, cold, no light, drainage blocked which flooded the whole bathroom, small shower head and curtains which is not higienic at all.
The building is very old and doors and windows are drafty which are not convenient in December. Air conditioner set up on 30 and still cold in the room.
Beautiful tea set up 🤗

Good: The location is good. Price is very competitive. You may find some interesting roommates.
Bad: Mosquitoes, especially annoying on the night when I stayed in the ground floor. Bathrooms are shared, hence don’t expect too much cleanliness.
Verdict: if you’re tight on budget or don’t mind mosquitoes, you can go for it!

Great traditional style hostel in an old building in the main street of old Suzhou, location and vibe are perfect.
Wooden floors and forniture and indoor garden.
I spent 5 nights here and It was a lovely and relaxing stay.
The staff is useful and nice, the receptionist even helped me to bring my heavy luggage upstairs.
Only small cons: no soap in the bathrooms/showers and no drinkable water machine (there are water fountains on the street right outside so not a big deal).

the location is amazing and the hostel is just such a stunning style of architecture. unfortunately it was super hard to find as the former entrance is now a suzhou museum gift shop. you gotta go to the left of it into the small alley and turn right into the costume shop. that's where the new entrance is located.
unfortunatelly the bathroom next to my room wasn't cleaned at all for the duration of my stay. it looked like absolute hell with old bandaids, feathers, fake lashes, double eyelid strips und an exploded toothpaste laying around. the cleaning staff took great care of keeping the floors and rooms clean so i really don't get it....
