Hotel berhampiran Fuggerium, Swabia

… und das gilt nicht nur für das Dorint in Augsburg, sondern für viele weitere Dorint-Hotels in ganz Deutschland. Angefangen von der Bausubstanz des Gebäudes, welche die Alterserscheinungen nicht verheimlichen kann, sondern auch das zusammengewürfelte Personal, welches einem nicht das Gefühl geben kann, in einem 4…5 Sterne Hotel untergekommen zu sein. Ich brauche hier keine Bilder von abbröckelndem Putz, Wasserflecken in der Decke oder wackeligen Lichtschaltern zu zeigen; das haben andere vor mir bereits erledigt. Hinzu kommt noch, dass das angrenzende Parkhaus eine Bauruine ist und der Gast samt Koffer durch den Park spazieren darf, bevor er sein Auto erreicht. Und zuletzt noch das leidige Thema, dass einem beim Frühstück Teller und Besteck unter den Händen weggerissen werden, während man den letzten Bissen noch im Mund hat. Sehr schade, aber so schaufelt man sich sein eigenes Grab!

We are on day 9 of being in Bavaria and I think our 5th or 6th hotel. This is by far the best and most comfortable. The bed is so awesome. The staff are welcoming. Two big drawbacks; no air conditioning and finding the actual hotel location. We arrived late at night, I had made a reservation and paid ahead of time. We were so frustrated at not being able to find the hotel we drove about 10 minutes away and were going to check into a Holiday Inn Express. The guy at the front desk there was sooooo sweet, when I told him we were unable to find the NinetyNine Hotel, he did everything but drive us to the front door. He printed off directions and told us exactly what to look for! It's located next to the Universitat Augsburg a sort of industrial area on the outskirts of town. When we woke up in the day time we realized the GPS had taken us right next to the hotel but there are no visible neon signs at night. I am really glad we wound up finding it. They hotel is big on sustainability and animal conservation and awareness. The decor is wonderfully strange yet welcoming with butterflies 🦋, monkeys, fish 🐟 and other animals all around. There is a full bar in the lobby, breakfast is available and a small refrigerator in the lobby with drinks for sale. Oh and it is located above the Rewe grocery store and you get access to the fitness center right next door. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is located near the hospital, around 5 km (3 miles) away from the city center. You can visit the city by tram or by taxi/Uber. The hotel has spacious rooms (for European standards) and it is clean. The beds are comfortable. But what I liked the best is the attitude of the personnel. They are *ALL* very kind, ready to help you with anything, and very accommodating. One thing you need to keep in mind, though, is that the reception is not open 24 hrs. If you leave after hours (e.g., early morning) you need to check out the night before and then you leave the room key in your room. Another great feature is the quality of the breakfast buffet they have. you really need to try it! It includes eggs (hard-boiled and scrabbled), an assortment of cured meats and cheeses, freshly baked croissants and various breads, sweets, and a bunch of other items. If breakfast is not included in the room price, it costs 15 Euros (and it is well worth it!) Around the hotel there are not too many things to do. You can have dinner there or walk 7-8 min to go to a nearby biergarten (Grill 'n Chill). But be aware that at certain times at night, sitting outside makes you a mosquito target. If you are going to the Munich airport they can recommend you a taxi/limo service, which operates a direct shuttle service for 50 Euros (they have more expensive options if you do not want to share your drive). This is a great deal since the railway ticket costs 29 Euros, you need to get a taxi to the station (I paid 15 Euros for Uber), and you need to change trains in Munich. So, if you need to stay near the hospital or you want a very good place to stay while visiting Augsburg, this is a great choice.

Personnel souriant, discret et check in/out rapide. Très belle chambre quasi neuve. Bar sympa. L'hotel localisé à moins de 2km de l'A8 offre un comfort d'étape qui fait beaucoup de bien. On reviendra.

Sehr gute Lage mitten im Ort, sehr gute Verkehrsanbindung. Renoviertes 3-Bett-Business-Zimmer. Sehr sauber und zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Der Seifenbehälter im Bad am Waschbecken war leider komplett leer, so dass wir das Duschgel aus der Dusche nehmen mussten. Dies beanstandeten wir nicht, sondern teilten es lediglich beim Auschecken mit. Ein Wasserkocher mit Instantkaffee und/oder Tee wäre nett gewesen. Frühstück war sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Das Personal war höflich, jedoch eher distanziert. Wir hatten vergessen, zwei unserer Kinder, welche woanders in der Nähe übernachteten, zum Frühstück anzumelden. Wir bitten, dies vielmals zu entschuldigen, dennoch waren insbesondere unsere Kinder etwas erschrocken, als die zuständige Dame etwas unpassend darauf im Frühstücksraum reagierte. Leider war das Hotel nicht ohne Frühstück buchbar, was wir ansonsten gemacht hätten. Für unsere Kleinste, für welche das Frühstück bezahlt war, lohnt sich das Buffet ohnehin nicht, da diese kaum etwas isst. Die „Semmelbestellung“ dürfte also dadurch nicht immens beeinträchtigt worden sein. Das nächste Mal werden wir wieder zur Konkurrenz gegenüber ausweichen. Dort war alles prima vor einer Woche. Ein Vergleich war es dennoch wert.

All the guarantees that a Best Western chain offers...very kind staff, spacious rooms, very comfortable kitchen, excellent breakfast and private parking. Hotel overlooking a small town square, in total tranquility and a few kilometers from Augusta and other more important cities. Traveling by car, therefore not having the need to stay in larger cities, this is the perfect hotel!

Auf unserem Rückweg aus dem Süden haben wir hier gestern Nacht einen Zwischenstopp eingelegt. Das Hotel wirkt sehr neu mit modernen und großzügigen Zimmern. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, unser Frühstück wurde uns auf eigenen Wunsch aufgrund einer frühen Weiterfahrt als Lunchpaket zusammengestellt. Parkplätze stehen in ausreichender Anzahl direkt am Hotel zur Verfügung. Insgesamt ein gelungener Aufenthalt, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ein günstige und gute Gelegenheit in Neu-Ulm zu übernachten. In 15-20 Minuten ist die Ulmer Innenstadt zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die Ausstattung des Hotels ist B&B mäßig recht spartanisch,aber es reicht für einen kurzen Aufenthalt. Es ist zudem sehr sauber in den Zimmern. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder. Falls man mit dem PKW anreist, bieten sich am Allgäuer Ring viele kostenlose Möglichkeiten zum Parken!

Stopped for a night on my way to Austria (11/12.09). Very good location - close to downtown but quiet. Nice beer hall next door (as a hotel guest you get either coffee or shot of Schnaps on the house). Easy to park - directly underneath (7€ for 24 hours). Smooth and efficient check-in, the gentleman working there could easily work at a 5 star hotel. Rooms are the same as in all B&B but sufficient and, what is very important, have AC. Can’t fault anything, unbeatable for the price.
