With Tacoma Amtrak Station just 7km away and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport only 38km away, transportation is very convenient. With multiple attractions nearby including Thea's Park, St. Patrick Parish Center and Shiloh Baptist Church, guests will find plenty to keep themselves occupied. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. When it comes to Tacoma hotels, the Geiger Victorian B&B is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.

We stayed for three nights while attending a wedding on Vashon Island. Skip and Jane are delightful hosts and we enjoyed our morning chats over coffee. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was fantastic each day (eggs one day, french toast another, then crepes). Jane double-checked with us (and others) on any dietary restrictions and set up breakfast accordingly for each individual. It is as Victorian a house as one can find, full of period furniture and trinkets galore to keep you busy just checking out each room. Jane went above and beyond for us as our flight was delayed so we could not make our first night. I called and let her know that we wouldn't arrive until the next morning. Since it was after the official time to cancel the room, I was already planning to pay for the night since they did not have time to re-book, but she wouldn't charge me for it. Then, after we decided to stay an extra night, she re-arranged rooms so that we could stay in our same room even though it had already been booked by someone else. Just little things that made the trip great. I have traveled to Seattle a number of times but never had spent any real time in Tacoma. The town has really blossomed over the past decade, losing a lot of the industrial nature. The streets around the inn are very walkable and we enjoyed getting up early and perusing the neighborhood and then heading up to Point Defiance Park and over to Vashon. The ferry is only 10 minutes away. An enjoyable stay and definitely would stay again if we are back that way.

I'm not used to the city but when my family came to the Courtyard Marriott Downtown we were immediately welcomed. Not only were we able to get check in by the desk quickly and successfully we enjoyed the restaurants in the area as well as the Waterfront near the Museum to take the kids on the hot summer day. Front Desk agents never instructed us about our room getting service system goes at any time and without no Housekeeper supervisor help as I asked the Housekeeper in the hallway named Carmelita for assistance. Although she was very preoccupied with her other assignments; she insisted without question to refresh our room; she even asked if we wanted new sheets on the bed!! What amazing customer service; I was truly surprised but utterly impressed. Thank you so much for your assistance. Food was delicious at the bistro with a calming atmosphere; busy elevators but the stay was overall enjoyable.

PPengguna TetamuLet me start by saying I’m going into this review a little miffed. In my 40+ years of traveling, I’ve never had a hotel or motel tell me I can’t use my reward points. But in this case, I was told the points can only be used for “Standard Rooms” and all their standard rooms were booked. So I went ahead and paid for a … non-standard room???. Well, I got to my room and guess what - it was just a standard motel room. There was absolutely nothing special or deficient with this room. With that said and out of the way, here are the positive aspects of my stay. The facility is somewhat new and it was clean (the bleach smell hung heavy in the air). The staff was courteous, but not necessarily friendly. The bed was medium firm and there were plenty of pillows. The free breakfast was pretty good. Within 150 feet from the hotel there were two restaurant … the food at the Pho restaurant was really good. Now for some downsides … (1) for all you light sleepers, this was a noisy motel. Even though we were in a room on the backside of the motel facing an empty lot, we could still hear the nearby traffic noise. Additionally, we could hear guests talking in their room and hallway. We could also hear the footsteps from the floor above us. (2) this motel is located in a not so nice location of Tacoma … they even lock the front lobby doors after certain hours, so you need to use your room key card to enter the lobby and to operate the elevator. Connected to the noise issue … I did hear a couple of gun shots at about 3 AM.

PPengguna TetamuMy boyfriend and I visited the hotel. The experience was very good. Vanessa welcomed us at the desk entrance in a very friendly way and explained the benefits of the hotel to us. She gave us our key. We enjoyed the room, very comfortable and beautiful. We used our free breakfasts. Kathi. in the kitchen she was very friendly and helpful every day we really liked the hotel and its staff

PPengguna TetamuI wasn't sure what to expect from a hotel in this neighborhood,but I loved this one! Emma at check-in turned around what had been a trying day by laughing with me. My room was very clean, quiet and comfortable.I was afraid I'd hear freeway noise, but I heard nothing. The mattress and pillows were amazing. The room showed some wear (chipped laminate, loose blind pulls), but nothing that impacted my stay. I was very happy that I chose to stay there! Also, lots of restaurants nearby.

Ok….I read the reviews and was anxious about our upcoming one night stay to attend a concert at the Tacoma Dome. Check In - 5 stars, Marlene is wonderful, checked us in a couple of hours early and was just a delight to deal with esp since the hotel was fully booked the night before. Security & Homeless - We felt very secure, lots of remote cameras in parking lot and an over night security guard. Unhoused people are in most urban centres and Tacoma is no different, you will see evidence of this especially if you make the very easy 20 minute walk (straight road) to the Dome….we did not feel unsafe or worried at all. Room (712) on the 7th floor which faces the freeway (we were checked in early and could have had the other more quite side if we wanted to wait). We could hear a bit of Hwy noise but it really was not a problem….if you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs and you will be fine otherwise I’m just becomes white noise. Our room was spotless (thank you house keeping) and fresh, fridge, microwave, iron, coffee etc deluxe king was category. Everything worked except the wifi which for some reason would not let us sign in, the front desk was aware and hopefully that will be fixed soon, we really didn’t need wifi but did use it in the breakfast room the next morning, which worked perfectly. Breakfast - The hotel was fully booked and it was still good, lots of staff (all friendly), nice selection which was fresh and plentiful, no real protein asides from hard boiled eggs, but lots of other choices of yummy mini waffles and syrup, fresh, fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads, muffins, biscuits and gravy, juices, coffee, tea and more…you will find something, but people with gluten or carb issues might not have many options. The breakfast area was spacious and very clean. FYI - There is a $75.00 dollar hold on your credit card for incidentals as their is an on-sight restaurant (we did not try it) and a small shop that you can charge drinks and snacks items to your room. The $75.00 hold on our Visa card was released back to our visa in 24 hours. Check Out - Easy Peasy, Dorothy was full of smiles and asked us how the concert was. Then we were on the I5 on our way home within 2 minutes. All in all, really nothing to fault, our experience was excellent and would stay again without hesitation. Thank you La Quinta Tacoma, keep up the great standards.

PPengguna TetamuDated motor inn overall ok for a short stay. Practical for I-5 and transit from 512 Park & Ride Transit to Seattle, Seatac, and Olympia. Not the best area but full of economic dining options. The actual accommodation ok but lacking. I made a couple of trips back to reception as the wifi in room 268 just didn’t work, there were no clothes hangers, and as I learned later in the evening the new Roku television had not been set up so rotated set up info that without instructions couldn’t be fixed as a guest. Not my job as a guest anyway. Furniture and decor very dated, not particularly inviting, the bed pretty comfortable though. Tbh the rate that I got wasn’t that great and not particularly competitive. Continental breakfast pre packaged cakes, coffee, and juices. I chose Starbucks a 5 minute walk away instead.

We chose to stay at Extended Stay America Tacoma South while relocating to the area, and it made our transition much smoother! The room was spacious and included all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The front desk helped provide the things we needed for our kitchenette too! The hotel also offered laundry facilities, a pet-friendly site, and good TV channels (what a bonus for the kids!!), which were extremely convenient. The grab-and-go breakfast was delicious and quick! The staff, especially Tiffany, were extremely helpful in assisting with any requests we had and very friendly, respectful, and personable. It is a great hotel and I will be recommending it to anyone looking for a place to stay!
