Ulasan The Splendor Taichung Hotel

Even though it’s a bit old(building facade, room renovation), it’s very centrally located and we enjoyed our stay! Photo is from sun moon lake which is around one hour drive from the hotel

We have always stayed in this hotel whenever we go to Taichung. The hotel location is great for us because there are 2 24 hour convenience stores just downstairs. A lot of different restaurants on few steps away. SOGO department store across the street. Too bad the movie theaters are closed now we used to be able to catch a late night movie during our previous trips. Starbucks is in the basement of the building where the hotel is but with the great coffee from Familymart and 711 you do not need starbucks. Bus station is just downstairs. (no train yet in Taichung so this is the next best thing.) There are taxis waiting all the time downstairs as well. The buffet breakfast is great here with a very friendly head chef (head chef Hsieh) who is always present and interacts with all the diners. (too bad we missed him this trip) The rooms are big but do take note of new law in Taiwan and bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste and razors. Although the great thing about this hotel is they do sell toiletries at a cheap price (toothbrush and small toothpaste is just ntd 10) unlike other hotels in Taiwan that absolutely do not provide anything and do not sell. If it is your first time, I would recommend staying here as you will not go wrong here. Then maybe try other hotels next time so you get to experience the Splendor Hotel standard.

I really like this hotel as I have been staying there for more than 20 years. They upgraded the rooms and I really enjoy the sumptuous breakfast with so many food on the breakfast buffet. It makes my day and I will definitely go for this hotel in my next trip again. Cheers

I didn't like the room. There was window with a balcony - but no view. It was facing a hard cold WALL! A closer look at the balcony (that we could not go out to) revealed that it had not been cleaned for a long while!

stay okay, not as worthy as cost, seems old and need refurnishing, breakfast excellent

Spacious room. Our plan for farmstay was affected by the typhoon and we had to make a last minute booking for our stay on Saturday evening. Hotel was kind to upgrade our roo, for Sunday to the same as Saturday.

Location is great! Theres a taxi stop/line right in front of the hotel. There’s so many things to do and explore around the hotel, the kids love it. We enjoy the breakfast buffet too! We would like to stay there again next time!

The hotel service is excellent, staff are friendly and able to speak fluent English. Room is clean and tidy with no complaints. Facilities are good to use and the view from the room is amazing.

Good point: Location. You can easily take on/off city buses in front of the hotel. Improvement required: Staffs’ english skill. All staff were so kind and polite but it take a bit time to communicate with some staff in English.

Very convenient location. Easy access to restaurants and 20mins away from Taichung train station (high speed rail)

Good value for the money. A bit old but is adequate in terms of comfort and cleanliness. Bed was also pretty good for sleeping . Pillows a bit soft though.

We enjoy the stay here. The ambiance in this place is great and they have a friendly staffs.

A standard stay experience

The service is good . When I got there , they are welcomed us and see whether we are comfortable or not. Care about our needs
