Taipei Garden Hotel

The room was spacious, the bed was soft and comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows and towels. There was plenty of tea, coffee, and drinking water.The clothes racks were convenient. The location was within 10 mins walking distance of Ximending and near Cafour. However, the breakfast room was a bit cramped and lacked seating. If there were tour groups, you might have to wait in line.

Good stay for a five star hotel, cleanliness is ok, floor is a bit sticky but it’s ok with the disposable slippers provided. No toothpaste nor toothbrush provided. Location is 10mins walk to xiaonanmen station, 10mins walk to Carrefour with McDonald’s, Japanese restaurants and discount off its bakery after 7pm. It’s very far if walk to or from Ximen station. No sheltered walkway at all so can be troublesome if rain. Tried the free shuttle service to Longshan and we were the only riders in the mini bus. For amenities, only has gym at level 16 with nice view. SPA are additional charged. Breakfast buffet has live station with shrimp porridge, breads from Hanabby bakery at level 1 of hotel, braised pork rice, oden, beef shabu etc. The food selection changed for both days I went. If catching an early flight, hotel can pack breakfast box for you to takeaway but have to book one day in advance.

Hotel is clean and good location. Within walkable distance to ximending. Staff are friendly, helpful and responsive. Hotel is generous to let guests pick candies at lobby making kids very joyful. It’s generally a good hotel and we will be back next time.

Great Location, Friendly Staff, and Thoughtful Amenities – But Bathroom Needs Attention We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and found many things to love. The location is excellent—just a short walk to metro stations and bus stops, and about 15 minutes on foot to Ximending. It’s close enough to the action but still quiet at night, which was perfect for us. There are also several kid-friendly attractions nearby, which made getting around with our son easy and enjoyable. The hotel offers a free shuttle service, which is a great convenience, although it would be even better if it started earlier and ran more frequently. One of the highlights of our stay was the free guided tour—our guide was amazing! She spoke fluent English, was very knowledgeable, and made the experience truly memorable. Another charming feature is the old-school snack corner, which is complimentary for guests. It’s a nostalgic and fun touch. It’s not available 24/7 (unlike another hotel we stayed at in Taiwan), but since it’s part of the restaurant area, it follows their opening hours—which is understandable. The staff deserve special praise—they were consistently helpful, proactive, and kind. From check-in to daily interactions, everyone made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The rooms have recently been renovated and look fresh and modern. I particularly appreciated the switch from carpeted to hard floors—it feels much cleaner and more hygienic. The room itself is spacious, with ample closet space, and the layout is thoughtful, especially for families. However, the bathroom design could use some improvement. While I liked the concept of having a bathtub in the shower area—great for kids to enjoy a bath without splashing everywhere—the tub design wasn't very family-friendly. It's a Japanese-style, tiled tub with sharp edges, and I got scratched multiple times. It doesn’t feel safe for young children. The wooden rack and bucket also had visible mold, and mold was beginning to appear around the tub edges as well. This was disappointing, especially since my son has sensitive skin and developed a rash after using the tub. Despite the bathroom concerns, we still had a great overall experience. I would recommend this hotel for its convenient location, friendly staff, thoughtful services, and family-friendly features—just be cautious about the tub if you're traveling with young children or anyone with sensitive skin.

The hotel was in a very convenient location because it was walking distance from the xinmingdeng night market. Nearby the hotel we had accessibility to a 24 hour mc donald’s, family mart and carrefour (supermarket), coffee shops and local restaurants were walkable distance as well. The only disadvantage of this hotel was that there was no swimming pool because going around october it was supposed to be cooler but it was around 35 degrees so accessing a pool would have been helpful!

Gym has good view. Food is good. I like this hotel.
