The room is pretty small and has a musky smell which can be resolved by opening the hotel windows Decent enough for a 3 star hotel and the price The small room is a double bed as twin bed cost much more.

The room is cozy and have everything needed but small. They have limited parking lot next to the hotel. We have to park at second car park because next to hotel one is full and parking fee JPY500. All the guests except kids have to pay hot spring tax no matter whether use the hot spring facility.

The hotel is very nice and clean and a good value for money. It is also nicely located close to the station by foot and also close to the main interest points. We indeed did everything by foot during our two night stays.  The only thing that was quite annoying is that they only have one laundry machine in the women’s sento and another one in the men’s sento. And it was full we went to do it on both sides so it took us quite some time to manage that (not even speaking about the fact that it is separated and then it means only one person has to take care of the laundry and drying).

the date we stay was a new year eve, the traditional Japanese will stay at home but the staffs are still very professional and friendly, restaurant is opened freely for resident which bring the food from outside. It was good to and highly recommended

Convenient location but parking space are very limited and need to be reserved in advance. Their backup parking lot is quite far.

Pros - Reasonable rates - Nice Onsen bath although it is a bit small. - Nice lounge for free usage from 3 - 10pm - Friendly staff. One even helped me reserved a restaurant for dinner. Cons - Room is really too small. So small that we didn’t want to open the luggage.

Nice hotel, location is close to the bus station. Many places to eat in walking distance to the hotel. As with most hotels in Japan, they NEVER allow early check in. Even if it’s 5 minutes too early, you stand and wait until the power of the key is handed over! Breakfast was nice, coffee was not. Only two laundry machines in the whole hotel. Overall a nice hotel in Takayama.
