Ulasan Hoshokaku

The third time staying in this hotel over the past 5 years. Disappointingly, no improvement was seen, particularly the quality of food presumably to be of high quality for luxurious rooms with private onsen. Routinized Japanese Haute cuisine with no surprise, four small pieces of signature Hida wagyu could only be seen as a decoration. Yet the price was relatively high with over five hundred US dollars for a two-person one night stay (breakfast and dinner included). The service, the food, the environment, etc. require considerable improvement.

Very nice stay for families with elderlies and kids.

Excellent everything, from the food to the facilities, had a great time there. There are multilingual staff members so language barrier is not an issue at all.

Walking to the old street and back to the hotel requires a little bit of climbing A simplified version of a traditional Japanese hot spring hotel The bathroom only has a fixed shower head, which is like taking a shower with rain.

Blizzard stayed in Takayama. I booked a Japanese-style room with a private bath on the roof of Hoshokaku. The private bath is on the balcony. You can see the city in the distance and the snowflakes falling. I couldn't get a taxi during the blizzard. The previous hotel helped me contact Hoshokaku and provided a free car to pick me up. It was very heartwarming. The hotel has a car to the JR station before 10 o'clock every day. It runs every half an hour. It is very convenient

The staff was very friendly, the meals were thoughtfully arranged, and the presentation was exquisite, which was a pleasant surprise. There is roof over the parking lot, so there is no need to worry about heavy snow. It is close to the old street and has a great location. 

The hotel service, food, and accommodations are all excellent. There are no disadvantages at all except that it is a little far from the station. I recommend it to those who enjoy ryokans and are afraid of or feel burdened by local ryokans.

The hotel service is very good! Because of the flight delay and the long customs clearance time, we arrived at the station near the hotel at 9 pm, almost 3 hours later than the original time. The hotel still sent a car to the station to pick us up and left a delicious dinner for us. I was touched and grateful! The hotel is very clean and the service attitude is good! The room rate includes breakfast and dinner, each meal is super rich and cost-effective. In general, it is awesome 👍🏻 Worth recommending 👍🏻👍🏻

The room is spacious, the bed is very comfortable, the onsen is good, not many people, there is an outdoor bath.

The service is great, there are young people who can speak English and elderly people who are very polite. It is very convenient to Shiroyama Park and Hie Shrine. The dinner and breakfast are very rich, it is worth coming again.

The location is not good. Although it is not too far from the old street, it is inconvenient and unsafe to enter and exit the hillside. The slope is a bit steep and high, and the road is slippery when it rains. I was very careful every time I went up and down the mountain, but the child still fell and broke his skin on the gravel road. It is not very convenient to travel. If you miss the hotel's bus time, it will be a bit strenuous and there are not many buses. The room is OK, and the toilet and bathroom are very small. Almost only one person can get in. Dinner can be reserved. It is OK, the cost performance is not high, but on the first day of arrival, there is no need to go out to find food, and it is simpler to bring the elderly and children. The service is general. The service desk and the waiter basically do not speak English. There are only 1-2 people who can communicate fluently in English after staying for a few days, which affects communication and experience. The service of the restaurant is very slow to serve, and you have to urge it. Every time you call for a long time, no one responds. The experience is not good, and the food is OK. After checking out, you will not provide the bus from the hotel to the station, which is still very disappointing. Considering the convenience and safety of travel, as well as the service communication and check-in experience, I will not choose to stay again.
