Golden Sand Khaolak Resort

Based on the positive reviews, I had high hopes for an excellent stay, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short. While the staff were very friendly and polite, that was the only positive aspect. The hotel was nearly empty, yet my room was infested with ants. They were everywhere: on the floor, in the closets, and even on the bed. I had to inspect and clean the bed each night before sleeping and check my clothes before getting dressed. The worst was discovering about 50 ants inside my cosmetics bag right before I left, forcing me to clean everything by hand. Furthermore, there was no hot water for several days. My requests to have it fixed or to be moved to another room were tried to be fixed. However, in the end I was simply told that hot water was only available when the water pressure was low. I find this utterly unacceptable, especially given that the hotel was mostly empty. The pillows were another issue—they were excessively high and firm, making it impossible to sleep without a stiff neck. I ended up having to use my travel neck pillow from the flight. While I was staying alone, my room was booked for two people and included towels for two. However, on the final day, they only provided a single set, which was disappointing. Finally, the breakfast was terrible. After one visit, I never went back. The eggs were incredibly dry, the sausages looked like they came from a convenience store, the tomatoes were bland, and there was an unappetizing piece of cheese with ham. In summary: If you just need a bare-bones place to sleep, this might suffice. However, if you plan to spend any meaningful time in the hotel or expect a comfortable stay, I would not recommend it.
