This is our 3rd time stay at La Flora, This time we stayed here for 3 nights from 17-20 May 2023, Everything excellence as always, the room was spacious and comfortable with high quality cleaning. The breakfast here was so good with many choices and also testy, the staff very attentive and provided excellent service especially ladies who clear up our table. Special thank to front team and appreciated with very kind for upgrading our room, and surprise birthday cake with beautiful bed decoration which made our stay very very special. Over all very impressive, Look forward to staying for the 4th and next, next, next time!!!

Ocean Leaf Great hotel, friendly staff, nice room, clean pool and good breakfast. 2 mins walk from a lovely clean Sandy beach. We stayed here for four nights to unwind before our backpacking adventure across Thailand. Do not try and eat within two hundred meters of the hotel if you want a nice and affordable meal, walk up to the main drag. Go Pong is a good choice, but there are lots of others. We upgraded from 2 suites from a package TUI booking pool villa 838 costing about 42K THB for 14 nights in November and December 2022. 2 adults, and 2 kids age 17 and 10 so the privacy of a private pool was one of our highlights of the holiday. This is such a peaceful resort with beautiful surroundings and very helpful staff. Notably Emme, Gift, Mark, Tee, Big, Yuda, Tar, Pecky and Winai. This resort is not within walking distance of town / Biang Nang market area, and a taxi to go there will set you back 300 THB each way from the guys on the beach outside the gate. That's the going rate both ways so don't be conned by a chancer. In the resort there's 2 restaurants, one's a buffet and the Napalai on the villa side of the river and you can eat from both if you upgrade. There are 2 swimming pools, several bars and organised trips to temples, islands, local markets, animal sanctuaries offered from the front desk or holiday rep so you aren't cut off from civilisation by being in such a remote area surrounded by beach and jungle, which is actually a plus point if you're a surfer, nature or beach lover because this resort scores a 10 if that's what interests you. We didn't travel to Thailand for the nightlife, just to chill in some winter sun. There's ample entertainment just 10 minutes away from the resort, in town or Memories bar, but if you want boom, boom, boom and all night drinking go to Phuket instead. I'd definitely return, but not with children.

Großes Hotel am wunderschönen Strand.
Es gibt einige Strandrestaurants außen herum, was sehr praktisch für einen Mittagssnack oder Abendessen ist. Um das Hotel herum ist leider sonst gar nichts, der nächste Supermarkt ist 3 km entfernt. Die Preise im Hotel sind dementsprechend höher, wobei es einen kleinen Einkaufsmarkt für Wasser und Knabbersachen gibt.
Wir hatten eine Villa gebucht. Leider war alles insgesamt sehr abgewohnt (zb Flecken an den Wänden, Staub und Sand unter Sofa, fleckiger Teppich, im Bad überall Kalk).
Auch die liegen am Strand und am Pool sollten dringend ausgetauscht werden.
Wir waren vor 7 Jahren schon mal im Kantary und da wurde wesentlich mehr Wert auf Freundlichkeit und Sauberkeit gelegt. Jetzt hatte man das Gefühl von Massenabfertigung…
Wir werden nicht mehr wiederkommen.

We travelled with 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids 8-12) and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our second visit to Mai Khao Lak and we were equally as happy. Stayed in the top section (pool access jacuzzi suite). Modern, clean room with a separate living room, which doubles as a kid's room. Walk off the balcony into private spa area which joins massive swimming pool. There are no shortage of wet options with 5 pools from the beachfront area to the peaceful adults only pool area at the top of the resort. Loads of choices for bars and food. The new Thai restaurant by the beach is very comfortable with great food. At the kids pool area there is another kitchen and bar with great lunch options. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is an hourly free shuttle bus from reception to town which is convenient, otherwise walk to the beachfront and you can get a tuk tuk (if you order through reception it will cost more!). Breakfast buffet is easy to navigate, with a huge selection of coffee / tea, fresh fruits / yoghurts, cooked food, cereal, pastries, cakes and sweets, loads of bread choices and cold cuts & cheeses. This was a big highlight for the kids and great way for us to all gather and catch up to start the day together. The beach and ocean are very nice, and the many options of beachfront bars, restaurants, laundry services and massage places are all within a 1-5 minute walk from the resort. We visited most of these during our stay and never had a bad experience. Kids club is awesome with plenty of fun and varied activities to engage the kids. If I had to fault something - the internet inside our room was poor, but in most other areas of the resort it was fine. So the 2 big questions... would we go back (a third time)? YES! and would we recommend it to friends? YES! Thanks to everyone at Mai Khao Lak for another memorable experience! See you next time!

Stay in this beautiful resort only if you’re ready to be spoilt by the amazing hospitality of their staff. It’s located in the middle of nowhere, but that doesn’t matter as the resort itself has everything you’ll need. We took the all in package. Rooms are luxurious, very clean, very well kept. The resort itself is very well kept, pool, beach, bar, playroom. Very family friendly. Stayed here twice, both during peak (March) and low peak(June), both occasions felt very different, i personally preferred the peak, however one thing that did not change was the hospitality of their amazing staff! A special shout out to Kwan for professionally handling the tantrum of a hungry 35yr old (me). Great selection of food in their restaurants too. And when you need a laugh, Sit@Aon will crack you up. Will always come back.

Remote resort but had everything we needed for a calm and relaxing holiday. Great beach and nice pools. Rooms were big and clean. We also walked to the Tsunami Memorial place just a short walk on the beach to get there. There is a newly opened restaurant called Tid Lom, with local nice cheap food including live music, 5 min walk from the hotel on the main road. (In case you don’t want to pay the high price for the hotel dinner buffet)

PPengguna TetamuWe spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

AAlexhoThis resort was excellent! I travelled here my girlfriend for the weekend and it exceeded all of expectations. The location is perfect right next to the beach, and the hospitality of the staff were unparralled. The breakfast was delicious with many options, and my room was very spacious, comfortable. I highly recommend this resort to anyone and I would love to come back again if we visit Khao Lak again.

Staff are warm, welcoming, super helpful and friendly . Especially Nu who took great care of us . Great breakfast selection and super yummy.
Great setup at kids room which also catered to older kids with Pingpong table , ball machine, arcade games and other selection.
Staff at beach station were super helpful, all ready to help , SUP , boogie boards and kayaks available for use without charge. You really don’t have to go anywhere , just relax at the beautiful Sandy beach. Kids also played volleyball almost every evening with other guests .

PPengguna TetamuMy husband and I had five nights booked as part of our Honeymoon in early February 2024. This was arranged through Trailfinders who strongly recommended the hotel as perfect for this occasion, and looking at their website and reviews we were excited to visit. This was the end of our busy trip so we were looking forward to relaxing. Unlike other five-star hotels we visited on this trip who emailed us in advance to say some work might be happening, this one did not. Their website at the time said completion due Dec 2023, looking today when writing (3rd March) it says we will be finished 1st March, so very delayed! We arrived late afternoon and were shown around, where the staff member tried to quickly skip over the fact that there was a lot of construction happening, and it would be finished ‘this week’. Our duplex villa looked so great, we dropped our stuff and went for a wander. After being out for dinner we returned and wanted to make use of the milk bath they had filled for us (They claimed it was a special for our honeymoon but I now understand everyone gets this!). Long story short the bath wouldn’t drain properly and we quickly noticed it was flooding the room (bathroom was on the middle level so it was also dripping down to the lower level). It was around 10pm, my husband went to reception and the staff didn’t seem fussed. He had to ask to move rooms, they said ok but only one other room is available. We packed up, moved our stuff and then quickly realised there were further issues in the next room. They had clearly rushed finishing the renovations as the rooms had these fancy button consoles to control the lighting and air conditioning, which didn’t work!! At 11pm we had to call reception again as we literally could not switch the lights off to go to sleep. They came and played around with panels and wiring for 15 minutes (by this point we are so upset) and managed to get the system to go on or off only as a temporary fix. This was the main issues, there were others too I won’t list as this is an essay already. In the morning at breakfast a woman who we assume was the manager (she didn’t introduce herself in any way) casually came and asked if her team could access the room to look at the lights. No apologies for all the issues, then came back and said ok so the lights don’t work but we have it so you can switch them off or on whole room at a time. By this point I was already so disappointed, and after looking around and seeing half of the villas were still complete building sites, plus that you couldn’t actually access the beach as promised, I knew there was no way we could stay. I then read a review from just before we visited on TripAdvisor and someone who booked through the same agent left an incredibly different review – the hotel could not do enough for them when their room wasn’t ready on time – all-inclusive meals, free massages etc. We had to ask to move room and even the second one wasn’t ok, but they didn’t have any others

SStephenGot a great room upgrade which was lovely but they REALLY need to stop the guests from staking out sun beds and reserving them all day and hardly using them. Sign says not to do it and belongings will be removed but never saw it done, not even once.
Also free shuttle bus was always booked out but come the day, nowhere near full.
Just go along on the day and you’ll likely get a seat due to inconsiderates booking and then not using.

We had a Grande Deluxe room on the top floor overlooking the swim up pool. It was perfect! The bed was huge as was the bath. Bottled water was replenished every day. The room was also cleaned spotlessly daily. Breakfast was a choice of fruits/yoghurts, eggs/bacon/tomatoes or Thai stir fry. Something for everyone! Bars are dotted around the entire resort. Obviously they charge hotel prices but they all have their own happy hour (actually it’s 2hrs!!). Time it right and a bottle of beer is 70baht and cocktails 130baht. It’s a 10 minute walk into Khao Lak and the start of a 1.5km ***** of shops and restaurants. Alternatively there will always be taxis waiting outside the hotel entrance. You can get these for 100Baht (£2.20). It’s 200Baht if you fancy a trip to the market which is a couple of km further. We left early at 5am and were provided with a breakfast box to take with us which was a nice touch. Overall we loved this hotel and will definitely return. Kha Lak is the perfect place to visit and Moracea is the perfect hotel to base yourselves. Thank you for making our holiday special.

PPengguna TetamuGreat location on a lovely beach. Only 5 minutes into Khao Lak in a taxi (100bhts) or 150bhts for 4 people. Rooms were very spacious. The bed was very hard BUT ask reception and they will have a mattress topper put on straight away, this was much better. Bathrooms were a little dated but everything worked. Found it a little odd to have the wardrobes, kettle and fridge in the bathroom but they are in a cupboard so had no issues with it. The aircon kept the rooms super cool. Pools and bar were lovely, although it was a bit of a sunbed challenge to get a towel on while we were there. The massages in the hotel were super. All the staff were helpful, and seemed very happy We would most definitely go back there, a very relaxing, tranquil, peace of heaven

My youngest daughter loved the outdoor toys, shame the swimming pool was out of action but it didnt really matter as the sea was 5 min walk away. Service was very good and the breakfast staff put extra effort to give us a great breakfast before we left. Overall highly recommended and good price too!
