Great location, nice bar/hangout location with a pool and reasonable surfboard hire.

Great location and super helpful staff at the front desk. Our room was a bit dark and gloomy but fair for the price.

Absolutely over rated.. Extremely and I mean, extremely low value for your money, the room was a disgrace, the bathroom is a hygiene hazard. Staff in the restaurant is very nice and friendly, not so much on the lobby. Breakfast was very good, but the rooms.. What an experience. 😂😂😂 Definetely not the right place to stay in tamarindo.

Service was friendly and helpful. The Latin dance night and morning yoga were great activities, and the welcome drink was a nice introduction.

Tue hotel idea very nice and well located. Breakfast is good with hot and cold options. The room Is big and the bed is big and confy. The staff is kind, and informative. The room has a kettle and a fridge for cold drinks. The toilet is big and well equide with towels

Well… one year later I’m extremely disappointed with my stay at Selina Tamarindo. I paid €150 for an activity that was canceled, and despite multiple diplomatic follow-ups on my part, I was never refunded. They kept my money without any justification, which is unacceptable and shows a complete lack of professionalism. Furthermore, this is the only place where I was not allowed to stay with the person I had booked with at the same time. This is a disgrace for an establishment that claims to provide quality services. Place might be nice but be careful when you give them money.

Very nice rooms and comfy beds , lots of things to do and rent with great pool and snooker table. The location is great in town close to lots of food places and bars , also great food from the hostel restaurant which is perfect before going to the beach

1 star horrible hotel it flooded knee deep in water trying to get to my room they give me the wrong room 2 times chicken screaming at 4AM the food was really overpriced not good either the staff wasn’t that good one really cool guy was helpful the A.C didn’t even work the first night so hot the bamboo in deluxe is a shin breaker and watch out for hot water because it had its own mind don’t recommend horrible

This hostel is amazing! So close to the beach plus a full bar and pool. Such an amazing staff- Diego especially is super helpful and kind. Very social vibe and a lot of fun! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any solo travel or otherwise

Cool hostel, nice pool and restaurant with good food. Adding curtains to the beds would be a good improvement. Close the beach and very nice and helpful staff. Activities going all week round. Signed to the moonlight market and it was cool. Thanks

I absolutely loved my time here. Clean, social, packed with optional activities most of which were free/included in our stay. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. There is a barber shop and tattoo artist on property as well as surf lessons and rentals. Some of the activities we did were: Salsa Dancing Bar Crawl ($10) Welcome Drink Pool Party Night Market Only thing I was not a fan of was the price- I think it was a little expensive BUT well worth every penny.

the best and i mean absolute best staff and vibes!! shout out to my guy ponytail/goatee, diego at the front desk and my man ivaan (who makes the worlds best spicy margaritas!!). i loved how everyone would connect and hang out in the evenings and how much fun i had every single day (currently staying in selina santa teresa north and its the exact opposite, no vibes and the staff is very unhelpful/rude). one thing i will say tho is the facilities could use a LOT of work - more cleanings in the bathrooms, some upgrades to the suites (i had a private micro and it was a windowless room with a bunk bed - no mirror, no rack to hang anything etc.) but this is definitely a management issue. overall, loved tamarindo so much! holds a special place in my heart always and forever

Friendly staff (especially Rene and Will), great service, and an awesome experience overall. The outside environment is relaxing with entertainment every day. Only takes a few minutes to walk to the beach around the corner. Whether you’re staying for business or vacation, it is a great place to choose.

Digital nomads this is a warning for you, do not stay at Selina hostels. They do not manage the properties well. I was actively ignored by management. Staff were actively ignored by management for three days which I know of in this instance. I was specifically thanked by Diego and Alejandro (staff) for my respect for them when dealing with this situation. As a former service worker and restaurant manager, I recognized that they were not the problem. We have a separate thread communicating that we were promised a refund and the amount when the management was not responding to them. I have not received my refund even though staff seemed to be entering my card to process the transaction. There was a real electrical fire hazard on the property that was a risk to guests and the physical structures. I was getting increasingly sick from no sleep. This is not the 4-star property that the company claims. In addition to the guest safety issue, we were never actually able to book excursions over the two months ahead of our stay when trying to request to make those purchases. They advertise that you can book excursions with them through their website but we had to spend our money elsewhere (lost revenue!). Cockroaches in the room and had to ask the staff 5 times for fresh towels.
