**Relaxing Stay with a Great Beachside Location** I had a pleasant stay at Flamingo Hotel by The Beach, Penang. The hotel enjoys a beautiful location by the sea, offering a relaxing atmosphere and lovely views. It is also conveniently located for exploring the surrounding area, with restaurants, shops and other attractions nearby. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the overall environment was pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the stay more enjoyable. The beachside setting and swimming pool are definite highlights, especially for those looking for a relaxing getaway. Overall, Flamingo Hotel is a good choice for a short holiday or family stay in Penang. With its beachfront location, comfortable accommodation and reasonable value, I would consider staying here again.

Enjoyed the view and hospitality.. especially ms virtha the receptionist so friendly and helpful.. already here for multiple times.. value for money with amazing view..

I had booked 2 bedrooms & seem like just had some new painting works. Quite comfortable and my kids loves it as the bed is big enough and separate room so we can have a privacy like at home. Overall is nice and the location actually quite nice. Just the beach sand is more rough than the one at east side. Saw sunset beautifully and the kids enjoyed the view as well. Will come back next time.

I really like my stay , room great , but no soap or shampoo only those little souvenirs soap and lotions , it’s a four stars hotels should have soap and shampoo, I don’t bring with me because every hotel I go , they have shampoo and soap , food at the restaurant not to good , breakfast buffet was great , went out to diner after, otherwise great , service very friendly , I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it. Location: Approximately 40-45 minutes from the airport, about 25 minutes to the Old Town (Mural Street), and around a 10-minute drive to Sunset Beach, the Boat House Restaurant, and Shangri-La. A few minutes' drive towards Sunset Beach, there's also a local 'basha' (market) with lots of good food in the morning; worth checking out if you're an early bird. Surrounding Amenities: Across the road, there's a snack street (night market, popular with locals), numerous restaurants (Chinese, Indian, etc.), and shops. Next door is another hotel, modern in style with white architecture. There's also the Dalah International School nearby. Hardware and Decor: The hotel has some history, but it's well-maintained. The rooms are very spacious and all have balconies. You can see the sea (even if it's not a 'sea view room,' the side view of the sea is still good), and you can hang clothes to dry on the balcony. Having chairs to enjoy the sea view is a nice touch. The lobby has a minimalist style, not a luxurious hotel feel, but you can still enjoy the sea view and watch the pool on the first floor while ordering something – it's very relaxed. There are also two convenience stores, one mainly selling local clothing, which is very affordable; I found a shirt for less than 50 MYR, and the quality was great. Highly recommended. Service, Breakfast, and Hygiene: The service is good, but it's not the kind of luxurious hotel service; it's more about a sense of comfort and ease. Everything you need is there, but guests are given their space and freedom, making it feel very much like home. Breakfast is served in the coffee shop on the basement floor, which has direct access to the beach and is next to the pool. The food at the restaurant is good; there's no freshly ground coffee (available at a paid stall), but the brewed coffee is still decent, and they have Teh Tarik (pulled tea) among other things. All breads, pastries, and baked goods are made fresh, which is a big plus. The egg station is busy, and the two ladies there are very efficient and do a great job. The hygiene is also good. Many European and American families stay here, and they often enjoy sitting on the terrace outside the lobby bar, having drinks and chatting. Overall, it's highly recommended. We initially planned to stay only one night but ended up staying for about 4-5 nights. It truly felt like home and was very relaxing. Plus, the price, including breakfast for two, was excellent.

The suite was incredibly spacious and comfortable, with all three rooms facing the sea. Falling asleep to the sound of waves at night was a dream. The kids absolutely loved having the pool and beach right downstairs – super convenient. There was also a large bird and fish pond with various small birds and fish, which the children adored. Breakfast exceeded my expectations. If you're used to a Western-style breakfast, this one was perfect. They had freshly made Indian paratha, freshly cooked fish ball noodles, and eggs prepared fried or boiled. The drink selection was also extensive, offering local white coffee and milk tea. For fruit, there was watermelon, pineapple, papaya, and melon. Honestly, this breakfast was much more suitable for Chinese tastes than what I've had at all-inclusive hotels in Dubai and Turkey. Very satisfying! 👍 Across from the hotel, there's a Lebanese restaurant, an Indian restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and a FamilyMart convenience store. A bit further down, you'll find a market and hawker stalls. 👍 The only downsides were a few small ants in the room and a broken drain in one of the sinks. I hope the hotel can fix these issues.

I only found out upon arrival that there's a 12 RM local tourism tax, and they only accept cash. I didn't have enough on me, so I had to leave my passport as collateral and run about 1 kilometer to the bank to withdraw money. To the right of the hotel, there's a FamilyMart convenience store. To the left, if you walk a bit and cross the pedestrian bridge, you'll find Mixue Ice Cream & Tea, Domino's Pizza, and a bunch of street food stalls where you can try some local dishes, and the prices aren't expensive. However, this hotel has zero soundproofing. I stayed on the fifth floor and couldn't sleep all night because of the motorcycles on the road. But the swimming pool and the sea view are fantastic. It's really worth paying a bit extra for a sea view room. The beach and pool are genuinely beautiful and great for photos.

I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay here. The room was clean and cozy, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. The best part is the location — the beach is just a few steps away from the hotel, which was super convenient. Definitely a lovely place to stay for a relaxing getaway!

The room was good; not luxurious, but it met all basic needs, including USB outlets which saved me the hassle of not having an adapter. Cleaning was prompt and thorough. The staff were quite welcoming, and there was a young lady at the front desk who spoke some Chinese. Breakfast didn't have a huge variety, but there was enough to fill up. The pool water was clean, and they vacuumed it daily. There was a performance on Friday night. The beach is nice for a stroll, but I wouldn't recommend swimming in the sea. They have their own mini-mart, and if you turn right out of the hotel, there's a FamilyMart. A 10-minute walk will get you to restaurants, bars, and a small, not-too-busy shopping complex. Turning left, you'll find more restaurants, and a 15-minute walk leads to a food court, supermarket, and various shops. There's a bus stop right outside, and taxis are easy to get. It's about a 40-minute ride to George Town and Penang Hill, and around 50 minutes to the airport.

Currently rated 4.4, which feels a bit undervalued. The hotel is a little old, similar to the Macau old Grand Lisboa. Parking is convenient, the pool is good, and the bedding is comfortable. The room is a bit dated, but it's not a big issue. The balcony is comfortable with a great view. It's suitable for friends with a car for a 1-2 night stay.

This is a beautiful hotel with a large swimming pool and fantastic sea views. You can access the beach directly from the pool area. The rooms are spacious, and there are plenty of balconies offering panoramic views. The breakfast is delicious and offers a great variety.
