Hotel berhampiran Pakanga Reserve, Tauranga

We only spent one night here. Good value for money, the beds were good, having a private spar a bonus after a long day. Very clean and tidy and a comfortable ground floor unit, which we had asked for. Getting to the place when you dont know Tauranga was a mission the last roundabout with traffic lights just before the road was confusing but that's not the fought of the motel. It did say coffee machine on advertising, no plunger or machine but plunger coffee provided...... so it may have been taken. If we were staying longer I would have asked them about it. Over all comfortable.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our NZ trip. It provided all the facilities and care of a hotel with the intimate personal attention of a B&B. Out hosts were just wonderful and everything that we could possibly have needed was there. Our room was a reasonable size, good big bathroom and you have the use of a communal living room and balcony. We even had a load of washing done for a very small fee of $10. The breakfast was amazing - we expected a small continental type breakfast but received that and an amazing cooked one too. Location is perfect and a short drive to the centre and Mount Maunganui. Definitely no hesitation in recommending a stay at Seascape.

We stayed 1 night at this motel. The room looked like it had been renovated recently-ish. It was bright, simple and clean. The bathroom was quite good as it had a seperate room for the toilet. The motel had assigned parking. The parking spots were a bit small and I would be concerned if someone brought a big car to park there as they might find it difficult The squeeze around parked cars. Staff were friendly too.

I stayed in room 002, ground floor. This was a two bedroom apartment (I was upgraded). It was spacious, and clean and tidy. I've stayed in Quests from Auckland to Invercargill and this was one of the best. I book serviced apartments when I travel so I can prepare my own food. Often the kitchens are quite poorly equipped. Maybe there's no sieve, or no tin opener, or no vegetable peeler. This one had everything I needed for once! And they passed my personal acid test: the iron was completely free of burn marks! The staff at Quest kindly took my supermarket delivery order and even put things in the freezer and fridge as appropriate (I've had other places leave frozen food to thaw). It's quiet and well positioned for the centre of town. Unlimited WiFi is a real plus. I'm not much of a TV watcher but there seemed to be a full Sky service.

HOLIDAY NOT BUSINESS TRIP After a 30 hour flight from England to NZ, we checked into the hotel exhausted and in need of a wash and relaxation. Coming up from behind the hotel, it doesn't look like much, however when you view it from the street behind (where the door isnt) it is quite something to behold. We went over to the desk to find a very enthusiastic woman called Julia. She welcomed us warmly to the hotel, was delighted we prepaid and explains everything about the hotel we needed to know in a detailed concise speech i'm sure she needs a raise for. Her whole manner picks up our mood as she enquires about us and our holiday. Julia is by far the best thing about this hotel, throughout our stay she was very helpful, ordering us a taxi (they have this button so you don't have to pre-order one) and greeting us whenever we came into the hotel. The other hotel staff were nice, pleasant and helpful enough, especially when i locked the room key in our room...but Julia stood out by a mile. We booked a twin room and had been upgraded to a twin room with double beds and a balcony! On account of us staying a full week Julia went through how how we can order more toilet rolls, products ect and new towels. Due to covid they dont clean rooms until you check out. On the balcony was a fan and inside we had a mini fridge. Not sure if these two things are in all NZ hotels due to the heat, but it was much appreciated! The bathroom was massive, a spacious place with bathtub with spa bubble option and two his and hers sinks joined with a massive mirror. The hair products were local and contained no SLS ect. and came in refillable bottles fixed to the walls. It's the first time ive actually used the products in a hotel! The hotel room itself was quite large, the NZ fern design on pillows and a large closet with extra pillows and blankets. Loads of herbal tea (jasmine green, lemon ect.), coffee and even wine glasses! A small table in the corner was a good size, I dislike when desks are too big with massive chairs that take up all the space. This was not so in our room! Beside each bed was a draws to store even more stuff in. One of the best, most spacious hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. We also got a voucher for some money off in the eatery but we never had breakfast there or dinner so i can't comment on the food. I did go into the breakfast hall and it seemed like continental with limited hot food. The usual, toast, jams, cereal, fruit ect. The hotel has an outdoor swimming, laundry facilities (which were most helpful as they supply you with powder). We asked a few times for our bottles to be refilled as no water fountain and members if staff seemed happy to do so. As the hotel is in the centre of the CBD loads of cafes and restaurants were within a short walking distance. Very comfortable stay. Nice little hand crafted biscuits and bottles of water on the bed when we arrived. Hotel is clean, modern, staff are helpful and friendly. Had a lovely room with a view of the pool overlooking the wharf. Loved the heated floor in the bathroom. Walking distance to all bars and restaurants at the Strand. The only negative was the internet was slow so couldn't watch our Netflix. Left some clothing behind and the hotel contacted me as soon as we left saying they could courier it to me, great customer service. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed two nights at 'The Reef Beachfront Apartments' Found our apartment spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed. The apartment was 'immaculate.' The pool and spa were within easy reach, and 'The Reef' offered secure undercover parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 'The Reef,.' The receptionist was friendly, and helpful. We would have no hesitation recommending 'The Reef' to anyone wanting a comfortable, reasonably priced apartment. Top Class. Will be back soon.

Booked last minute as a birthday treat. Did not realise on booking that you had to check in before 6pm, I called at 5.55 to let them know we were 10 minutes alway but no answer. Arrived just after 6pm, had to call the after hours we were meet by a man, we had already prepaid the room which was $266 for a bottom floor, one bedroom apartment. He told us we needed to pay a bond which I assumed would be $50-$100. We had to pay a $250 bond upfront to stay here. That was our dinner and activities money for the night. So had to cancel our plans. The room was dated, there was no body/hair wash left. There was no milk in the fridge so couldn't make a hot drink. As others have mentioned there are signs all over the room about extra charges, if you ring them after 9pm for anything you will get charged, if you leave anything in the room you will be charged and even more unnecessary fees. Tiny rubbish bin. The room was a good size but the headboard on the double bed isn't attached so everytime you turn over it bangs and so when you are there for a child free night you can imagine how much it was banging. It was right next to the road and it was a raining miserable night and it was loud, cars driving past, people walking/running past you can hear everything, image it during the busy season. The noise from the above room you can here people walking around. We were quite disappointed so I had a look at the other reviews this morning and I really wish I had of read them before booking here :( On check out which you had to wait as they are only there at reception between 8.30-10am on weekends. I asked the man to refund my $250 bond and he said that he can't and it won't be refunded until about Tuesday but it can take 10 business days. We had said about the missing amenities and he didn't care. Then we asked about all the bad reviews and he started getting angry. My husband reliased we had left a bag in the room and wanted to go get it and as we were approaching the room my husband made a comment about no wonder you have so many bad reviews and he told my husband to shut his mouth and he locked the room door and said to get out! He was not going to allow us to go back into the room to get our things. And said to ring the police if we wanted our stuff back. By this stage my husband was really mad and I ended up needing to call the police so they could go get our stuff from the room. Our uber driver had shown up and manager/man on reception had disappeared and some other lady that was obviously to what was happening came out and I said can I just get the key and I'll go get our stuff since we don't actually have to check out until 10am and she was saying I can't, I don't know what is happening. A couple minutes later she comes back in with our bag and continued to argue. Even the uber driver heard it and he is a 70 year old man and he came in to the reception and said they should not of been treating customer how they treated us. I will be going to
